I agree. I will ALWAYS be there in any of my animal's final moments. I'm so sorry that happened to you and your precious horse. It happened with one of my dogs, too. That's been almost 30 years ago, and I still can't think or talk about it without crying and feeling sick to my stomach. You never get over it.
Your veterinarian is brilliant, so gifted. These horses are so fortunate to have her. I know a lot of physicians and some rise above, and she’s one of them.
My heart clenched when I saw the mare with the cut tail come off the trailer. I know what that cut tail means. It broke my heart. Hearing later that she's colicking and in pain, and it's likely the person who cut the tail as a keepsake has no idea she was left suffering and dumped into the slaughter pipeline just wrecked me. I'm so angry at whoever betrayed the person who loved this mare and allowed her to go through such pain for a few damn bucks. How awful. 😢

The last act of kindness for these horses is such a gift. Thank you so much for continuing through all the emotional pain of ending lives so you can save more. 😢❤❤
That grey stallion is stunning! Once he gains some weight and has a good brush down he's going to be glowing, can't see him being around too long someone's going to snap him up in no time. Also that blind draft is so precious, praying someone with some space/land will adopt the old girl so she can live out her life in peace after so many foals
Your gifts aren't just to the horses. Every adopter is gifted with a beautiful animal, information that they can trust is accurate, and less expensive.

What a team. You all work well together and get the intake done. I don't know where Dr Lydia gets her energy. She never slows down. Thank you all for the work you put into these rescues.
Prayers your way for the sick and weary, and troubled. May God help you through your struggles and give you renewed strength to face the days ahead. God Bless You All. You do great work keep it up.❤❤❤😊
That old grey stallion is beautiful . Oh that baby will be just gorgeous!! Our stallion lived to be 37 years old. He retired at a sanctuary down the street where he had all the care an elderly horse needed. We visited him often. We saw him every day when we would drive by stop and say hello & bring treats . He had some health issues that cost 1000s of dollars to correct. He got better & ran that beautiful sanctuary. My mother couldn't afford the ongoing veterinary care he required. But surrendering him to a beautiful full spectrum care facility / sanctuary, sure honoured him much more dignity, respect & comfort , than the brutal journey down the slaughterhouse pipeline.
It's hard to imagine how people allowed these precious horses to get neglected like they are. How inhumane. There should be a place for them behind bars.

The white Stud is beautiful and a shame you got him to late. Please can you tell us his story afterwards like you have others that you have had to give the last act of kindness to. They are very informative and are the ones who have captured our hearts when they came off the trailer
No details are needed. Good energy to any staff who are out of action right now who need it. That draft stallion seemed fine with things going into his mouth as long as it was grass. The trick with the hay bales is a good one. You might still get knocked on your rear, but the force wouldn't be concentrated. I'm glad the mare wasn't pregnant. She has enough to deal with over the next few weeks.
