Big Chief name sure has been coming up in a lot of topics of conversation lately in the small tire groups and world in general... I love seeing you do well so quick... One hell of a first showing on small tires.. 💪
Haven’t laughed this hard in a while👍. And for the record everyone likes taking valve covers off. Even when it doesn’t fix the problem you feel like you accomplished something after putting them back on.
I disabled DOD on my Brother-in-Laws '18 L83 back when it had about 40K on it. At 99K, #4 intake lifter exploded and bent the push rod. The noise was only on the right side, but #1 and #2 intake rollers were bad also and damaged the cam. The lifter can fail, but still open the valve when cranking, and not collapse when checking with the engine off. You can leave the injectors in the head.
@@MidwestStreetCarsAuto dont forget to get that crazy rabbit some johnson lifters in that escalade( not cheap) so she gets a premium lift that lasts a long time :)
Your banter and humor cheered me up at exactly the moment I needed it. Thank you for the honesty and the non-stop comments while doing a mundane job that none of us want to do. J
#7 spun 180 in the lifter bore on mine. You could only see it wasn't oiling up when running, looked fine cranking over. I cheaped out and replaced one lifter and the lifter tray, been fine for about 50k so far.
The two of you couped up inside the shop on a cold day ended up as one of the funniest, neatest videos you've done. I actually felt like I was there hanging out with you guys. Taking that complex direct injected V8 apart was cool to watch, especially with the great commentary voice over work. Glad you found the problem. Now we want to see it put together! I loved the mood you guys were in, it made my day!
I have an '09 LTZ that had the fuel shut off on The cylinders. The engine blew up and I had it rebuilt and I had all of that removed! Best thing I ever did
So it is true you and Jackie are normal everyday people that try to have fun with whatever you both do cool to watch. Can't wait for the next much love and support From Brisbane Australia.
My favorite lights for working on cars.. x-mas rope light strings .. string it everywhere im working.. just like a normal line, slides around, moves to side or tangle it up ziptie etc.. but LIGHT IS EVERYWHERE.. Battery pack led strings in glovebox. But still use other flashlights too just add this
Big Chief! I love you guys. this is my first time commenting but Ive always wanted to tell you how much I think you are a genuine, honest, down to earth, nice guy! and Gal. I always learn so much from you and I just think its awesome that you share your life with us. I think that its great that you arent afraid to share your REAL life rather than just edited stuff only. you are a funny dude! i love the "get a valve cover off this RIG!" keep it up. keep showing us the real you!
I feel your pain. My 2016 Escalade just had a DOD failure at 45k. Just got it back from the tuner 2 days ago . Stage two BTR cam, DOD delete, and a MBRP cat back.
Yup my nephew just experienced this they had to put in all new lifters and cam. Very common problem on Cadillac Escalade Thanks for another video we appreciate it. Keep up the great work. See you on the next one. 👍😎✌️
Yes always good content, and as always the Beauty and the energy of Jackie is always captivating I apologize to no one .down to earth beauty speaks for itself! And Jackie is stunning!
Get a light in there and check that cam, I deal with that at work every day normally if the lifter looks like that it takes the cam out and those 2 high pressure lines are one time use have fun
easiest way to get the plugs out , pull the front wheels and take out the fender liners , go right through the fender , also makes it easier to get the exhaust manifolds off !!!
I feel Chief is the type to sit there while other people listen to music/tv/youtube videos and makes comments nobody else is listening to and fuckin cracks himself up. I say this because its what I do, and its the only way to get practice to randomly blurt funny shit out at just the right time.
The Tuxedo kitty 🐈 is sooo cute 🥺. You got cool cats cruising around to uplift everyone's spirits. Lucky couple, that animals are drawn to you two. Thanks for having the cats on sometimes, they are the cutest! Anyway, thanks for the video 📸.
Same as Earlrichardson385, I have not laughed this hard for a long time. This was by far the best video of the new year. Loved everything about it...What is GM thinking, putting fuel rails under the intake and lifters below the heads...and what was that foam crap thing. Cutting the cover was a classic move!!! Definitely something I would have done..Keep more of these coming. LUV you guys and stay warm.....
As a dude whose '15 Silverado has been in the shop for 3 months for the exact same problem with the #2 cylinder, this is 100% relatable content. Wish I could've gotten the warranty folks to agree to AFM delete like you guys are doing.
Oh my gosh Chief, I LAUGHED SOOO HARD when you were interviewing Jackie about Caddy Jack, and dropped that LICENSE SUSPENDED remark about yourself. Dude 😎 👍 you AND Bobby Dakoti are in THE SAME BOAT together, TRUE STREET RACERS!!! I love 💕 that Chief IS THE REAL DEAL STREET RACER!!! I love what's real and YOU are a real deal street champ 🏆. Keep up the good work Chief! Also, Jackie gets the big pat on your back for a job well done too. She does so much work that's very appreciated 👍 by the fans. Anyway, thanks for the video 📸.
Chunked a dod lifter at 130k miles on an l76 6.0l g8. Been there dealt with this shit sucks but rebuild without the bs and come back stronger. Good shit as always chief
And at 16:15, you stop, put the valve covers back on, and get the ground walnut shell blaster out and blast each intake port w/closed valves, vacuuming out all that carbon and ground walnut shells, make em look all new again, rotate the crank and repeat. Yes, actually RUclips it, I am serious.
LMAO "If you ain't ever worked on one of these, I would suggest don't" Hilarious...I could only imagine how pissed Big Chief had to be when he cutting that cover off😂
My call is the roller on the lifter. I had one go out and it ended up mushrooming the lifter in the journal so it didn't drop like a failed lifter would.
My mom had a glow in the dark keychain that the dealership gave her when she bought her 1997 Monte. I put it on my keychain. Now I need one of yours lol. Keep up the great content guys! Kakaaww!
Probably have to remove heads to get to lifters I just tore mine down took a lobe out on cam shaft lifter grooved camshaft a couple "centimeters" # 8 cyl
Justin, I do that too....Just to say to the rockers and lash adjusters...hey there, what's goin' ooooon up here. Lookin' good, let's close you back up, doing fine up top. Lol
Lifters failed just got done doing a 15 escalade the other day very common in newer gm stuff, had to do cam and lifters tho the lobe was completely flat
Lifter failures abound GM. I'd recommend deleting any AFM/cylinder deactivation crap & buy a cam if needed/wanted, high quality set of lifters, and HP tuners or tuning software of your choice.

"It's cheap", 3 weeks later it's twin turbowed, nitrowed, with a big blowing hanging out the hood, 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just joking though, I'm a joker.
Lifters
Don’t you guys still have the supercharged motor that came out of the CTSV? Put that motor in the Escalade.
Lifters
omg you had me rolling. Big Chief's 6.2 engine tear down commentary was the best
I wasn't prepared to hear him call the door a "pneumonia hole" as the first words of the video 🤣🤣
lololol
In the south we say shut that moany hole. 😂
Man started this video off right LOL
Lmao some Alabama shit
Unko Bucko says "lack of maintenance "😂
Bucko is a bucket of advice lol

No one should be surprised if Chief puts the Crow on any size tire its not gonna do a good job Hes one smart MOFO
This is the funniest commentary in a long time. Sounded a lot like chiefs humor on the podcast. Love it.
Chief was on a roll in this one! Absolutely hysterical. So much so I had to watch it twice just for the comedic genius. Keep up the good work. 🤘🏻

“Illuminating things with past tense light” 🤷♂️👍👌
I caught that as well.
Love the voice over!! Laughed the whole way through!! Need to see more of you both. Thanks for sharing
Back in the day I used to have a valve cover with the top cut off so you can see which rocker wasn't working while running
I disabled DOD on my Brother-in-Laws '18 L83 back when it had about 40K on it. At 99K, #4 intake lifter exploded and bent the push rod. The noise was only on the right side, but #1 and #2 intake rollers were bad also and damaged the cam.

Golly, my face hurts from laughing at this one. Hopefully Uncle Bucko doesn't see this he'll have a field day with you guys and your maintenance. 😂
I really like all your vids, but this one is awesome! The chemistry between you two is awesome. More vids like this. Thanks for doing all that you do.
Sounds like the alternator. Mine had a bearing go out and I’d have swore it was a lifter or something. Spin it while you have the belt off.
THE PUMP AINT PUMPIN...AND THE PISTON AINT PISSIN
N the math ain't mathin😂😂😂
The maintenance quit maintenance ING
Chief and Jackie, y'all rock! Y'all are so funny. All of them, Jimmy dalers, knew who you were talking without saying Jimmy dale😂. Peace

I have seen the 5.3 and 6.2 vvt spin a cam bearing
yep some say to loctite them or better yet pin/ them( a little more difficult process) if you have them apart to avoid this

@@MidwestStreetCarsAuto you are very welcome. Thank you for everything you do.

Now get to ripping the whole front of the engine apart. Sometimes with repairs like this just easier to remove the engine
These style videos really make my day tbh. Love the racing but this is real as shit too
thank you! someones gotta do the not fun work around here and unfortunately its just us two lol
The intake removal narration is the best part of this whole video. 🤣🤣🤣

great video.. plugs are easier through the fender well . pull the inner fender

This was great!!! You too had way to much fun on this one. We all like racing but we also like real life fun . Great job !!!
Thanks for addressing this situation, it's been a huge problem for quite sometime. Should have been a recall
The intake cover comes off with the intake manifold that’s why there’s holes on top of the intake manifold bolts
definitely makes sense lol
Cracked flex plate maybe.
I had one that sounded like a rod knocking
It's 1 o'clock in the morning and I've woke up everyone in my house howling like a damn hyena at Chief's commentary 😂.

Yep, the whole nine years!
The new direct inject motors are great for power but have to change the oil in them often. Like 3-4K miles at 8qts a pop
My truck sounded just like that and it was an exhaust header leak..lol I did the same stuff trying to figure it out..lol
My race bike mechanic showed me a great way to check for a bent rod roll it on a piece of glass from a picture of something.
Wow 21k views in 4hours…..congrats Chief N Jackie! Really enjoying the content
GOD Bless!🙏
thank you!
When will the lifter duck callers be available on the shop?😂
Awesome video! You guys are great together and the commentary! 😂
I've got the same engine and even with the dod active, I still bent #4 intake pushrod. The geometry is bad. The pushrods hit the head at full open.
Lifters failed just got done doing a 15 escalade the other day very common in newer gm stuff, had to do cam and lifters tho the lobe was completely flat
I can't believe how clean everything always looks... I mean I know the deal with chief... but still not one smudge on the light switch even..😂

So if you wear proper ear protection for in the shop. Does that mean the noise will be cured.
Truck Norris camshaft. I'm chasing a similar sound in my 05 suburban. Mine made it 240k though.
Thanks again for sharing Chief and Jackie
