Not having that on EU5 would be a massive downgrade, many plays i had was to do something like forming germany or italy, and i had lots of fun doing that... I want to restore the roman empire, not because is realistic, but because is a game, and people want a "what if", and this kind of stuff allows that

But some countries like philipines really dont make sense without being spain, so idk, but i would add just because people from philipines want to form their country. Those countries dont even appear without human intervention most the time, so changes nothing

An Italian formable is a must. In the early 1500s Niccolò Machiavelli ended _The Prince_ with a chapter calling on the Medici family to unify Italy as one kingdom under their dynasty. Even if historical unification is out of scope, there are plausible alt history scenarios where people attempt it in this time frame.

If an Italian nation hypothetically conquers all of Italy. Why shouldn't they be able to form Italy? Sounds extremely stupid to me. The historical grand strategy genre isn't restricted to historical events only but should also, at the very least, include plausible alternate history as well. Is it unthinkable that Italy forms a hundred years earlier if the geopolitical climate in Europe is different? I don't think so.

1:18 to be fair your pronunciation is almost correct, you don’t know a specific writing rule of Italian to nail it: when “c” and “g” are followed by “i”, they change sound that usually is described as “sweet c” and “sweet g” (as a linguist, there is a bit more, but let’s go with it for the sake of brevity) and the “i” is not pronounced (unless it’s the only vowel). Basically “ci” is like “ch” in English and “gi” is like “j” in English. “Giacomo” is a variation of “Giacobbe” which is actually the Italian version of the name “Jacob”. This goes for all Italian names (and words) that contains “ci” or “gi”, like “Giovanni”, “Gianni”, and so on. Extra note, when pronounced “i” in Italian is always as in the English pronunciation of “Italian” (it should an easy trick to remember it, although, basically every language except for English pronounce it like that😅). There is a similar mechanism with “e” (think of the word “gelato/gelati”) but I already wrote a wall of text😂
(Edit): after watching the whole thing kudos to Lambert for the pronunciations! Generally correct and when mistaken always in a way that is coherent with the Italian pronunciation, like with “signoria” where he pronunce the second “i” as a jod (“si nyo rya” with English-ish spelling) but is actually a vowel (“si nyo ree a”), however an Italian child (or someone unfamiliar with the word) could make the same mistake.

3:18 as for Germany there was a medieval kingdom of Italy (in fact eu4 Italy uses this kingdom of Italy coat of arms/banner/flag, not the modern one), furthermore, there were but an Italian republic and Italian kingdom during the Napoleonic wars. So it would make sense having Italy as formable, even if all the formable states were those in the spawn of the game. In case you wonder about those Napoleonic Italian states, the first and only president was also the first and only king, a guy named Napoleon😉
