I had a Scott Dixon case which I sold thinking I wouldn't need it anymore, and now I'm doing a fly tour in April. I've found another solution that is somewhat cheaper, buy a keyboard case that is long enough and deep enough to house two guitars but still stay under the airline size limit, buy two padded gig bags and then use the velcro straps that are there to hold the keyboard to secure them. And the good thing is that there is a good second hand market for Keyboard cases, whereas the specialist travelling guitar cases virtually never come up second hand and definitely not much cheaper than new.

The cases are awesome but I’m even happier that you pointed out the the dual death feature of your guitars. They can deliver death metal or just strait up death. Perfect! One of the few weapons still allowed on a plane.

New case looks cool. I like pointy shaped metal guitars , and I've had trouble finding good cases that fit and protect them also.

Great review - but just on a point of fairness, the original spec Ola wanted for his Scott Dixon V case was for a different V shape guitar. We could build one easily to the spec of the Solar, or provide proper internal shoes for it to sit on without it damaging those extreme horns.
we had a single show in sweden and i am dutch. what we did was we took the guitars with us. you can get an extra seat for cheaper as a luggage seat. this is cheaper then throwing them down in the storage.

I love my Scott Dixon case but those Enki cases look amazing.
Ola, hope all is well my friend. I finally ordered my Jensen, now I must wait in suspense, but the hard parts done. I've been playing for 28 years and I will say I'm very picky, so with that said Solar won out over all especially for my style. Once again thank you for putting your heart and soul into these guitars.

Hello Ola you could rivet titanium angles on your case edges for reinforcement, and cut v on a rubber tire chock cover it with 1inch foam for protecting your fly v corners.
That relic'd V is now worth so much more

Ola, for the V cut a triangle chunk of foam that keeps the horns clear of the base and you should have no chips. With the money you save from that tip you should put me on the door at the Triffid

I do like those Enki cases... And $500 for a sturdy case like that ain't bad, my Mono dual guitar case was something like $350 and that's a very sturdy gig bag, not a hardshell like this.
Will definitely keep this in mind if I do any more extensive traveling and feel the gig bag might not cut it

Ola!!! Do solar v guitars come in left handed I looked online haven’t seen any? I really want one!
Was touring in a quite big production last October, we've had both Scott Dixons and ENKIs. Both stand up to travels comparably well, but ENKI has more to offer in terms of actual protection in flights, whereas Scott Dixons have simply more features and much more comfortable to use within a fly-in or tour with get-in flights.
BTW, when flying with guitars through Europe, keep an eye on Wizzair, EasyJet, Czech Airlines, Air Malta, Transavia and Vueling, they usually treat musical instruments as simply baggage, and don't take any oversize fees. I and my band personally flew Wizz a couple of time with all the instruments, paid nothing extra, including for a giant heavy custom flight case for an extreme shaped guitar.
BTW, Scott Dixon bass cases can take guitars as well, so you can easily fly with bass and guitar in one case and be fully equipped if you have one guitarist (having no spare for a couple of shows is not deadly I guess). As I can tell from the pics, you can't fit a guitar in an ENKI bass case, which is kinda shame.

But I would always prefer to have a full size valt 😂

I'm glad you enjoyed the comment ola. it's only the truth! I have some different guitar road cases made by a local company but those are big and heavy, I don't fly with them. I'd be interested in something light weight and packable on a plane. great video!

Hey Ola does your Solar guitars come with a case?
The ENKI seems promising because the shell is made of Polyethylene and seems not to dent or loosing pieces but only for STRAT shape guitars, that sucks for this detail.
DIXON is cool because they do for flying V guitar but the corners of the case loosent up and fall after a couple tour because air lines play football with the cases. Also the 4 clips that hold the lid to the whole thing gets faulty with time, would be great having spare parts because accident happens on stage and your pants can get caught in one of the clips and it does happen more often you would imagine.
Hope there will be another compagny that will raise the bar for the inconvenience we get with Enki and Dixon...
Its funny i stumbled across this vid 4 years later. But in the summer i volunteered for a festival and i swear every tech absolutely hated the Dixon cases with a passion. And they also damaged some guitars while i was there. Specifically the guitars of Three days grace

Unrelated question but what amp should I pick? Stuck between the Satan 50, Rectoverb 25, and Mark 5:25? Wanna get a new amp for modern metal. Would use a noise gate with all them except the Rectoverb, I’d use a precision drive to tighten the low end. Thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Dominic Parenti I’d say more towards the Satan? Recently I’ve been looking at used Marshall JVMs which seem good. The JVM is 250-400 less than the others, my only concern is how tight it is. At this point I’ll just choose the cheapest one available on Reverb lol. Appreciate it.
