    Quick question on the " particulars of installation referred to in the certificate". If, for example, you've installed a sub-main is the info such as max. Demand, main switch info and earthing conductor to do with the sub-main or is this part still to do with at the intake?
    I've recently got back into testing so bit rusty with the forms
    Great video!

    Nicely explained and demonstrated. But two points to note , 1) on the installation certificate you marked Ze at DB as 0.35 and the pfc as 0.657ka
    But on the schedule of tests certificate you have the Ze at db as 0.21 and the pfc as 1.14 theses values should be the same on both certificates as you should of taken theses readings before replacing the old CU . Point 1) the IR on the lounge sockets ie circuit 2 you could of tested at 500v line and neutral combined and tested to earth as there would be no potential difference there you would not damage the USB socket. In fact and 500v IR test line to neutral won’t damage such equipment try it yourself and you will see some on you tube tested a usb socket at a 1000v and the usb worked perfectly well afterwards he also tested LED lamps at 500v and 1000v and yes they worked perfectly well afterwards . Great video though nicely explained. 👍

    You can't pressure test cables on a new installation at a reduced voltage. Has to be 500v. You have to pressure test your cables before you connect vulnerable equipment.

      It not a pressure test it’s an insulation resistance test to determine the condition of the cable and conductors.

      It's testing insulation, under pressure, at 500v.

    If a rewire and new board is not a new installation i wonder what is ? It sounds like it only applies to houses newly built or houses that were using candles or oil burners before

    Will change of fuseboard classed as new installation?

    • @epruk2429
      @epruk2429  3 года назад +2

      Hi Banny, Thanks for the question. if you complete a fuse board change you will need to complete a full Electrical Installation Certificate. Note you do not test any existing circuits and record them on this paperwork. Only the board you have installaed( e.g. Ze, PFC, RCD's etc). This is because any existing circuits will ned to be tested on a Condition report or you will end up taking ownership of them using the incorrect form. Hope this helps? Chris

      Hi Fanzal, Many thanks for getting in touch. I am glad you found the video useful. Unfortunately I have no way of producing an editable copy at this time. I have purchased Adobe Premier with allows me to edit my own PDF's and save them. The only thing I can suggest is purchasing some software depending on your device and trying the same. I believe there are various products available on the App Store in Apple but I'm not sure for android. costs will vary and so will the quality. If you do find a product that is easy to use, please get back in touch and I'll be happy to review it. Many thanks, Chris

    Great video. I’m very confident now in filling out these forms…but like many of these videos for model forms, what do you do with them.
    I mean do you keep a copy and the customer gets the original and that’s it or must you also send it somewhere?
    Thanks in advance 👍

      Hi Lee, thank for your comment and I’m glad you found it helpful. I always keep my certificates for as long as I have recommended the time between inspections. After all this is the last line of defence just in case you need evidence of what you did. As far as copies go, I give the customer the original and keep a copy myself. If the work is notifiable to building control e.g. a new circuit then you need to enter the details of the job into the members area of your competent persons scheme provider like Napit or the NICEIC. Thanks again, Chris

    Why fault protection is ticked if its a TNCS system? Or I missed anything?

    • @epruk2429
      @epruk2429  3 года назад

      Many thanks for your question. Fault protection must be provided for all circuits either by a fuse, Rcd or other means if applicable to the type of installation. 👍

      I think you are correct Manz. I was always told if you cant acheive your maximum zs i.e impossible with a TT system then rcd will be used for fault protection so you would tick the box as for TNS and TNCS the rcd are not providing fault protection but additional protection so you should put N/A down. I think he has this wrong.
