- Things are coming along well on the plot but it’s definitely feeling autumnal now! Nights are closing in and leaves are turning. Still sowing though, and plenty to be picking still.

For the badgers, you need to urinate all along your boundary - they won't cross the line as its been "claimed"

I have spent this season silently commiserating with you on the critter damage. I garden on property that’s a 45min drive-so I don’t get there every day. But even going every other day I have been coming back to every single bed being destroyed every single trip! So I “replant” everything with my boot 😜🥾Needless to say the plants aren’t thriving!
We have fox, armadillos, raccoons, opossums, skunk-that all can go under the fence. We have found black bear scat outside the fence, sniffing around the melons.
There is a part of me that just wants the season the end and another part wants to “win” the battle!! 👨🏼🌾💪🏼

It appears that your floor in the greenhouse is working out magnificently! Coriander is very easy to collect seed from and the bees (and I) love the flowers. I leave a plant or two to self-seed and have not bought seed in years.
Hubby and I LOVE fried green tomatoes 😋 but I also LOVE a thick slice of beefy tomato and mayo sandwich!

Nice to see the tomatoes are coming along now. And the constant replanting battling with the little creatures of destruction!! I keep getting squirrels jumping in the raised beds that are 2 feet tall. They dig down right next to the stalks about 4-5 inches deep???? WTF are they doing?? Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

You fare so well with domesticated creatures (cats, chickens) but not so well with wildlife (fox, badger, seagull) lol! I can just hear the seagull screaming "mine! mine! mine!"" when it spied then scooped your ice cream (pun intended). Your vids are always entertaining; trials, tribulations, success and joy. How is your home garden doing? Any lovely growth there? No Hallie sighting...
Try putting some or the wire over the bed over the new plated plants for protection.

At least the foxes have gone. We don’t have badgers in my neck of the woods but we do have funny looking creatures called armadillos that I saw looking around the yard one evening. I don’t know if I’d want to go through life wearing armor. Anywho, all my brassica seedlings got attacked by tiny worms some yet to be transplanted looked like skeletons. Grr! 😠. Funny your video got posted here at the usual time on Tuesday so…. Resowing more onion seeds that came in the mail hope these will do better than the last batch. Don’t know what’s with the poor germination. Cheers, have a better week.😊

Jessie is it just me or are RUclips flooding you with the advertising? So many this week I've watched them all you are still just about the only channel that I don't skip them on.
Ahh what an awful lot you have to put up with! Have you considered putting a night camera in to spy on who's doing what and where? I tried this just last week and the stupid thing caught my cat but not anything digging up the broccoli!! I definitely feel the wildlife are organised 🤔 (like in Chicken run... or fantastic Mr fox!)

Woo you won’t be disappointed with the snaps you’ve got Jess. By the sounds of it they’ll be the Chantilly light salmon or Double shot peach. Light Salmon tends to be more apricot and pink, and Double Shot Peach is more of a yellow/apricot. Hopefully that’ll narrow it down a bit 😄 💚

Hello Jessie and Jessie's mom. Here in Nova Scotia, Canada we don't have foxes or badgers. But we do have deer groundhogs and rabbits. I ferment garlic and hot pepper flakes each for a few days and spray it round my garden including the paths. It works a charm and the good Lord.wil charm. It really stinks but humans cannot smell it after a few hours.

Always enjoy your videos but had to laugh at the seagull stealing ice-cream, not the first fish I've lost from being silly enough to try and eat my fish and chips on the water front, very disappointing when you are soooooo looking forward to it 😂😂

Thank you Jessie for mentioning CRIMSON BLUSH blight resistant tomato. I have had good success with them this year. A tiny touch of bight has just started to appear and I wasn't sure what "blight resistant " actually meant until watching you today. I wonder if there is a BIG Italian tomato that is blight resistant to try next year?! I am now trying Cima di Rapa after following you! Happy Birthday to your Mum. The beds with the steel mesh over, why don’t you screw some cup hooks around the edges and then you can use coated wire to tie them down with, same wire can be used at the top of the ends, (personally I would like to set some bear traps but alas….). It is so disheartening when day after day things like that keep happening. I can only admire you and your mom for staying upbeat and bouncing back.

Hi Jess and Mum. Happy Birthday by the way ;) . Mine is in two days time, which means Mum is a Christmas cracker and I am a New years one ;). I really hope that you can get some of the rebel star fighter, I took seeds from the ones which survived the freeland blight wave. They really take time, but are delicious on sandwiches or else raw, just be pacient. I love your cooking suggestions, loved even more that you had my favourite pasta (I use them especially with my Letschostyle soup/pasta sauce).
You have foxes I have deer eating a lot of our greens, lost our chard, sprouting broccoli, beet tops and a few others. If you are still looking for something to hold on your netting on your new covers look for PVC U clips I have and will be using them on the covers I will have to put on my garden beds.
I have foxes digging up my beds. The only thing I've found deters them is chilli powder . Obviously, it's no good when it never stops raining . So, any suggestions are welcome

@@paulinebyrne1321 Great! I made sourdough pancakes, fed starters for Friday baking breads and have a streusel coffee cake with sourdough in the oven now. I’ll leave it to cool while I go to work and pray the family leaves me a piece for tomorrow’s coffee
