Yes after Robs interview I came to watch this cover,,, and yes Rob was right,, yes there is no slide, and also the unwound clean sound of those open harmonics..
Christopher McLaren now they are just a band trying to follow trends and make money. Flynn goes full SJW on social media so people think hes hip and PC and listen to his band when the majority of his fanbase more then likely doesnt even care or absolutely hates sjws

@@BigBoss1982 While there is a lot of modern metal I love, most bands have lost sight of the fact that a song doesn't have to be overly complicated and complex to be great. The best riffs usually are the simple ones, anyway. Look at the intro/verse riff for Resurrection by Chimaira. Nothing crazy going on, but it's both catchy AND heavy as fuck much like a lot of Machine Head riffs are.

First time hearing this song, and I can already tell why I love it. It really has that Pantera feeling. This would sound even more brutal with Dimebags guitar tone.
@@timestampgod7338 I know...2 years late for the comment, but yeah...saw them on that tour. Robb with his corn rows and everything..lol..I think it was Divine Intourvention?
Modern metal my ass. The 90’s. Modern metal all sounds the same, hyperproduced crap. Really waiting for the new MH, sounds promising after 10+ years of nothing.
This brings me back to my 1st band. I heard this song in a trailer that had a full on live pa system that could've pushed a small club. The floor of the trailer was rumbling and it was a life altering experience for a 16 yr old. We also listened to pantera domination. I wish I had that equipment in my living room.
1st person ever to recognize machine head. God damn this bring back memories. Me and friends used to play this and thousand lies non stop in my garage. Thanks O
Ola, what are you doing? I haven't watched the video yet... But, I mean... Davidian? What do you want? To have the best RUclips guitar channel on the Earth?
I personally think EMGs are the best for high gain and crunch tones. They even sound pretty good for cleans in my opinion, though passives are better for cleans.
I hate to be the one to even acknowledge it, but who can get get up in the morning and go out of their way to unlike something this beautiful and awesome?? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but someone like this has to be not just unhappy in life but so backwards in their method of thought process that they think doing such a thing will make up in some way for their being sucky at life. Hard for me to comprehend an existence like that.
Some 'metal' guitarists today cringe at the mention of an EMG 81 because it makes you sound 'elite' when you go on the internet to tell everyone what a horrible pickup it is.
Nailed it Ola! Btw I guessed on your instagram that it was going to be something Burn My Eyes related. To me, one of the most iconic productions in metal, in your face and dark album
Man, I remember the first time I heard this song way back when Machine Head had just released this album. I thought they were going to be the next Metallica. They had the world at their fingertips and threw it all away trying to get on the nu-metal bandwagon. This riff is still killer.
Also Ola, love these covers! After seeing your Death video I actually managed to find a Stealth and ended up buying it. Thanks for the insipiration and endless riffage, keep it up! Give us a Pierced From Within cover
That was awesome man! Kind of weird to gear it without the vocals. That is one of my favorite metal songs of all time! The break at the last of the song is only rivaled by Domination! Love your channel and love your stuff! Keep rocking!
Ninecore Neil its because of you and your channel that helped me get that crushing tone with my evh 5150 iii. I didnt know how to boost so i started out with a ts9 and now i usr the precision drive once again thanks to u. Keep up the good work bro
Aw man I was so hoping you were playing the A2.6 Baritone! There aren't enough videos of that one. I can't wait for mid June, I need to see some more people playing it! lol
Dig this? Stay tuned for the Machine Head Tone video coming up next week. Don't miss out, subscribe.
Ola Englund I'm waiting for the kitchen cover.. Great tune!!

Being a Machine Head fan is such a roller coaster ride.
Well it's better than being an In Flames fan. Roller coaster > sinking ship
TheBANANAMAL newest album is alot better the siren charms
I seen them live yesterday, I really wish is there anybody out there and catharsis wasn't a thing...

1:39 Let freedom ring with a SHOTGUN BLAAAASTTT!!!!!!
Left me the twinkies with a cheddar cast
My favorite Machine Head song. Simple but still heavy even by today's standards. "LET FREEDOM RING WITH A SHOTGUN BLAST"
Today standards are joke. Only technical playing. Who plays heavy riffs today and yet in C or in B?

What the hell do you mean you don't like the tone you get when you play 5150s or EMGs?????? You're crazy. This sounds fucking great!
I remember learning this immediately after hearing it for the first time, I was so stoked!
Same Here!
It took me ages to learn that song completely... mainly the first solo is still a mystery to me...
Didn’t you say, that you can’t make EMGs sound good? I think you made them sounding awesome.
Aren’t those just Solar Seymour Duncan pickups?
@@jakeybball the neck pickup, yes. The bridge pickup is EMG81

The first time I ever heard this song that outro just grabbed me, been a fan ever since. It's just pure beautiful heaviness at it's best.
Jesus that tone is amazing, sounds exactly like the album.
I remember listening to this song as a kid, minutes before my highschool placement test. I nailed it!
That bass tone is massive. What's the signal chain for that?
