I really appreciate your historic perspective. It coincides with my early interest in music. I played bass (a Teisco violin bass on a Gibson Thor amp) in a successful local band called The Blues Machine. It helped us all with survive high school 🏫 68-70's. Attended Vins Scelsa University of Music on Sirius as a cross-the-country truck driver for 3 years around 2015...really really appreciate both you guys! Thanks Lee!
Ahh, we're back in the garret where this channel started. It's like slipping into a favorite comfy garment or whatever brings a smile. Please tell us about Maureen's progress and how big Romeo is now. Love and Thanks ❤👍❤👍
Like Lee’s infamous pair of old comfy slippers. Well said “slippery” 😁
@w.geoffreyspaulding6588 Helene! Slippery was going to say slippers. But, Slippery saying slippers slips Slippery into feeling like he's slipping.

Allan Clarke is certainly a legendary singer from the 60s. Great to know he’s still out there doing his thing.
Welcome home Lee! I enjoyed all of the tour videos. Hope Maureen is doing well.
In order to keep giving... one must tind the time to take good care of THEMSELVES!... ✌💙💙💙
Thanks Lee for the music today.
Lovely to see you home again, Lee. I hope you get some good rest and get the rejuvenation that only home can provide.
Hey, Leland -- If you want to get a chuckle out of Charles Rose, try this: mention "Clap Hands, Here Comes Charlie." When I was at Murray State and a Broadcasting major, I noticed that a bunch of Music majors in the same building were forming a band and looking for a keyboard player. Now, I had taken 9 years of trombone and 8 years of piano and thought because of my radio work, I had a pretty good idea of what was happening on the music scene, so I drove to Louisville, convinced my dad to take out a loan and buy me a Wurlitzer electric piano. When I showed up at the tryouts, I immediately knew that I was out of my element with these guys, unplugged the piano, and went home. Charles Rose was basically the mastermind of the band and led the horn section. Once they got their lineup together, they named themselves "Clap Hands, Here Comes Charlie." Not sure why they named themselves after an Ella Fitzgerald album, but they were the mack.
This is great! I always really loved his voice! Glad you are home at least for a bit! 🎶🎸👍🐾🐾🐾🤗
Home Sweet Home and your Green Room and Wonderful Allan Clarke's Legendary Heroes! 😊 Thank you! ❤

@splashesin8 Good Morning Audrey ! 😊
@@kateconway-hickman5945 Morning Kate, 😄
I have said it over and over, we are so fortunate to have had such a broad array of unbelievable artists who created the soundtrack of our lives, including the most recorded bass player ever. So grateful for your talent that gave us so many special moments.
I'm a fan of The Hollies. Great songs and amazing vocal harmonies.
I wish the people in Florida all the best. Also, I hope things get better for the people who are affected by the wildfires. Jasper, Alberta got badly damaged from the wildfires.
I wish Maureen all the best. Cheers, Leland! 🙏✌️
Most of north west North America has serious fire problems and it just the first day of August. ⚠
@@artemisXsidecross These wildfires were there for a while. Sad to see.
Thanks for covering Allan Clarke, Leland. I am also a big Hollies fan and always loved the sound of his voice. It’s in the middle of smooth and raspy. His performance on “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother” is one of my all time favorites. I can’t imagine anyone else singing it so beautifully and with such emotion. I never heard his solo work and like the tunes you played. Will get his records now. On another note, I’d love to hear any memories you have about Moby Grape and Jerry Miller who just passed away after his 81st birthday. He was an exceptional guitarist and a great guy. He was loved by everyone who knew him, playing regular Wednesday shows right up to the end. Best wishes my friend 🙏
Good to have you back in the room and thanks again for the Sklar Salute in Spokane. 🙂✌🏼♥️
Thanks, Lee.
The Hollies are such a big part of the music from my youth. As a teenager in the 60s they were one of my favorite bands. My favorite album is the Stop! Stop! Stop! album which I still have. Tell Me To My Face/ Pay You Back With Interest/ Clown/ Peculiar Situation and Stop! Stop! Stop! are all great songs and I still occasionally get the album out and play/ sing along, taking a little trip down memory lane. I’ve always loved Bus Stop ,Look Through Any Window and He Ain’t Heavy too. Also,Dan Fogelberg and Tim Weisberg did a wonderful cover of Tell Me To My Face on their Twin Sons of Different Mothers album. The Hollies will always be a big part of the amazing musical legacy of the 60s and I feel very blessed that I was a young man at that time and able to witness it!
Love these! Always loved The Hollies. One of the Roller rinks I went to lots, got me hooked. 😅 On both The Hollies and Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young. Roller City off of Huron, in the Denver area. Really not too far from where Mark Brooks used to live. Waving at Mark, 😊🌊

You are so kind to think of FL with all you’ve got going on. Hope you’re having fun with Barbra!
As a SW FL coastal resident, I can tell you that the east coast-where I think your dates are-had little damage. Some streets flood in any big rain, but there was no reported significant structural damage.
Debby went up/by the west coast, and we also got a lot of rain. The worst was on the barrier islands and immediate beach neighborhoods, but again, few buildings damaged. (In my county there wasn’t much there to damage after Hurricane Ian).
But even around Sarasota, it was mostly roads closed with a few inches of water, worst closest to beach and very low areas. Especially older homes on ground level, with no or inadequate drainage. But still, not a lot of structural damage or flooding. Same for St. Pete area. Lots of road flooding, worst closest to beaches, old low homes, and low-lying areas. Virtually no building damage seen or reported. (And lord knows there were gazillion you tubers out trying to find something, or make something dramatic) Not much to be found. But if it was your house, it’s still a BFD.
OTOH, today, Tuesday, some low-lying neighborhoods are actually being flooded more bc the rain/flooding that fell farther away is draining its way down to them. A few hundred people had to evacuate long *after* the storm itself passed them.
It got worse, but still not all that, farther north where it came ashore in a much less populated area. But a day or so later, everything is cleaned up and back to normal. I do fear the Carolinas will be much worse off.
Local news talked to soooo many people who were out and about during storm. It was kind of funny, new residents of a year or so were horrified and terrified; those who’ve been here for real hurricanes were ho-hum. I imagine it’s a lot like Cali reactions to minor earthquakes/trembles.
Thanks for the Allan Clarke news. I saw Nash a couple years ago, and he talked very happily about working on the album with Allan.
You reminded me to look for it!
Thanks again for taking the time to show us all those terrific venues, and educate us on the music. Hope all goes well with wife, dogs , truck and tours!🤞👍😘✌️
Both North and South Carolina are expecting massive rain fall and storm surge through Thursday as the storm will continue to generate more dangerous conditions.
Both fire conditions in north west North America and the Hurricane season are just at the beginning of their seasons.
'And the band played on' should not be our closing thought. ⚠
Best of luck and take care.❤❤🙏
Hi Lee. Good to have you back. Thank you for all the Lyle tour videos. Take care of yourself and we’ll all meet up on Wednesday. 😊
Thanks for Allen!!!!! I just picture Big Headphones in that studio!!!!!!
When I think of Allan I think of the hollies. :). Always really did like Allans voice and the Hollies songs.
Welcome back to home Leland and all to whom make it one.
The Hollies tune ‘Just One Look’ had me taking notice of all that was bout to come in recorded music. Bob Dylan’s ‘The Times They Are a-Changin' was released in early ’64; it was to be an understatement. ☮

I saw a title on RUclips "Why Jung Says Don't Ignore Synchronicity." In that vein; just yesterday I was on the phone with an old friend talking about a Hollies concert we snuck into way back in the day. Canned Heat and Rare Earth were the other acts.
P.S. had a great time on the first leg of your virtual backstage tour.

We spun a lot of the Hollies 45s on our Sears console, back in the day. That intro to "Long Cool Woman" sounds easy, and it probably is for most, but took me awhile to get down. Nice to see you. Love your stories. How's Maureen doing? Can you see an improvement? I bet Romeo has grown :)
Looking forward to seeing you at the DPAC in Durham on 9/29.
"The Day That Curly Billy Shot Down Crazy Sam McGee" is my very favorite song from the Hollies.
Has triple shot.......a little Bay city Rollers(background singers).......Robert Palmer(ladies in front) and ELO(whatever that is behind him)!!!!!!
You’re such a lucky guy lee. Playing for Barbra Streisand. She is an amazing lady. Still one of the best singers OF ALL TIME. ❤️ if you don’t like her, there is something wrong with you.
Great story about that drunken driver. Did he order something? 😁
By the way you look better than last time. Not so tired. 👌🏻
Can I make a suggestion? Please don’t take offense.
Your phone records the sound so effectively. That you hear the music coming from that Bluetooth speaker mostly on the right side. A little bit disturbing lee. Again please don’t take offense. When you speak it is always in the middle.
Greetings friend.
The newer phones, mine is a 14, want to be stereo it seems but the speaker sits on one side so it is off kilter. Sucks and I am sorry for it.

know things about the 14, and other iphone models. I know I'm going to
have to
upgrade at some point, and some of them work better in some other ways than others, like braille displays too, and different camera situations. I am not sure what your previous model was, but curious after remembering when you first switched from your previous one the comments about the camera. I suspect that previous model you had might be a better one for me to think about for the ways I use a camera in the phone. (which is to have the phone see things, like through the freezer doors of the grocery store, without being unresponsive due to glare it didn't have like with my current Iphone 6 which is becoming less supported in apps that are updating all the time, like the accessibilty apps. I have been trying an Android which has some versions of some of those apps, but it is unreliable in the scenario described above, I can only guess because it has such a large camera lens. I'm also asking other blindies, about their iphone models, and these things. They all still seem to prefer the iphone 6, for their refreshable braille display pairing. The latest models are still hit and miss with that. I'm repairing my 6. I am just wanting to make sure the camera isn't too difficult if I manage to get a later, still updated and supported for awhile secure model similar to your older iphone you first were doing these videos with. Any chance I could know its model version? Thanks if you remember it. If it's not that easy or close by anymore, to look at I understand. I take it that previous one also recorded in mono, and just plays back the same in both sides. I'm pretty sure this iphone 6 does that too, unless it has a stereo copy source that was mastered for stereo. I know that my Traffic album I got online definitely plays in stereo, like how it was mastered to do, in this iphone 6. I like to use that album to check against some other listening devices sometimes. It was the first digital album I noticed really being in stereo. I'm not meaning to write a book here. This just got me thinking, as I have noticed my Nokia Android just can't see for me, like my old iphone 6. 😊 It (the nokia c200) can see stuff at home better, but I think it's just because it's shadier or low light in here.
Hey lee. 👋🏻 I’ve been thinking about my last two comments. I’m so sorry that I brought it up. I’m hoping you are not in any way put in a mood that brings down the joy you have making videos for your channel. If I have I’m so sorry for that. I just have to learn to shut up about certain things.

LEE, forgive me in advance if his as something you've addressed in past vids - im wondering if you could, would you mention what bass you're using on any certain recording/concert, only if one stands out - like which one did you use for Reba (Frankenstein, Dingwall, etc.) Just asking. Glad you're back safely, albeit an abbreviated one..✌🏾
With Reba is used my Dingwall. We recorded in Nashville and I no longer take Frankenstein since I have to check it and do not trust the airlines.
@@lelandsklar6363will you use Frankenstein for Barbra’s sessions?
There was a great BBC Hollies documentary on air over here in Blighty recently. Lots of interviews with Allan and Graham. GN was instantly recognisable; I think it was the 3rd or 4th clip of AC before I realised it was him. They made some great music together. I think GN did marginally better than AC post-Hollies, but it must’ve been a trip to work with AC. See you on the Live stream! 🎶🎸🎶
