2:04 The was she parodies Connery is adorable
Peta Wilson actually is a very good actress as well as beautiful, she nailed it. I also loved her dismissive "You must have quite a library, Mr Quartermain. All those books you must have read, just by looking at their covers." Then proceeds in the next scene to reveal herself as the most powerful one of them all 🤣
@@theshillneckedlizard8364I remembered her from the Canadian/American series La Femme Nikita.
there are movies like this one that gets better and better over time
Yes!
One of my favorite films EVER. I wanna see this again on the Big Screen. Wow. It's been 20 years already. I feel so old.

That's my motto
Like the Grand High Witch's true form in the 90's The Witches.
I like the little reference at the beginning to the Sherlock Holmes "Rue Morgue" mystery. If you know the story twist, you'll get it.
Actually it was C. Auguste Dupin, not Sherlock Holmes. In the comic book Dupin actually appears and helps capture Hyde precisely because of the similarities to his "The Murders in the Rue Morgue" case.
so he is basically a british hulk * ᵃⁿᵈ ᶦ ᵈᵒⁿ'ᵗ ʰᵃᵗᵉ ᵗʰᵉ ᵐᵒᵛᶦᵉ *

But as far as Mr. Hyde goes, I'll stick with his portrayal in "The Pagemaster", thank you very much!

"he's afraid"
Well, DUH... you'd be afraid too of a guy that can destroy chimney's with his gun...
No, Hyde was afraid cos Quartermain can hit him in the head with a bullet anytime he wanted. Hyde knew Quartermain was leading him somewhere, just didn't know where and how he was planning to capture Hyde. My guess is that Hyde planned to keep running until his pursuers gave up or ran out of bullet.
Elephant gun. Hyde is big, but those bullets are serious business even for him XD
I still wonder why Henry bought a hat that size or how Edward got it
As a kid, I always thought the hat grew with Hyde during the transformation.........keep in mind, I was like 5 when the movie first came out 🤣
I'm sure with enough money, a hatter would humor the customer with a comically large custom hat.

(who I think would win in a fight with hulk and mr.hyde).
Bruce banner and Dr. Jekyll who after a lab experiment goes wrong develop a second much more aggressive personality (Hulk and Mr. Hyde) who when in control transforms their body into giant muscular monsters that cause chaos wherever they go. This causes the two personalities to constantly battle within themselves for control, pushing loved ones away in fear of harming them. Both these scientists and monsters are able to communicate with each other via looking at their reflection, which is where we see how they don’t like each other, but eventually have to accept one as a part of the other. They became persons of interest for the government, making the men go on the run, trying to keep a low profile while still transforming whenever they become too stressed or angry. They are eventually captured after getting into a fight, which would lead to them being recruited into a new team of superheroes (Hulk breaking out of SHIELD but then joining the heroes in a fight which would lead them to form the Avengers and Hyde being captured by the British government to be a part of the new League of Extraordinary Gentlemen). The scientist-half liked the idea of helping the other heroes, but there monster-halfs were initially more reluctant, only agreeing after making a deal (Hulk agreeing after Bruce agreed to give Hulk full control and Hyde agreeing when he learned his criminal history would be wiped and of Jekyll dying making hyde Jekyll free once and for all).As part of the team, they took the role of being the powerhouse, fighting a variety of threats from technologically advanced criminal masterminds to alien invaders. Despite being seen as just brutish muscle, they are shown to actually be quite intelligent, holding meaningful conversations and having some of the scientific knowledge of their other half. They show active dislike for a foreign member of the team (Thor and Captain Nemo),insulting them for their looks but overtime showing respect to them for their skills as a warrior. They have a soft spot for the female member who is the heart of the team because they were the first people to ever look at them as someone other than a villain (Wasp because she sees the good in everybody and Mina Harker because she’s seen what true evil looks like). Both also experienced great betrayal when one of their own teammates turned against them during an alien invasion (Captain America who was replaced by a Skrull got Hulk arrested and Invisible Man who switched sides for survival beat up Mina & gave the Martians intel). This betrayal caused the monsters to act out which caused problems for everyone (Hulk who knew nothing about the Skrulls tried to attack the real Cap which caused all the Avengers to battle Hulk and Mr. Hyde brutally murdered Invisible Man in a way that horrified the rest of the team). The contrast however in that despite the way Hulk acts, he’s a legitimately good person that wants to help people in spite of the world seeing him as a monster, but while Mr. Hyde(who funny enough is one of the inspirations for stan lee to create hulk)is a genuinely evil person that loves the sins he commits and even if Dr Jekyll dies hyde will be free of Jekyll forever and gain immortality. Even when hyde was working with the League it was a means to cause bloodshed without getting in trouble for it..Mr. Hyde is basically everything that the world wrongfully sees Hulk as when hulk is really the good guy,Lastly both are modern adaptations of iconic classic characters, reimagining them more as team players compared to their original counterpart (Mr. Hyde in the novel was never a part of some superhero team & was never a hero in general while Hulk in the comics quit the Avengers just an issue after it was founded).all that being said i believe hulk wins because of his greater strength,so dispite Hyde getting a few blows in hulk would win in a short time.
Welcome aboard, Mr. Hyde.
He's like Hulk.
Hulk's like Mr. Hyde. This character is the original inspiration for Hulk.

This movie made Sean Connery quit acting.
At least he ended on a high note. Gene Hackman's last film was "Welcome to Mooseport".
It looks like this town is empty. There is so much shooting, and no one shouting. 😅

Viking HEAD CHOPUS - WILLLY 0
This movie so missed the mark, exemplified by the fact that the producers felt they needed to include an American character (Tom Sawyer) and call him a secret agent. If they had cast it better, it may not have been so objectionable, but they bungled that too.
Tom Sawyer never made sense for a character in this type of movie. Tom is a very well meaning kid with good morals... but he's as dumb as the day is long.

This is the kind of effect should've been used for Hulk and Thanos instead of just being all CGI. When a decent film from over 20 years ago has better special effects than any MCU movie, that's when you know film making as regressed.
