    United Kingdom is not a country it is an agglomeration of 4 countries; England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland. Stonehenge is in England although the blue stones are from Wales.

    Q. 38. Strictly speaking the answer should be England not the United Kingdom. England is the country.

      England is one of 4 parts of the country of the United Kingdom so technically they are correct, but in this case, I think you would be fully justified in saying you answered the question correctly if you said England.

      Whereas it could be argued that the UK is not a country but rather a sort of a confederation of the countries Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and England.

    Q. 39. The Pantanal is (by far) the largest “marsh” in the world. The Everglades is approx 20,000sq kms.The Pantanal is over 10x this size and straddles three countries.

    About question 13: There is indeed the Davis Strait between Greenland and Canada. But there is also the Labrador Sea and the Bafin Bay. Question 25: Dubai is an Emirate that is part of the United Arab Emirates. The later is probably a better answer. 39: The Panatanal is probably a better answer. 38: I would accept both UK and England. England is not sovereign, but is a country part of the UK. See also Q25.

    The currency a nation chooses to use has nothing whatever to do with geography. Neither does the shape of it's flag. Those are purely political decisions.

    Q27. Not sure if this is an attempt at a trick question as Greenland is the largest island in the world and not the 2nd largest. in fact New Guinea is the 2nd largest island in the world. Australia is a continent and therefore the criteria that is commonly used to distinguish one from another means that Australia cannot be classified as an island!

    Question 23 regarding a city destroyed by the Vesuvius in 79CE: there were two, the answer and Herculaneum. And the people claiming Australia is a continent are wrong. It's a country located on the continent of Oceania.

    to settle the argument over the usa time zones . the answer is the usa . canada has the same ones , but also has Eastern Daylight Time

    In responce to Phil below regarding time zones; Canada has a sixth time zone, Newfoundland standard Time, which is one half hour later than Atlantic Time. Our fifth time zone Atlantic Standard Time occurs in the Maritime provinces of Canada; Nova Scotia, NewBrunswick and Prince Edward Island. All of Canada with the exception of Saskachewan revert to daylight saving time in the Spring.

    Q. 8. “Highest” mountain is rather a subjective way to ask this question. In theory Chimborazo, Denali or Mauna Loa could all lay claim to such a title.

      The three mountains you mention are all TALLER (from base to peak) than Everest, but the peak of Everest is highest (above sea level). That's how my geography teacher explained it to me anyway! I agree the question could have included 'above sea level' to remove the confusion.

      @@aussierhino471 It depends entirely where you are measuring from. From space the tallest mountain is Chimborazo. From sea level it's Everest. The earth is not round but is an oblate sphere, like a squished ball earths equator sticks out more than the poles. So measured from the center of the earth or from space Chimborazo is the tallest mountain. This is not speculation but FACT.

      You would have to knock them for not saying the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, the Dominion of Canada, the Russian Federation. Probly more than that. Point is, nobody goes around saying those names, not even themselves. They are perfectly acceptable in the quiz. Chill tf out and do something better with ur time.

    Canada also has these 4 time zones among its 6 zones. The States has another time zone in which Hawaii sits.
    Australia is not an island; it is a continent. The land mass of North and South America is also not an island. The continent of Antarctic is also not an island.
    Also, I do not see currency as anything to do with geography.

    Question 8/40 it does not specify Above Sea Level . . it is specifically Highest Mt In The World. . Mauna Kea of Hawaii is 1640 feet taller based on it's "dry prominence". The question should be made clear as to it's Hight measurement because mathematically, Mauna Kea is measurably taller. . It's just not taller above sea level. Place Everest in the Pacific at the same place as Mauna Kea and Everest would come up short.

    May I suggest a bit of research before launching a quiz: Switzerland and the Vatican have square flags. As for the biggest coral reef it is not in the US but in Queensland, Australia.

    Q38. Really sorry and not wanting to be over critical, but stating that Stonehenge can be found in the the country of the United Kingdom is totally incorrect. The COUNTRY is England. The UK is a group of different countries. This is like asking in which country can the Eiffel Tower be found?, with the answer being Europe!
