    [MOTOROLA RAZR 2019 HANDS-ON / MOTOROLA RAZR 2020 HANDS-ON]
    The re-imagined Motorola Razr is part flashy technological feat and part practical portability perk, sold at a premium price despite some forgettable specs. If you’re thinking that sounds familiar, then you much have been around for the first Motorola RAZR launch back in 2004! Despite its high price, that RAZR product family would go on to sell 130 million units over the next four years, going down in the history books as the most successful flip phone of all time. Can Motorola capture lightning in a bottle again? I recently got a sneak peek at the company's flexible-display flagship branded simply "razr" - and while my enthusiasm for the foldable category doubtless colors my impression, I came away hopeful for the Motorola brand name for the first time in four years.

    When it comes to smart phones, ppl are always focusing on the specs and the performance. It makes it feel like if a phone with a price that is comparably higher than other phones that have the same specs, it is just overpriced and not worth buying. But design is a big, important part as well which should never be ignored or underrated. Designed clothes are with higher prices, designed shoes are with higher prices, chic looking laptops are with higher prices and ppl are just fine with it. So the new Razr has every right to set a $1500 price since it is a great design and deserves a price that says that.
    As for ppl who don't like the phone, everyone has a different taste. You don't have to convince me the tablet-phone folding style is better and I'm not trying to sell you the idea that Razr style is better. The more styles we have, the more interesting the industry will become, and the more choices we will have.

    • @itaintright4053
      @itaintright4053 4 года назад

      @@anotherDEADMAN I agree with you. And I as well think specs and performance are important. That's why I usually go with flagship phone instead of mid rangers. But I was simply explaining why I think it is ok for Motorola to set a high price for this phone basically just for the design. Cuz design is worth money as well. I believe that they can make a phone like this with high end chips and larger battery but the price will go way up since the cost will be much more as well.

    On one hand, with $1500, I could buy a smart phone, smart watch, and still have some cash left over. On the other hand, none of those devices are the 2020 Motorola Razr. To get the future now, you'll pay the price. To some it's worth it, to others it's not. It's disappointing to see so many in the tech community bashing each other over whether a truly unique device is worth it or not. Yes it's a first generation device but those that buy it know what they're purchasing. There's no point in harassing people over the value of a device.
    The current argument over the value of foldable devices reminds me of when the 1st gen Apple Watch released. In Twitter posts, RUclips comments, and in real life, people were being harassed for having purchased the 1st gen smartwatch. People arguing that it was a waste of money, the device category was dead on arrival, and countless other sorts of things. Do the people that harass these early adopters not think that these things were thought about before they made their purchase? That's the whole point of a first gen device. You take a risk supporting a new emerging technology. Sometimes they succeed and sometimes they fail. But in the end, regardless of how it fairs, the industry learns from it.
    I expect that foldables will face the same criticisms that the 1st gen Apple Watch did. But you know what, it's hard to go anywhere without seeing an Apple Watch on at least one person's wrist.
    Sincerely,
    A 1st Gen Apple Watch owner
    TL;DR Don't harass people over what they like. People that buy first gen devices know exactly what they're getting themselves into.

Its a 1st gen product and there is nothing on the market like this...if the company doesnt place it above the trending price then that company will only be considered a fool, especially when the technology itself is new which would have cost the company a huge capital, ton of R&D and time.
