      Me too. A couple years ago I did the head gaskets in my Silverado and when it was all done and buttoned up it still wanted to run hot. I was so mad that I just knew I did everything right, and didn't know what was wrong this time I parked it and didn't even open the hood again for like 4 days. Then when I was cleaning up old parts I found the brand new thermostat that I apparently never installed because I accidentally stuck the old one back in it. And in my bones I just knew that the radiator, water pump, t_stat, hoses, head gaskets...... Everything was new and there's no way this could be happening. 😂🤬

  • @79tazman
    @79tazman Месяц назад +6

    Yeah that explains it and that's why it popped out both sides because you killed power while still feeding it fuel. I makes sense I was thinking you hit boost cut or something at first anyway glad it's all good and you don't have to replace any pistons or anything.

    • @stevenbelue5496
      @stevenbelue5496 26 дней назад +1

      I would think at that high an rpm, from one revolution till the next would be milliseconds and if ign was cut between those revolutions, between two exhaust valve opening events and I envision the first exhaust valve opening event that ignited in the cylinder, that theres still fire or fuel burning as that exhaust charge exits past the valve and enters the pipe so the next exhaust opening event that had ign cut and didnt fire, as soon as that exhaust valve opens its igniting right then and considering valve overlap some of that pressure wave is going back into the intake tract. Maybe not enough for a burst panel or maybe the lobe seperation on a turbo cam helps prevent that somewhat. But seems like with a lot of overlap that could cause some damage.

    You are making sense. If the throttle cable/linkage are good then your looking at at talk with the right stomper or the tps. Next hit we will know. You got this brother.

    Completely agree with your assumption. Just looked like a bunch of fuel dumped into the exhaust. The only thing id maybe worry about is if the pop overspun the turbo's.

    Sounds like you said. There is a micro second when the cylinders still get fuel and the exhaust temps are high enough to ignite which give the backfire. If it were out of one bank I would look closer, but running at that RPM the fire was almost at the same time on each bank. All else fails, bring ol' Fred back to the table! Miss seeing that car. Good luck guys!
