These kinds of crashes are pretty cool, since the nature of the crash causes unintended code to be executed (and how it can be manipulated), I assume whatever code the game is running when improperly executed eventually hits a stop instruction or jumps to even more unintended code and throws everything out the window.
I like the fact that NES and SNES games can keep running, even if they crashes, rather than the game being frozen with a buzzing sound (GameCube, Wii, & Wii U), or the game closing up by itself with an error message (Switch).
