    You are way too smart to be wasting time as a mail carrier and not a union rep. I think we need you as THE union president. You are absolutely right about everything you said so please get into the union and actually help us carriers because it’s getting really bad at the post office❤

    We have a national arbitration decision. "Management may not use DOIS as a sole determination of a carriers leave and return time." Don't sweat it. Just say, "what are you using to determine my time." As long as your not sandbaging you have nothing to worry about. Also, there is no street standard, don't let them bully you.

    We used to have a 15 minute load time in rural mail count. If you are a sub on a route, you use load truck. A heavy day, it's longer!

  • @edmcateer3162
    @edmcateer3162 15 дней назад +5

    That 22 min is used for route adjustments/inspections. Loading a vehicle is on street time. There is no street standard.

    Yup, I've never seen it enforced, but I have heard that it is required to load truck every package. I always case my SPRs and load them in trays with flats for each loop. I do load truck all of my bags that are in the back.

    Once the carriers start heading out to load here the supervisors go to the dock and watch everybody. One of them will walk out and walk thru all the parking spaces watching to see if anyone is talking to their neighbor and they yell at them.

    My post master called me at the station one day and bitched me out for 20 mins for not using load truck because packages weren’t delivered… but BUT I was off that day but she wasn’t trying to hear it. I still got the blame. Now I always use it.

    Load toll can actually help you when tjey tell you you have packages out for delivery, but those packahes came in at 1:30pm. It will show them it never got loaded

    Im a rural carrier PTF. None of our rural carriers use load truck. Most use parcel markers.
    Doesnt seem like load truck is an offered service if it isnt even used by a whole craft

    I just started a new route a week ago. For now i use load truck to get my packages sorted. In 2 months I’ll scan it to know i have it but won’t need the number order. The only reason I use load truck at that point is so if the scanner fails to record the delivery i can say 2 days later if they ask, if it was loaded on my truck it was delivered, if not, i didn’t have it. The scanners suck.

  • @FatkidIRL

    We were told we had to load truck so management can see what parcels we had cause the PM told the carriers in a standup that they know someone is stealing parcels. They didn't start pushing the 22 min load time till about a month or so ago but its been quiet for the past week once the district finished reviewing 1 of the 3 zipcodes we handle.

    I like alot of your content. You still new in the business. But you telling everyone that you do not use load truck and so on. Then you are not seeing the bigger picture and maybe cut corners too. I use my load truck if its 50 or 100 parcels. I’m here to make money and put all on my 3996 if its gonna put me over on my day. Peple put it on management, if it takes 20-40minutes more to load the truck then do so. If they require you to make 8hrs put it on them. They will have to send you help or you ride it out till your finished. With the exception of retriction ppl.

    Anytime I have used the load truck feature The managers use it as a way to punish us if there's even the slightest problem with the delivery

  • @oofatony

    So if your route requires more than 22 minutes to load, then when that time has expired show the stupivisor it can’t be done leave the mail on the loading dock & drive away.
    Wire cages are hazardous to use for carriers. I have seen wires become unraveled causing injuries. Some serious some minor. File a grievance. If necessary file every day.

    Office time & load time comes from the TIAREAP memo. The hour office & 22 mins load comes from averages and are only parameters… not a standard.

  • @jaykirksey9466
    @jaykirksey9466 15 дней назад

    They tell us on Sunday, it should take 15 minutes to load, which is ridiculous.
    But package drops should be between 22-25 drops per/hr...and I routinely am dropping close 35-40 an hour

    My sup likes to push us to get clocked over to the street whether people are ready or not and then complain when our load times suck. 😂 He's the one that wanted to push us to the street which is where the load time comes into play. No one to blame but themselves. It's another unrealistic number game they like to play. It comes from the very top. They're getting pressed right now.

    I don't care much for eta given. I will not case, load or carry route like so and so. everyday is unique. Give me whatever time you want I will RMS at 1pm if I feel like I can't make your crackhead time. My scanner tracks location I will do my job safely and efficiently I will also take 10 minute breaks and I will go to restroom as many times as I need this or any hazards I may face does not count with your eta that's extra.
