What I love Janie is the love and support Jason shows for your discipline and determination to get the job done! It’s so evident you and he have a wonderful it’s whoever sees something that needs done done relationship ! Children home garden for sure . What an example of adult living relationship true friendship! Reg is a partner like Jason he shares in my passion as I his . How do you get everything accomplished with children ? Oh I remember ours are grown and still cannot get everything done in one day ha ha! I hope all viewers see the value of your life lessons! Thank you for all you do by bring your genuine selves!
Tell Sadie she will always, always remember when Monty ate her homework! Someday it will be a treasured memory. The love Monty gives and receives from all of you makes him “worth” his antics. There is nothing like the pure love of a dog. Love to all of you and just know how much I appreciate you sharing your family.💕💕
Looks fabulous! Have you thought about not planting behind Robbie because of the size of willow. Using what is behind and using elsewhere. Just a thought.
Good point. I was thinking it might be crowded plus the gate issue. Janey could use them on the other side by the Gladiolus like she mentioned and won't need to order more. 😊
Janey! You have the best husband in the world!!! You tell him that too! For any husband to quit his job and help his wife on her youtube channel is awesome!! He is such a hard worker and soooo funny! And not afraid to do a video on his own!! Anyhoo just had to throw that in there! The hedge is gonna be amazing!!!!
Great choice! I planted Yardline Viburnum on the property line to block out the neighbors' ugly mess. Just like you I needed something evergreen and tall but not very wide. I'm hoping they grow fairly quickly because to save money I purchased the quart size.
Learn from my mistakes, I would have planted at least 4 ft from the fence as things tend to get l larger than expected. It will also help protect your new fence. Best of luck to you on your many new projects! Love your show.
Hi Janey, I agree with most comments. If your willow is the standard willow tree, it has potential to get quite large. I know Laura's Willow is very big and takes up a lot of space. She just recently trimmed it, and I believe she did last year too. Something you might want to consider, is recommendations by other viewers to move a few of those new plants to other spots.Thank you so much for all the great content you send out. You are my favorite garden you-tube channel. I look forward every morning to see what you, Jason, girls and Monty are doing in your garden.
I'm beginning to think Monty needs his own show. He's sooooo Hollywood material...step aside Lassie! You could sell cards with his paw print in your store 😎🤣
The viburnum look awesome! I am so shocked at how much your weeping willow has grown this year! It is so beautiful! I just can’t believe it grew so quickly! Robbie, did good giving you that. It looks so magical!❤❤❤😊
Sadie, I am soooo sorry, but I did laugh at your silly Monte eating your homework. As a former teacher, I had students arrive at my classroom door with assignments in tatters because of their beloved pets and siblings. Depending on how crushed the student was, I often had to hide my laugh, but I always understood that real life happens. Someday, you will laugh too, and you will always remember the day Monte ate your homework. 💕💕💕
Tell us the story of Janey and Jason. How did you guys meet? He seems like a really great guy and you both make a beautiful couple. Happy to see him as interested in gardening as you are 🙂
Janie, on the subject of the propane tank, why not build a cute flower shed over it and Put doors for access in the back for access? Like a little garage that you can use for creating things indoors kind of like Laura’s flower shed? It would be so cute!! And you wouldn’t need to move the propane tank.
That hedge will be very nice. I live in a high traffic ag area. Right now it's rice and walnut season. It's non stop trucks, tractors, harvesters, etc from 5 am to dark. I'm grateful to live in the country. Love it. To me its life.
Oh no - I feel for Sadie - I hope she can forgive Monty for eating her homework! 🤣I love the Yardline Viburnum - I might get some too! Robbie's willow tree has really become a beautiful tree! You guys are doing such a nice job! We can all relate - do what you can as you can afford it and as the seasons allow! Thanks Janey and Jason for sharing!
Well good morning janey jason and of course monty. How beautiful this will be 1 day. Lots of hard work very satisfying to you i'm sure. I think monty is working on his modeling career. He is so funny, How he gets in front of the camera every chance he gets. Have a blessed day the Oklahoma gardener.😊
Aren’t the bushes to close to the fence. Things may grow bigger than the tag says. Are you moving those bushes that were already there? They kind of are spoiling the look of the hedge row.
It's going to be beautiful, but be careful when planting to close to each plant n fence due to growth. Especially if you're going to replace the fence someday.❤
Is that the willow Robbie gave you? If so, it’s grown so much. I’m a huge fan of “trial it and then transplant it.” If the viburnum behind the willow don’t have expected growth, you can always move them.
Janey and Jason. They look so beautiful, cant wait til they start growing a bloom and those red berries are going to be so beautiful. Thats devastating when the dog really gets your childs homework, poor baby, but it turned out ok. Monty boy is quite the little character. Loved this video, your gardens look so very beautiful. Love y'all ❤❤❤❤
Thank you for this video, Jason and Janey! I’ve been trying to find the perfect shrub or tree to line against one of my fences. The Yard Line will be perfect! 🪴
Love a hedge for unity and structure; my experience of those glossy leaved viburnums here in my Australian zone 10 is they are tough as nails and grow like rockets👍🏻
Oh they are looking SO good! Also looking amazing is the willow. My grandparents used Camellias (I think they were sasanqua) for a hedge in one part of their property. They also looked amazing - although Grandfather would have to prune them from time to time.
Your evergreen in the corner looks so beautiful with all the purple flowers below! With that lush green wall behind it, it’s just going to be such a pleasing area to look out and see.
The viburnum will be so pretty and will provide some noise ‘softening’. We have five large hedges on our small lot but no viburnum. We are in Bodega Bay so the winds and sea air can be tough on plants. Because we want to keep our water view open, we end up trimming 3 to 4 times a year. You may not have to trim the viburnum as often. Regarding noise, I had 5 1/2 acres of redwoods and Oaks. As the tan oaks started to die and we took them down, I was shocked at how much road noise I could hear even though we were a mile from any roadway. Trees absorb sound and block wind. Planting trees changes the microclimate around you. I’ll be interested to hear what you notice as you grow your landscaping! Your husband and you are so darling together… He is like my husband, complementary and supportive.❤❤
Your new plants look so lovely, and oh Monty eating poor Sadie’s homework when kids tell their teachers this most would think oh sure but your dog literally did eat her homework bless her,I had a dog that once ate my paycheque and had to tell my boss so embarrassing I did have a teeny bit of evidence to show he really did eat most of it haha and she just gave me another one, glad it all worked out for Sadie 😊❤️🌼🌸🍁🍂🐾
Hi Jason and Janie. Everything looks amazing! I also cannot believe how fabulous Robbie the Willow is looking! Just a thought but why don’t you replace the fence small sections (12 ‘ ) at a time. This way you don’t need to worry about planting and it is less of a nut at one time. 😊❤
I'm not experienced with growing willows. Maybe they are fast-growing and I just didn't know. But I can't believe how much your "Robbie-gifted willow tree" has grown! That's amazing!
Road noise assistance: have you considered taking a few of the red grass from the zig zag planter, divide them and place them along the outside of the fence where you planted the Yardline?
Wow, that is going to be stunning in spring! I had to laugh at Monty eating homework homework, she will laugh one day to, good memories of a special puppy ❤️
Great! And another option since my neighbors built an adu house with two windows overlooking our property. It's 4 ft from our fence with two windows. Need privacy. Thanks for the ideas and again you guys are a great team
🍂Hi Janey and Jason 🐕 Oh wow I'm excited to the hedges full grown Monty is a character only goats eat paper I so enjoyed this video like to see when you're planting makes me want to go out and do the same in my yard, have a wonderful rest of the day and weekend 🙂 👋 🍁
Looks great. I did a mixed screen in my yard because I was a little worried if some died at some point. I have tea olive, Carolina midnight lorapetulem and American pillar arborvitae. I also have some chindo viburnum. Would love to try some yardline viburnum next year as well
That looks so good! Very pretty plants 😊 Just imagine how much they are going to grow in the next year!! I’m so happy for you and all of the fun changes you’ve been making!!
Jason ,you did excellent job yesterday, the tree looks gorgeous ❤ thank you Jason for your hard work❤ if you create youtub for Men and women, Diy gardening, you guys will make more money❤
Janey, having done garden maintenance for 35 years in SoCal I can attest to the fact that Viburnum ALWAYS was plagued with spider mites. Be watchful for silver spotted cast on leaves.
Dear Janey, The time you put seeds around water Tank, I wrote in comment, the only solution to plant Evergreen all around. Please put evergreen all around, when the time comes to move it, you can dig them ,use them somewhere else❤
What a lovely viburnum leaf! I have a spot where I wanted to put a tall one that blooms. Now I know exactly which one to get! Thank you. A hedge of them will be dreamy in your garden.
Others may have said this, and I apologize if I'm repeating, but I love the way the trees in pots look next to your house. I know these are all for planting out in the landscape, but how pretty would it be to have a few and some really big pots next to the house?
The hedge is going to be so pretty. Y’all have made so much progress. I would suggest when you replace your fence to replace the poles with the metal ones. It is more expensive but you don’t have to have those braces that stick out,and I have had some of my poles up for over 10 years. I have been replacing mine as they rotted out. I hope you have a great day.
Goldens are such Velcro dogs🤟🏼. My daughter’s Golden really does think she should be in front of the camera. Our girls are 9 1/2 y/o and she runs over to pose. Mine (her littermate) doesn’t care. I hope Monty enjoys his grass, but treasures it too.
I have a huge property line of over 400’ that we need to plant with a green screen. I do not want all of one plant, but this one seems like a great option to put along that part of the property line. We live in the country too and have a boat repair and storage by us that we would like to screen out. We are in Texas so we do not have a lot of great evergreen options, this one gets me excited!
You guys are doing great!!!! 😊 Please tell Sadie we're all so sorry about her homework😢. Poor thing. Hey Janey. Have you ever heard of a Rainbow Eucalyptus tree 🌈?? Look it up. STUNNING. It's considered one of the top 10 most beautiful trees in the world and you can grow it where you are!!!😊
Hi Janey 🌺. What a beautiful Viburnum hedge it will be amazing . I have Viburnum in my garden and the scent of its flowersis similar to the scent of almond blossoms . Have a lovely day .🌺🌻🌺
It looks soo good. I think having the same plants so you have uniform height either side of the driveway would look lovely 😊 sorry to hear about the homework glad it all worked out 😊
I love the viburnum! The look of it is similar to our shiny coffee shrubs (but the coffee can handle poor soil and more shade too). I keep saying it but I love how your property is coming together! 🌿
The weeping willow has grown so much.
Robbie the willow is stunning 😍

Looks fabulous! Have you thought about not planting behind Robbie because of the size of willow. Using what is behind and using elsewhere. Just a thought.
I agree. There is nothing more beautiful IMO than a willow with ample room to show off its’s graceful limbs. Crowding it just seems a shame. 😢
Good point. I was thinking it might be crowded plus the gate issue. Janey could use them on the other side by the Gladiolus like she mentioned and won't need to order more. 😊
So true my Willow is HUGE .🌳
The hedge is going to look great, and my goodness Robbie the Willow is looking fantastic.
Janey! You have the best husband in the world!!! You tell him that too! For any husband to quit his job and help his wife on her youtube channel is awesome!! He is such a hard worker and soooo funny! She already did on one of her Saturday Q&A’s
So sorry for you kiddo loss of homework. Let's plant! Huggicates Janey!😊
I had no idea a willow grew sooo fast. I wish my property wasn’t so small, I’d love to have one. What a pretty tree!
You two are awesome together! It’s going to look great! Zone 3 Manitoba 🇨🇦👏🍁

The hedge is going to look great, it already brings so much life to the garden edge !! I can’t believe how gorgeous Robbie the willow is! 🥰🥰
Janey your willow tree is going to devour the ones you planted near it. Look how much it's grown in just one year

I don’t see how anyone could possibly get in to build the new fence. Also in the other places of your yard.
Love the new viburnums! Robbie’s gifted Willow tree is looking so good! Amazing how full it is already!

Oh they are looking SO good! Also looking amazing is the willow.
My grandparents used Camellias (I think they were sasanqua) for a hedge in one part of their property. They also looked amazing - although Grandfather would have to prune them from time to time.
I Just had to stop for moment and say the willow tree is beautiful 😍. Okay back to the video!
That will make a beautiful hedge! You two are a great team.
Those viburnums look great. I always enjoy seeing Monty.
I can wait to see how fast these viburnums grow.

Did you have to purchase these or did proven winners gift to you?

love Monty! congrats on hedge. looks great
I can't believe how much the willow tree has grown. She looks beautiful.

Wow, that is going to be stunning in spring! I had to laugh at Monty eating homework homework, she will laugh one day to, good memories of a special puppy ❤️
Weeping willow has grown so much 🙂
I agree with J
Yes of course Monte poses. My golden used to do that all the time.
Monte is too cute! ☺️
The Willow tree looks great too!
Janey, wow, your backyard is coming together. Looks beautiful, great work 👍
The willow tree is growing like a weed! Wow it’s just BEAUTIFUL!
Robbie’s weeping willow has grown so fast it’s amazing! I wish I had room for one. It’s always been my favorite, but they get huge.
Great! And another option since my neighbors built an adu house with two windows overlooking our property. It's 4 ft from our fence with two windows. Need privacy. Thanks for the ideas and again you guys are a great team

Your “Robbie the willow” has grown so much and has filled in beautifully! I need a fried like Robbie!!
Dear Janey, The time you put seeds around water Tank, I wrote in comment, the only solution to plant Evergreen all around. Please put evergreen all around, when the time comes to move it, you can dig them ,use them somewhere else❤
You guys make such a good team! Love the new shrub idea. I also was wondering about the willow. It's grown an amazing amount.
What a lovely viburnum leaf! I have a spot where I wanted to put a tall one that blooms. Now I know exactly which one to get! Thank you. A hedge of them will be dreamy in your garden.
You were a planting machine! lol You did wonderful! They are going to be PERFECT! Love love them!
Love viburnums!!! I have a few in my garden.
Great work done that day, yes paint those yellow posts, once you get those done and the plants moved will definitely look great.
I am glad you don’t want to move the poppies, they are really hard to transplant.

When you replace the gate - perhaps you could think about getting a gate that swings in toward the driveway. Then, no worries about the hedge!
Can't wait to see how it looks in four years 😊
I have a huge property line of over 400’ that we need to plant with a green screen. I do not want all of one plant, but this one seems like a great option to put along that part of the property line. Can I nominate myself as president of Jason's fan club?? 😂😂😂😂
Can l join the fan club? -😂

That Willow tree would have been so nice in the center island
