It's horrible to look at Trautmann leap and jump and roll with a broken vertebreae! He could have just dropped dead, his spine severed, right there on the grass...
a real hero. a real man who never would have lifted a finger against will who welcomed and loved him despite his "Nazi history"! He suffered a lot for the loss of a son but was able to return to one of the greatest goalkeepers in the history of football. for how he played and gave to football he won only one trophy and this is an immense sporting injustice! as good as Mr in his short career of him! honor to him who risked death just to keep faith with his passion and team!
How did City do that? They have no history, weren’t founded until 2008 and have no fans, or so the cerebrally challenged ones keep telling us! I used to stand behind the goal at Maine Rd so that I could watch Bert. What a goalkeeper! It must all have been a dream.
Bert Trautmann was my late mother’s hero, she and my aunt followed City all over in the 1950’s including the 2 FA Cup finals in 1955 and 1956. A few years before he died, I took them both to meet him, he was in Waterstones in the centre of Manchester signing copies of his book, they both met him, had a chat with him and he signed their books, they were like a pair of schoolgirls who were approaching their 80’s. A very special moment. What a legend Mr Trautmann, made my mums day.
Had it for years as a Chelsea fan. Apparently we didn't exist before 2003 and bought every trophy. No club has ever had a big money benefactor before us apparently. Don't remember them saying similar when Jack Walker bankrolled Blackburn in the 90's. Just take it on the chin - you're doing great
3:30 if you're looking for the Trautmann incident
One of the greatest performances of all time.

20 thousand protest for him being allowed to play in top division.. in the end everyone loved him…
My dad was in the crowd. So was his sister, my auntie. Both Man City fans .
Both gone now, but I still have the City rosette my dad wore at the match.
Imagine kicking a cannonball around for 90 minutes?? It certainly was a different game then. Trautman was and still is a hero. Chris x

"The Cup Final", as in the (English) Premier League Championship ("Cup Final")?!?
The FA Cup Final obviously
@@jackr5407 ummm, it's not that obvious; hence my question.
@@mariusmatei2946 Yes it is to anyone who’s watched more than 5 games of football
@@jackr5407 "5 games of football"?!? Watch it, now; the world of football Does Not come down to the (English) premier league (championship)!!
@@mariusmatei2946 Mate, you’re waffling now. The fact you thought ‘The Cup Final’ meant Premier League shows you know very little about football
Im here after City won Treble
No fans no history is just jealousy by rivals
