It's great to see Jane's reaction to Ricky's humour, given that they live together. I'm always curious whether comedians get the same reaction from their partners compared to the public.
Is that Jane between Ricky and the guy in the "SAVAGE" black shirt? I wondered if it was, and it's true she does react to some of his humorous comments. Is she laughing with them, or at them? I think they have a great relationship and genuinely admire each other.
Si Wakeman what are you sprouting? bullshit. total bullshit thats what. Ricky and Jane have been together since they were young. They are atheist. Why would they get married. No animals get married. Its pointless. Im sure their financials are worked out so each is protected. If you don't believe this then you don't know much about their character.
Plenty of atheists in england get married. Married couples if they divorce are entitled by law to there partners assets and money, unless a pre nup agreed, Jane has not contributed to the couples fortune, which is largely due to the office Ricky being one of the creators and cashing in the checks. So there wealth as a couple is HIS. Only they know what their relationship is like behind closed doors, we only see the public image. Plenty of married couples or couple who have been together 20plus year's can suddenly grow apart and divorce. Plenty of unmarried couples part and end up with jack shit from their wealthy partner. Im sure Ricky wouldn't see Jane financially struggle and he would see her secure. But neither you nor I personslly know them,What i do know for certain is MONEY is a powerful motivator and having lots of it and access to it solves a lot of problems. Being unmarried Jane has the possibility of losing her lifestyle should they part in any circumstance. You nor I do not know what kind of personal agreement they have between each other should that happen. So again having a multi millionaire boyfriend helps, and im sure its not to diffucult to laugh at his jokes that she has heard all month on other shows.
My favourite part about watching Ricky on podcasts is Jane in the background(with all her friends) laughing at his jokes and comments. If you find your partner hilarious it makes for a long, healthy, and fulfilling relationship.
I've been watchin' Bobby Lee's Tiger Belly recently...I find it hysterical...Plus it's kept me off the proverbial ledge...In truth I'm only on the second floor, so I'd probably sprain an ankle at worst...But I bet that would smart a wee bit!
I have never been a fan of Jim Norton's stand up but I always thought he was amazing on the radio. However, his new stand up special was really fucking good and changed my opinion about his stand up. I look forward to his next special.
I've always loved Ricky Gervais, and even though he purports to be a cocky prick on his social media, he comes across as a very intelligent and insightful person in interviews, he's great. Seeing him live in October, absolutely buzzing, cannot wait!
Ricky's been out perfecting his craft. What a trooper . Steps into the stand up arena like a courageous gladiator, oiled and taught and crisp and steadfast. We love you Ricky, we sheeplike spectators at the the edge of the joke battlefield, in awe of the wit and comedy cunning of our hero. It is a real tragedy that we were prevented from seeing you perform with your hero and mentor, Bernard Manning. He was tragically cut down on the eve of the launch of the Bernie and Ricky Chuckle Express Eastern European tour. Keep your chin up Ricky, you are so close to perfecting your craft.
Omg thought the same as Sam, LoL. But can’t tell if jimmy set that up or slipped up, his quick eye twitching and lame “these are really fancy shirts” ya okay...haha
I'm basing this on no inside info at all, but I really don't think it's that they specifically had any sort of falling out or anything. I think it's just more they'd each reached points in their respective careers where what felt naturally for them to do next is what they then did (not as partners), and as life tends to do, it just kind of went on from there and here we are today.
I would still pay a lot of money to kickstart a new “An Idiot Abroad” featuring Rich Vos and Karl Pilkington traveling together, it would be amazing. Call it “Idiots Abroad”
1:50 had me cry laughing 😂 the way he asks "do you have glade in America" like he's going to make some profound point or joke... "because it fucken stinks in here" 😂😂😂😂
Bruce Martin Dunning Kruger Effect(Definition 2): a hilariously ironic insult which Libtards use to describe those who don't agree with their child like world view
The "where did you learn to whisper, on a helicopter?" for a 'stock' heckle response, I'd never heard that before it's hilarious. The main one I know as being an established thing as "You're holding a beer, I'm holding a microphone; clearly god has a plan".
Just finished watching Gervais' Netflix series AFTER LIFE, .clever and kept my interest throughout. Happy to find a series, I could watch past 10 minutes and not exit and go searching for something else. (I've seen Breaking Bad [loved it] and some of the other Netflix series before Netflix offered them, many years ago.)
Given that I'm watching this on the 4th of July coupled with the fact that I love Gervais, I'm beginning to second guess this whole independence thing.
Every joke I make is a response to an uploaded image and reaches 250 million, I'm proud I've gotten 100,000 upvotes in 3 years, and what makes me happy is that every upvote is someone I make smile
The British entertainment industry gave a dinner in honour of Dean Martin. Tommy Cooper gave a speech. One of the things he said was, "Dean Martin went on an alcohol diet, He lost 5 days in one week".
My dad said to me once ...your either FAT with NO wrinkles OR THIN with wrinkles???? I said ......WHAT SORT OF CHOICE IS THAT ?????? THAT`S NOT A CHOICE ????? Hahaha!!!! xxx HEY !!! Love you Ricky xxxx Your a STAR xxx
Love Ricky but whenever I hear him now I think of Jay Mohr's impression XD 22:57 - "Someone not getting your joke isn't your problem, its their's" Spot on
I love how Jane has such a sweet and lovely character, but has an awesome sense of humour. I bet she's also hilarious and probably feeds Ricky a lot of his.....what if she was the brains of the whole operation!!!
Good to see Jane in the background there with her friends.
brilliant.
It's great to see Jane's reaction to Ricky's humour, given that they live together. I'm always curious whether comedians get the same reaction from their partners compared to the public.

HMichael Hawkins
Well they’ve been together from about when I was born and I’m 36
Jane and her friends, reading the newspaper
I like the fact that Jane still genuinely laughs at Ricky jokes, that for me is a good marriage
They aren't married.
She has to laugh at everything Ricky says. It's in the contract.
His worth about 90 million. Im sure that helps. No marriage no prenup.
Si Wakeman what are you sprouting? bullshit. total bullshit thats what. Ricky and Jane have been together since they were young. They are atheist. Why would they get married. No animals get married. love how jim instantly stops talking when the guest starts. great host
unlike Sam
Good that you noticed that, not a lot of people do!
Love the profile pic
Howard Stern could learn from Jim
Motor mouth Sam 🤫
"it was dark, he was wearing a ski mask and he was giggling"
that had me in stitches for so long
All I can concentrate on is Jane's little smiley face in the back!
Wild Mitchell She seems like she'd make a great partner.
Ricky? Ehhhh not so much lol
Wow thanks. I scrolled down in the middle of the thing and now I do too.
She's adorable lol Hope I have a woman like her when I'm his age... I'd go with her now to be honest :) Hit me up Jane! ;)
Wild Mitchell where
Gervais is my favorite guest on any show.
nataskaos Ricky Gervais and Bill Burr can make even the dullest shows entertaining
Very true! But FOR MEEEEE Karl Pilkington is still number 1
And I’m sure you love Big Bang Theory ...
Bill burr and ricky g have the best banter on this show
His is extremely intelligent and calculated. And one of the funniest men ever to live.
Gervais holds such a great conversation on this show. Like him or not, the guy is an amazing thinker
My favourite part about watching Ricky on podcasts is Jane in the background(with all her friends) laughing at his jokes and comments. If you find your partner hilarious it makes for a long, healthy, and fulfilling relationship.
I agree, they clearly have an amazing relationship given how he talks about her as well as watching her in the background.
I love that we can see Jane reacting in the background
Love Ricky Gervais, his XFM show with Steve & Karl got me through some dark days
Forgot to pay his electricity bills.
I've been watchin' Bobby Lee's Tiger Belly recently...I find it hysterical...Plus it's kept me off the proverbial ledge...In truth I'm only on the second floor, so I'd probably sprain an ankle at worst...But I bet that would smart a wee bit!
Yes same here
I've never read a more relatable comment
OVEN!!!!!
59:43 Great to hear some love for Patrice coming from Gervais! Patrice will always be one of my favorites:)
My first Jim and Sam show...I was NOT disappointed...I know you guys were waiting for my go ahead to continue the show...Carry on my wayward sons.
Jane in the background, still laughing at all his jokes after 40 years - relationship goals :)
I have never been a fan of Jim Norton's stand up but I always thought he was amazing on the radio. However, his new stand up special was really fucking good and changed my opinion about his stand up. I look forward to his next special.
he's so fucking fast at thinking of jokes, i think his ability to improv is his best skill by far
He was one of the top comics on Tough Crowd With Colin Quinn.
That's comedy royalty. He's funny as hell to me.
Anyone notice that if you took his hair off, the dude next to him is actually Karl.
Bloody hell, yeah!! 😂
😂😂😂😂
Holy shit!
Weird, init?
Fuzzy headed, yank twat
Ricky Gervais is the funniest comedian out of Europe hands down
if your refering to british comedians that toured the states then fair enough. But he's definitely not the funniest comedian in britain
Subjective but I love Ricky but still think Lee Evens, Jimmy Carr and Frankie Boyle are better at stand up
look up Eddie Izzard, you'll piss yourself
Billy Connolly
Nocturnal Howlings Jimmy Carr and Frankie Boyle are more funny than Ricky.
" d' ya know wha' I mean? "
-Ricky 'Oasis' Gervais
It should have a d' ya know wha' I mean? counter in the corner of the screen
Surprised he never shook off that unfortunate habit.
Ricky is one of the greatest everything's of all time, actor, comedian, guest, humans! Genuinely the funniest human i can think of.
Ricky is one of the best natural comedians of all time.
I love that you can see Jane laughing in the background too.
I love that Jane is giggling her head off in the background! Ricky is so funny with you guys.
So much love for Jane.. sat there pissing herself with laughter. Brilliant. 💕
I could live for a million years and still never understand how people find Jim Norton funny.
I've always loved Ricky Gervais, and even though he purports to be a cocky prick on his social media, he comes across as a very intelligent and insightful person in interviews, he's great. Seeing him live in October, absolutely buzzing, cannot wait!
You should watch the interview he did with Lawrence Kraus. Available on YT
The joy on everyone's faces. Fantastic to watch and hear. Great show guys.
"Stupid people are arrogant, because they miss the bit of the brain that tells them they're wrong." interesting, professor Gervais 😆
Mythagoras true though.
The Dunning-Kruger effect (sp?)
Love Jane reading the newspaper in background.
Ricky's been out perfecting his craft. What a trooper . Steps into the stand up arena like a courageous gladiator, oiled and taught and crisp and steadfast. What the fuck have you been reading?
For some reason when Ricky talks I'm always in the mood for the first track on Be Here Now.
I love Ricky. He’s a great comedian with such a brilliant mind. Perfect for stand up.
2 yrs ago? Jane is unbelieveby awesome :).
-I thought only dresses come in those sizes.
-Well we all have our lifestyle choices.
Gold
Omg thought the same as Sam, LoL. But can’t tell if jimmy set that up or slipped up, his quick eye twitching and lame “these are really fancy shirts” ya okay...haha
Lol Jane in the back laughing at Ricky’s jokes 😂
Gervais and Stanhope are my favourite comedians. I'm glad to hear Ricky metionning him as one of the best
Brings a smile to my face every time they bring up Patrice O Neal
Norton looks like one of the little turtles in Super Mario World.
Drummers Eve it's a koopa/ koopaling but ye good point
He has a little goomba head
No, he looks like the aliens from Fire in the sky.
Norton "there's nothing worse than a black nerd"
O'Neal "except, maybe, a white shell-less turtle"
- Tough Crowd
A poopa 😂
I listened 3 times
why does nobody ever ask about Stephen Merchant? I'm dying to hear what happened between them two.
He was good in Wolverine :)
Huck's Gaming channel wouldn't surprise me if they're told not to go there
Norm bothered Steve about that on his youtube podcast - the last or second to last one to come out. Go check it out.
what show is this ?
I would still pay a lot of money to kickstart a new “An Idiot Abroad” featuring Rich Vos and Karl Pilkington traveling together, it would be amazing. Call it “Idiots Abroad”
I just enjoy watching Jane being both amused and embarrassed in the back. :D
"That's not cryptic... it's craaaap"- RockBusters
Num47 Wet knee Houston
Shake a can
I would love to hear Jane talk about Ricky!
Watched this video maybe 4 times now & always the best thing is watching Jane cracking up in background :D
Somthing about he's laugh that makes me smile every time...
I love jim and sam and Ricky has a ball on this show. They are all crazy funny when ricky shows up.
Ricky Gervais is the definition of comedy talent, everyone understands him. Fucking genius and hilarious.
40:47 I love his Morrissey impression XD
I love watching Jane in the background. 😂x
1:50 had me cry laughing 😂 the way he asks "do you have glade in America" like he's going to make some profound point or joke... "because it fucken stinks in here" 😂😂😂😂
Jimmy looks great for his age
He looks great for his genus.
Does he? He's 28.
Anyone else just watching Jane in the background cracking up :)
It’s nice to know she genuinely finds Ricky funny.
Dunning Kruger Effect: In simple words it's "people who are too stupid to know how stupid they are".
Bruce Martin Dunning Kruger Effect(Definition 2): a hilariously ironic insult which Libtards use to describe those who don't agree with their child like world view
Yet totally accurate
not quite. it's where low ability people overestimate themselves and people who know what they're doing underestimate themselves
The "where did you learn to whisper, on a helicopter?" for a 'stock' heckle response, I'd never heard that before it's hilarious. The main one I know as being an established thing as "You're holding a beer, I'm holding a microphone; clearly god has a plan".
Jim always takes it THERE straightaway 😂
That said, Legacy Box is amazing ❤️❤️
Just finished watching Gervais' Netflix series AFTER LIFE, .clever and kept my interest throughout. Happy to find a series, I could watch past 10 minutes and not exit and go searching for something else. (I've seen Breaking Bad [loved it] and some of the other Netflix series before Netflix offered them, many years ago.)
What a couple of queens. "Shopping is sooo hard!"
Nice to see an American comedian who isn’t super condescending to Ricky
It's great to hear that Ricky also loves 'Sitting' by Cat Stevens. What a great track
I'm off to see Rickey tonight in Toronto. Can't wait!
I spent the entire time looking at Jane's reactions
Holy shit... I was in NYC for my anniversary and our first stop was the the Fat Black Pussycat for that exact show! Only came here to hear Gervais!
So cool to see Ricky shouting out doug stanhope 👍👍
"When people can't control their own emotions, they'll try and control other people's behavior."
Given that I'm watching this on the 4th of July coupled with the fact that I love Gervais, I'm beginning to second guess this whole independence thing.
The guy who's sitting next to Ricky litterally looks like Karl with hair
Ricky genuinely didn't want to leave for the commercial, so cool :)
Every joke I make is a response to an uploaded image and reaches 250 million, I'm proud I've gotten 100,000 upvotes in 3 years, and what makes me happy is that every upvote is someone I make smile
Is that Karl's hairy brother to the left of Ricky?
Why Ricky hasn't been invited on JRE yet?
Dunning-Kruger-Effekt btw^^
I find it hilarious that I've been reprimanded for using words with more than 3 syllables
I love when Sam cuts in.
jane cracking up
Ricky is such a good actor he can even make it look like he wants to be there.
He has said that he loves doing the show.
He loves the show, he liked O&A but not as much as J&S because it’s still better than any other radio show, but less craziness and try-hard than O&A.
He usually requests to do the show when Rich Vos is there, he likes Vos like an American Karl Pilkington.
Sam Roberts makes me feel like creepy uncle just played icky tickle with me in a dark celler.
In the last five or so years, the most successful thing Ricky has done is revise Steve out of the Office and Extras.
Such a genuine man Ricky is.
Ricky needs to bring Karl on these with him
Ricks laugh is contagious
jim and ricky and anthony cumia are legends
sam is okay
OPIE IS DEAD TO ME
The British entertainment industry gave a dinner in honour of Dean Martin. Tommy Cooper gave a speech. One of the things he said was, "Dean Martin went on an alcohol diet, He lost 5 days in one week".
Really interesting info about being a comedian x
50:12 Glad you guys found somewhere to put your 'pudding'!
I just like watching Jane in the background laughing at what Ricky says and facepalm
I really enjoyed the dynamic between these three :)
Ricky Gervais is sooo funny. Who else agrees? 🤣
Love Ricky but whenever I hear him now I think of Jay Mohr's impression XD
22:57 - "Someone not getting your joke isn't your problem, its their's" Spot on
"We all have our preferences" reminded me of Majestic Ape in Comet pingpong, when they were talking about little boys and girls.
The Charlie Rose bit. Lol!!!! Prophets.
the joke about nearly knocking down the old lady and raping her was a fantastic joke, brilliant misdirection, you could never see that coming hahaha
I bet the old woman didn't either...
Badum TSSS!!!
The gallons of booze are probably giving Ricky boyancy.
nah its the stilton, lol
Gruesome Fate all caps when you spell the man name
Dalian Moya omg an MF DOOM profile pic! better quote the most overused line of his. Lol
If you'd said 'what a niggy know' I'd have been impressed
Supreme Buffalo I mean, he said someone's name, so I tried to stay relevant to the comment
Clever!
I'm just poking fun. No harm intended.
i just watch jane smiling :)
1:11:46 That is the face of a woman who is realizing the real Ricky is coming out now
I love how Jane has such a sweet and lovely character, but has an awesome sense of humour. I bet she's also hilarious and probably feeds Ricky a lot of his.....what if she was the brains of the whole operation!!!
34:00 ish, he's talking about the dunning-kruger effect.
GOOD show!
my god this was hysterical!
15:03 Humanity is fucking hilarious 😂🤣😂🤣
how does this channel still only have 88k subs. should be a milly at least
RUclips doesnt like this.
