    I loved your Google Doc! I also love researching so that I can have an itinerary ready for my trip. But I usually keep about 2-3 days free for unplanned on the go activities or to just revisit places and hang out in areas that I really loved and want more of! :) Thanks for another content-heavy video!

    this video is veeerrrryyyyyy helpful!! I just wanted to say something that when you're shopping make sure that the amount of stuff you buy gets fitted in your travel bag or else you'll have to buy another bag or keep carrying them in your hands which i don't really prefer doing, but yeah I hope this helped!

    You should also take into account opening hours of monuments, museums and shops when you are planning your itinerary so you don't plan to go visit a museum on a day that it's closed or right before it closes for the day.

    Great tips! I️ went to Tokyo last year and planned the trip. It was quite time consuming. I️ employed all the tips you suggested except Google maps. I️ probably should have, it would’ve made traveling from one spot to another more streamlined. On another note, I️ would add that researching the culture and tips from travelers who’ve visited your intended destination was quite helpful. I️ knew how to use the subway and to get a subway card before going to Tokyo; Tokyo doesn’t have trash cans on the street, so I’d have to carry any trash I️ had until I️ got to a store or restaurant; and that you get great photos of Mt. Fuji while in the Hakone area when the weather is clear.

      Sara. A Incredibly excited for you to travel to Seoul! It's definitely one of the most beautiful and innovative places I have ever been to. A day trip to the DMZ is worth checking out - you can only visit through an organized tour. If you're going to the DMZ, pick the tour that goes through the JSA - this is the area where the North Korean and South Korean soldiers stand off at the line. It's intense! Usually, with these tours, they provide you transportation from your hotel, a trip to the beautiful Korea War Museum, lunch at Freedom Park where you can explore the area, JSA, and the trip back to your hotel. You can't wear jeans or flip flops because there's a camera that takes pics from the North Korean side that uses photos as propoganda about visitors from all over the world. I also highly recommend a shopping trip to Myeong-dong where all the shops for Korean beauty products are. Korean beauty shops are everywhere, but you should really check Myeong-dong out. If you're not too familiar with the products, check out you tuber Morgan from thebeauty breakdown channel. The sheer amount of beauty products is overwhelming but she is great with recommending stuff to buy. As for sites, there are 5 palaces in Seoul, but if you had to pick one to visit, check out Gyeongbokgung Palace, the biggest one of them all. The golden statue of King Sejong, the founder of the Korean alphabet, guards the palace. Very picturesque site with women in gorgeous hanbok run around the area. If you really want to, there's a place called one day hanbok that let's you dress in a hanbok for a day and it gives you free admission to some of Seoul's historical sites. Nearby the palace is Buckchon Hanok Village - beautiful historical architecture that have been in Seoul for thousands of years. At night, you should check out the man made stream called Cheonggyecheon Stream - it's a relaxing area from the hustle and bustle of the city. Sometimes, it's just nice to take a walk and enjoy the scenery there. If you want to go out and have fun for the evening, the areas of Hong Dae and Itaewon are the places to be. Hong Dae is the area where their big university is located. There are karaoke places where you can rent a private room and sing your heart out in Hong Dae. If I had to recommend a place to eat, it would be this restaurant in Hong-Dae called Meat-ing. It is a unlimited meat buffet where you can cook as much Korean bbq you want for $13 a person. It's a real treat especially if you are craving a hearty meal. In Seoul, you've got to stop by the North Seoul Tower - you can hike up there or take a cable ride to the top! It's romantic there and you can place a lock there with your significant other while looking over the city. There's also performers you can watch who dance and perform sword tricks and tae kwon do. There's an extra fee if you want to go to the top top of the north seoul tower. Next door, there's a quaint hanok village you can explore. Near that area, you can do a royal cuisine in the korea house - women in hanbok serve you meals that kings would eat..it's a place for special occasions -we saw a Korean wedding there. If I had more time in Seoul, I think it would be cool to check out their cafes like the cat cafe, dog cafe, lamb cafe, or some beauty cafes. If I had to choose one thing to see in korea, it would be Seoraksan National Park in Sokcho, which is 2 hours away from Seoul that you can take by bus. There's a beautiful temple there, giant Buddha, and huge mountains covered in fog. I personally enjoyed staying in the coffee shop enjoying the mountain views...very peaceful and serene place where you can see nuns and monks strolling by. You can do a day trip there or do an overnight trip where we stayed at Hotel Maremons with a gorgeous view over the Sea of Japan. What places were you thinking of visiting? I'm incredibly excited for you with this trip. It truly is a trip of a lifetime!

      I went to Seoul quite some years ago! If you're into the shopping or more bustling city life, I highly recommend staying directly in, or near, Myeondong or Hongdae. We stayed right outside Myeondong and would visit every night, and it might be pricey depending where, but it made things extremely convenient! Bukchon Hanok village was by far my favorite place, for photos and architecture, it can get quite busy in the summer but it's definitely worth it's something you'd look forward to. Also, allow yourself to get lost sometimes, or wander, and who knows you might stumble upon something nice~ And be prepared for the heat! although busy places quite often have air conditioning, but you never know. I hope you enjoy your trip!

      Fatima Patino thank you for your recommendations! Its so sweet of you 😊. Me and my friend have planned to go to Gyeongbokgung palace, N seoul tower, Bukcheon village aswell as the many shopping areas like Myeongdong and Dondgdaemun. But we also would like to go to food markets such as Namdaemun and Gwangjang market (we are such foodies haha). We would love to explore more places in S.K however we probably wont be able to stay more than 10 days or so and exploring more of S.K will cost more money and we're broke students lol. We would love to explore more sometime in the future tho!
      Thank you so much for everything once again. You're answer was super helpful! Can't wait to go there and explore Seoul for myself😄 P.s I love Morgan from the beauty break down❤

      Constance Chu Thank you so much! Yeah we will probably rent an airbnb in/near Myeongdong. Wandering is a great tip! I hear that there are alot of hidden gems in Seoul in the smakk hidden alleys😄. Im so excited just thinking about being there haha

    Wow Aileen!
    I'm blown away by your insightful advice and relevant topics that I find myself in at this stage of my life :) Thank you for your helpful tips, especially with these two videos on traveling. I've learned so much about the organization for putting together an itinerary, particularly for international travel. On your Instragram, I fangirled when I saw you went to Hakone! On my travel to Japan last year, I went to that enchanting place and hoped to catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji. It was cloudy that day, but it was incredibly stunning and serene. I suppose a cool topic to cover next regarding travel would be ways to record your memories from the travel experiences. For international travels, I like to create a travel photo book from blurb.com since it's really neat to compile the experiences visually and have something tangible to share with your family and friends when they ask how was your trip went. I'm curious how you compile your memories after a big trip! I think it would be cool to do a video vlog of the trip...then again, I think when you're in the place you're travelling to, it's nice to be present and actually enjoy the ambience of the area rather than worry about getting great footage. It's all about balance, I suppose! Anyway, thank you for putting out high quality and relevant content :) You're truly a gem! Keep creating, beautiful girl!
    -Fatima

    I always find your advice super useful, but about travelling, I couldn't disagree more with your planning system 😅
    I used to plan my trips quite a bit, like you, but now I don't plan much. Yes, I was seeing all the 'have to see' and I was bragging on social media with my pictures. But I was not actually 'living' the place, I was not properly exploring. The best experiences I have now when travelling is when we have a day completely unplanned and we just decide on the day what to do, usually we pick a random non-touristy neighbourhood and we go walk around and see how people live, where people shop, we eat in unknown local delicious and cheap restaurant...
    I'm about to go to New Zealand for three months and I can't wait to wake up and decide where I feel like driving the van on that day.
    Of course different things work for different people, but I just wanted to comment this in case somebody is watching your video and getting stressed about having to plan so much in detail.
    If you're reading this and you feel overwhelmed about trip planning: relax, you don't need to. It will be fun anyway 😃

    • @LeadingTheCheer
      @LeadingTheCheer 7 лет назад +24

      Aina i get your point but comparing three months with 6 days is a little unfair 😅
      I once did a trip to Rome and we didnt Plan much at All, so we spend a lot of time walking and figuring out what to do next and it Was very tiring so at the end of the day we were exhausted and had not any energy left to plan the next day and in the morning we would take our time because we didnt know what we were going to do.
      My point is you definitely want to plan ahead because why waste time and energy while you are already there? But how and in how great detail is up to you, right? :)

      I AM TOUR GUIDE! I agree with you. But, nothing wrong to have an idea. But, we don't have to plan soooo much as well.

    • @vbgcfan
      @vbgcfan 4 года назад +1

      Wow, I had forgotten about this video and my comment. As I said in the end, I wrote that just to put at ease people who might feel stressed when thinking about planning so much. Of course different things work for different people but to me, all that planning stresses me out. Since that comment I've continued travelling. After 3 months in New Zealand (no plans) I've been in Thailand for a month (no plans, just plane tickets), I went to Iceland for 10 days (with a friend, she planned loosely) and to Boston for 7 days (plans: plane ticket and accommodation). So you see, it doesn't depend on how long the trip is. For me it works well like this. I have fun, I meet a lot of people, I get recommendations, I adapt to the weather... And I don't lose my morning deciding what to do, I'm out of the door nice and early every day :)
      If you like to plan, go ahead! Again, my comment was to just let people know that there's other options.
      PS: funnily enough, I've been working for a year as a tour guide when I'm back at home
