I just attempted the same set up. I am curious if at first, you leaked a bit around the hole in the bucket?? I drilled my hole much smaller then the tube and really had to force the tubing through the hole. Having said that, I am still experiencing a steady drip around the hole in the bucket. Do you find that in a few days, it will expand or oxidize a bit??
+LXX I have found that if the hole size is just slightly less width than the pipe, the pipe will slide through easier and seems to bond to the bucket well. If its stays wet, you may want to let the bucket dry and run a bead of caulk around the outside of the bucket next to the pipe. Unless there is a major drip, the pipe and bucket should be ok. Hope your set up works well for you!
