I was there. No segregation no problems, and the chanting was the loudest I ever heard "BERMINGUM.... ALBÈEYON". Deafening to my 10 year old ears. Blues were the better side but Baggies had that magnificent strike force. I was in tears afterwards, and my big brother slapped me around the head and said "It's the Blues... get used to it!"
I did, and I've never blubbed over the useless buggers since!
I was there with the other 68,000,at Villa Park, Birmingham played very well, and were unlucky on several occasions, the turning point I think which was not shown, was when Fred Pickering played through the Albion off-side trap just after half-time, ran 40 odd yards, to the edge of the penalty area, and hit a ferocious shot which was going in the top right corner, but John Osborne flung himself and just finger tipped it around the post, great shot and great save! After that the Albion always threatened and Tony Brown hit the winner!
I was in the Holte End right in line of Talbut's clearance off the line, which was as important as the goals. I was so in line with the ball I attempted to head the ball away. 😁Great defending.
I was at that game 😢
Os ingleses são fanáticos por futebol mesmo que bonito ver o estádio cheio
was there, and for all the other rounds as well,...another missed chance for us blues fans, played well, just didn't have any luck that day....we beat arsenal and Chelsea on the way to that semi.
God I bet Villa fans were green with envy that day. And having it played on their own ground too. Mind you the venue was rarher an obvious choice.
