I don't understand the "hope isn't a plan" take. Every draft, you're literally hoping you're right about the picks and have to plan around / find out over the course of 2-4 years - that's vital and separate from instant gratification FA. Every team to some degree has to plan on rookies making some kind of contribution. By signing Aiyuk to ridiculous money and giving away a 1st, you're hoping he's worth it and a couple major drops in a significant moment could deem the move a failure ultimately. Hope is part of the game, I believe BTJ will have a great showing year 1, and he probably won't be perfect out of the gate.
Aiyuk is a dawg no doubt, but I think BTJ and Gabe Davis provide what we’ve been missing. Aiyuk is just a better version of Kirk. Watching Trev since his freshman year at Clemson I know for a fact that he thrives when he has taller receivers and receivers that can not only get open deep but can also catch the pass. Trev has had the most dropped TD passes and the highest EPA lost to dropped passes. Find cheap vets that have the potential and draft a young talented receiver. Save the money to build a good enough team around Trev to actually win.
My whole thing is. I think we jumped the gun with Gabe Davis. I would have loved to waited and got Brandon Ayuik instead of Gabe. Ayuik and BYJ and Kirk would be nasty
As much as I love Kirk, I wouldn’t be mad one bit if they packaged him in a deal to get Aiyuk. BA is most definitely a top 10 receiver in the league. BTJ is not going to be that guy. Just my opinion.
And if you go research his last two years at LSU and see how much of an impact he had on Daniels and Nabors production you’ll understand. When he became more involved last season, Daniels threw for more yards and 20+ more touchdowns, nabors had the same amount of catches but got 400 more yards and 10 more touchdowns.
Think yall getting away from the fact that Trevor Lawrence went to the playoffs with Zay Jones and Marvin Jones. He doesnt need an elite WR just catch the ball. LSU also dont miss when it comes to WRs
Horrible take. You don’t let your franchise-generational QB have regular WRs for his entire career. Hence as to why Trent pivoted to acquiring fresh talent at that position this offseason. You invest in the position group that actually scores points to win games 😂
The problem is they would have to overpay for Aiyuk. That’s just what it is. If he was a free agent. Without a doubt they would have went for him. But they were gonna want multiple draft picks for a player that may not even sign with us after his current contract up. That move makes no sense
Ayuik is very good BUT we would have to Trade for him...and then PAY him...Ridley was good BUT disappeared too much...and TN might end up regretting paying him so much. I really like BTJ and would rather have him than either of those 2...he is younger, cheaper, and looks like he has potential to be a big star....Yes Ayuik and Ridley are proven commodities..but I'll go with BTJ.

One player won’t win a championship we have to win as a team! The team wins as one!
Y pay for Aiyuk an Brian Thomas by mid season gonna make yall forget bout any other receiver out there
No. 😂

Thats true

They really beat themselves with how they handled Ridley, fans warned them

I’d rather have BA over BTJ. It’s a no brainer.
No other team formed up the cash for aiyuk; Brian Thomas is going to be better. Brian Thomas was better at lsu than aiyuk was at Arizona state.
Why can’t we have both
