Two positive story’s from Bangor,Northern Ireland. Last year, Mum died ,leaving a beautiful Discovery apple tree in our family home of 56 years, which had to be sold. I tried everything from taking cuttings etc. The tree was too big to move. So,I’ve just planted my own Discovery apple tree. Also , for the first time, I have success with ginger. It was planted 20/1 and I have three plants. Happy spring everyone and lovely to see you back.

Welcome back, hasn't this winter been wet, windy etc here too in West Sussex ! It's water logged at my Allotment, as there's a spring running through it, but I am enjoying the odd sunny day up there, tidying the greenhouse and potting up strawberry plants from runners 🍓my potatoes are chitting and I've got some new raspberry plants to plant!

I never do well during winter. I live alone with my dog and its very lonely, especially in the long dark evenings, so im sooooooooo excited for the upcoming weeks/months. I hope we have a better spring than last year..
I was out in my garden today. I grow veg and fruit in my back garden. I planted a new Peach tree in a huge pot. Im so excited to see it blossom 🌸 and hopefully i will get some peaches. I also planted my new rhubarb plant. Its also a Timperly Red.. Its 2 years old apparently, so wont ba able to harvest this year 😞 slso got a new gooseberry bush to plant out. Im going to train it up a fence.
I adore Hellebores. Ive now got 7 plants. All fairly new, but looking forward to seeing them grow.. I have a few beautiful flowers too... Potatoes in soon 😊

Love the sound of your robins and they are so cute, we don’t have them where I live. Looking forward to seeing your plot in full spring glory and abandon. I’ve been growing Potato Onions and they are very prolific in my garden (Mediterranean climate) and I get decent sized onions. I just save some for replanting next year. Supposed to be stronger than shallots but milder than onions.

Southern UK here and robins will immediately start watching you if you start disturbing the ground. They're supposedly territorial but we often get 2 or 3 at a time.
They'll sometimes take mealworms from your hand. UK's favourite bird for a reason.

Great video, glad you are back on the plot. So much to do at this time of year and yeah its been soooo wet this year! As I was watching couldn't help noticing the fences - I tend to grow peas up the fences having created a boarder for the peas to get transplanted once germinated and are around 6 inch tall (I sow into guttering and the slide the peas into the bed). Using the fences then means I have the usual beds for other veg. Looking forward to seeing how your year comes along.

spot on Kat, Grow what you eat not eat what you grow. this year I'm growing about 10 varieties of tomato which next year will be about 3 or 4 Vars but more of them and that will allow me to dedicate some space to the Melons I want to grow. if the worst comes to the worst you can grow your shallots in pots 1ltr if you want small pickling ones or 2ltr for bigger shallots😊

Are you going to allow your husband the honour of wielding a chainsaw to help remove the dead tree? Mr Robin looks to have the same markings as the robin you gave a large worm to last year not that he seemed to know what the huge wriggling thing was.
Down here (Christchurch, New Zealand, Southern hemisphere) it's moving towards late summer, the days are already marginally shorter but we've been very dry, warm and windy, which has caused multiple large fires which have stretched the local fire brigades. My corn is ready to pick, and being corn it's probably ALL ready, while my 'early girl' tomatoes are ripening quite quickly. Although in saying that my 'snack peppers' seem to be taking awhile to change. It's just me why do things have to change so quickly for this boy!

Hey what is this? The beautiful Kat, some shed DIY and Mr Robin too, all in one video. And spring is coming. Life is good eh?

Being in Eastern Canada it is so nice to live vicariously through your channel while it is -15 outside here! I can't wait for spring this year too. I try to enjoy winter, but it has not been a nice one here. I am curious if anyone else from Canada has any good sources for hellebores here. They seem to be a bit harder to find, but I would love to add a few to my garden.
