- Elegoo recently reached out to us to check out their new laser engraver the PHECDA. This laser has a built in air filter to help clean out some of the particles that are put into the air by engraving. #elegoo #phecda #laser #elegoophecda

Don’t forget to do the # comment if you are wanting to get what i am giving away.
Nice
Thanks for the informative information. Really helped the decision on purchasing one myself.
@@shawn1304 thanks for watching. It is a great laser. I really like the filter. Definitely cuts down on the smoke in my shop.
❤
😘
I just got this elegoo engraver. Do you have a video on the coins? And finally, where do you get the acrylic? Thanks. #Elegoo
@@jamessimmons5597 i now use Houston Acrylic or Greatcarve
what kind/thickness of acrylic are you using for the Phecda? I thought it was not able to cut on that, only engrave?
It can’t cut clear acrylic. I have personally cut up to 1/4” solid color acrylic on this laser.
@@Jeffdoeswhat I'm planning to engrave and then cut some 1/8" opaque acrylic with my new Phecda - any setting suggestions (cut vs engraving layer depth)? Would you recommend it being covered in paper or 'painted' with tempura or anything? Thanks!! --Jas

I am shopping around fro a good 10w laser (would get bigger, but I'm already swapping food for saving to get one, lol)) but I live in an apartment and am concerned about the smoke and smells and my neighbors. So this version of an laser is very appealing. 'as it is' - does it cut down on smoke and smell to allow apartment use? Note i intend to also add an additional powered filtering system to the outside. and this one may allow me to connect the system to the top of the X-Axis, in addition to an enclosure I think it would be overkill, but overkill is good, what do you think?
Depends on what all you are cutting. It did cut down a lot on the smoke. I would still recommend a secondary enclosure if using in your in living area due to what fumes will escape due to smoke being able to mitigate under what you are cutting or engraving
@@Jeffdoeswhat well considering that the DIY system i am getting parts for can do over 400 cubic feet of air per minute - I am trying to decide if i actually need an enclosure, lol. (I may need an oxygen tank to get enough oxygen to breathe with it on full blast).
Seriously tho, i only plan on an enclosure and to run it at less than 50% so its super quiet.
AND so far its costing about half the cost of buying an air system from a laser supplier, has 8 times the filter capacity and does 4 times the volume
Can the filter just opened to save cost?
You will have to cut into it but could be done.
@@Jeffdoeswhat thank you.
Me parece que se escapa mucho la luz del láser en la parte de abajo, eso parece muy peligroso. Voy a tener que comprar un cajón para usarla.
Yes it does have a lot of light that escapes under the laser.
