Rolling count and count to 8, that seems so hard! You'd think once you got out of kindergarten you wouldn't need to learn to count again. So much practice needed.

This is very helpful. I like the expanded notion of thinking beyond the 1,2...pattern, pattern, pattern mindset and getting into the sound and feel of the music. Thank you Sir Jeffrey! ;)

    excellent. he meant to say: "_three_ 6s, an 8 and a 6 = 32"
    Sugar Push
    Right Side Pass
    Left Side Pass
    Whip
    Sugar Push

Ok, so if I understand what he is basically saying is we can dance a 6 count pattern and also add-in an 8 count pattern to any West Coast music so long as we do it to the count pattern of the music?

TheSeeker2070 hey theSeeker. You can do any pattern even if it is longer than 6 or 8 counts just keep counting 1 to 8 all the way through it. If you want to get advanced with it and If there is an accent in the pattern like a tucking action or a hip hit, you can go the pattern and find what music count it hits on and adjust what count you start on to make the math work to accent the one beat with the hit.
Simple example is a tuck. If do a push 1 2 3&4 5 6 then do a tuck to follow it would be walk wal on 7 8 then tuck hit would be on 1 of the next 8 counts.
      I hope makes sense.
      Cheers
