  • Hello Guy and Gals,
    Heres a trick to Alien coils / Alien Wire ( A KEY RING )
    I know right! it keeps that core super flat, this can also be used for doing those pesky 3 core fused and Above.
    I recently Tried it with 5 x 30g kanthal and 1 x 40g N80 wrap. crazy easy!!!
    What your gonna need!!!!!
    Snips, Pliers, Drill, Vice,
    wood for vice with swivles attached to it (I just put a screw through the swivel hole and screwed it to the wood)
    Wire 26G and 33G wire or above
    possibly ceramic tweezers (Optional)
    Step 1: Snip 3 lengths of 26G wire approx 12 inches or so
    Step 2: Straighten the wire using your drill and pliers
    Step 3: use your 32G wire or higher, (32 is easier for begginers)
    and clapton one of your cores performing the clapton with a rotation on the drill where the wire will be sucked UNDERNEATH AND away youll see what i mean in the vid
    Step 4: Snip the core at the end of your swivel
    MAKE SURE to apply small amounts of pressure with your snips repeatedly and rotate your drill to slice the wire and leave no jagged edges making it easy to decore your clapton.
    If needed before decoring hold onto the end of the clapton portion of the wire with your pliers and rotate your drill in the opposite direction. This will loosen up the clapton portion making it easy to slide off.
    Step 5: pinch your loose decored clapton into the chuck of your drill and secure tighly
    Step 6: Stretch your clapton until your wire performs a good wave motion. if you over stretch your screwed.
    **** IF NEEDED stretch your core just under where you think your good and try to wrap your alien and if it is to short you can always stretch out a little farther once you have started.****
    Step 7: Clear off your Table and put your core in a wide zig zag motion across the table be carefull that your core dont wrap up on itself
    Step 8: secure your 3 cores into the chuch making sure they are even and will rotate without to much wobble.
    Step 9: USING the OPPOSITE rotation that you performed your clapton secure your decored and stretched wire into the chuck of your drill and slowly start wrapping untll enough base has been layed to pinch with either pliers or your ceramic tweezers.
    ***YOU will see the 3 cores flatten out close together like you want them to be ***
    Step 10: Secure your 3 cores into your swivels
    Step 11: Attach your KEY RING to your 3 cores about an inch from your chuck keeping your wires flat, this attaching point is important the key ring need to be even on both sides of the wire so it does become unbalanced when the drill rotates it
    Step 12: Keeping your hand approx 6 inches from your wire simple lightly grasp your decored clapton and start rotating it onto your cores until you find your groove. try to stay at a 90 degree angle to your cores. if you go to far ahead your wire wont line up in the pattern and will mess up. if you go to far back it folds back on itself.
    Step 13: once youve reached your key ring simply stop your drill and move the key ring another bit.
    **** if you move your key ring to far then it does secure those cores and tightly as you want and they can fold over on themselves when applying the decored clapton.
    JUST Continue to apply this method untill the entire alien is completed.!!!!!!
    Happy Building!!!

    Start going to auctions. Look for antique rope makers. They got a crack handle, a bunch of gears and hooks. As you crank the hooks spin and will automatically braid your wires. Works like a charm.

    • @gbalkam
      @gbalkam 2 года назад

      Where did you come up with "braided wires"? This is a clapton/allien wire video. You don't need a rope maker, just put 2 or 3 wires into the drill, hole the other end with pliers and power up the drill. By the way... have you even ever seen a vape coil? It looks nothing like a rope, maybe a string at best. LMAO.. 1/2 inch braided coil.. hooked up to 110AC power.

    Constructive criticism here. The video is slightly washed out in color you should beable to adjust that in editing even if it's a 'feature' of the camera you use (some cameras auto levelling washes out the video), second thing.. I can see you well and it's framed you.. but I can see nothing of what your building. Suggestion would be to have a close up camera view, then do the build. Then take another video while you watch the build video you made and throw in a Picture in Picture frame of your commentating so your well framed, better detail and quality. and both get the face recognition and see detailed building. As this stands I can almost cut the video and just run audio and learn about the same from this.

      you are 100% correct. I doubt this will be the only alien vid I do and I'll definitely take what you said and put it to good use. I also need some soft lighting to help make the HD pop a lot more

    I just use .5 x.1 ribbon piece as a slide and I get em perfect every time. And it reduces the amount of weight on the cores which also reduce any complications ex: cores start to stack, cores breaking off at the drill, etc

    there's an easier process to straighten wire instead of using the drill, just grab one end with pliers and the other end with pliers and pull hard until you fill it stretch a bit then it becomes straight

    • @gbalkam
      @gbalkam 2 года назад

      doesn't work, there is no way you can pull hard enough to straighten a curled wire and these wires MUST be straight or you end up with either a loose coil or 30 inches wasted wire.

    when I do my aliens, I stretch my initial Clapton less than I should, then fold the alien wire in half, then start wrapping as normal, you'll have it going two times faster because you'll be aliening two strands of wire at a time instead of one.

    Shouldn't safety goggles be worn, just in case the wire breaks and starts whipping around in your eyes?

    • @rsproductions5
      @rsproductions5 7 лет назад

      That will never happen, trust me. Physically impossible unless you stick your face like 2-3 inches from the cores as you wrap.

    never got used to building with keyring. over long core wires seems to be the best way for me . works even with 4 core aliens and fused claptons. nice tutorial though 😉

    great vid been doing this for as long as i can remember but helps the community! and for that i thank you, also i like to pull stretch straighten my wire right off the spool i dont like twisting because if you max twist a single core it gets brittle spots.

    Well done video and I enjoy your narration. But honestly, if you have to explain step by step how to straighten wire, Clapton wire, how to cut wires even, then the viewer should find a more basic build vids until they're ready to try an alien. Because if you don't know how to make some clapton or straighten some cores then you're going to waste a ton of wire trying an advanced coil like a 3 core alien. Baby steps imho. Learn how to clapton perfectly before because that skill will pay huge dividends when wrapping the alien. Just my 2 cents but I enjoy your videos

      Sounds like decent & fair advice. I've been twisting Clapton wire by hand. Got the remaining swivels from the Daedalus kit, shot the drill on it. Use some vise pliers to hold then wind the wire/s.
      I get some pretty tight Clapton. Not sure I'd call it "perfect" but for me it suits. Well, you run 'er slow. Think I might go piddle at nothing. :)

    ive never understood why people have an issue with spinning aliens. i NEVER bind my cores on aliens and they always stay perfectly parallel. i suppose its all in the technique tho. everyone has their own method. anytime ive used a split ring or tape or ribbon wire, it fucks up my cores

    • @m.o.t.rvapes8002
      @m.o.t.rvapes8002  8 лет назад

      yetisuncle your 100 percent correct. it's all about technique.

      M.O.T.R Vapes agreed: i hear alot of people say that the alien is a hard coil to make and that it takes them a long time to make. i suppose everyone is adept at one particular thing over another. because i whip out a set (2) of aliens in 10 minutes, no problem. but a framed staple on the other hand ......that is some time investment

    • @rsproductions5
      @rsproductions5 7 лет назад +1

      Im the complete opposite. framed staples take me 10 minutes and aliens arent the HARDEST thing but the work that they require for the vape they produce isnt worth it too me. Keeping the 3 cores parallel is easy for me i do plenty of 3 core fused claptons but my issue is my coil wrapping OCD. If the spacing isnt perfect its scrapped and anytime i take a pause to adjust my positioning is when the wraps dont line up/wrap cleanly anymore and i say fuck this. Tried stretching my wire before, tried stretching it as i wrap. Just not worth learning imo. Meh

    Hi, thank you for making this video.
    May I know as you are using N80 wire, so when you vape do you vape under temperature control mode for NI coil or can we just vape using the commonly using Power / Wattage mode? Thank you...

    • @m.o.t.rvapes8002
      @m.o.t.rvapes8002  7 лет назад +1

      David Tham N80 is Nichrome wire Ni is Nickle.
      the n80 has a lower resistance to kanthal and gives off a different flavour. it's not a temp control wire

Classy, bro. With an attitude like that you'll likely get what you desire in no time, though I strongly suspect you already know this.
