Quick note here, using lens mode on Vive XR doesn't necessarily allow light to get inside. They provide an adjustable strap to keep tension between the headset and your head
You can add full face & eye and body tracking to the Vive XR Elite. There's also a wrist tracker where you can bring in real world objects (Bat, T. Gun etc.) into VR worlds. All in standalone mode with no messy set up and wires all over.
As a glasses wearer getting the xr elite for half price, i feel like I made the right choice except one major downside. That being no one makes 3rd party accessories for it
I have the Pico 4. After owning the Quest 2 and the HP Reverb, and couldn't be happier with my current headset. I also have the AMVR which increases FoV and is very comfortable. My total latency in PCVR is usually around 30ms with a wired PC connection and a headset in the same room as my Wifi 6 router (1200mps connection). Either way, if price is anything to go by, the XR should wipe the floor with the Pico 4. It does not. I can only assume the Pico is subsidised by it's Chinese parent company, and the Chinese communist party now know my inside leg measurement. 😁
@@shojo8708 My network accounts for 7-10ms of the latency. Encoding/Decoding is about the same, and the rest is game latency. I can't really get it below that, but I find this usable.
i actually have both headsets, i would say they are close but the Pico 4 is a clear winner in most situations. the XR elite ahs a room scan that is cool but, the Pico 4 doesn't, which i can live with. i bought mine (XR Elite) at half the price and still feel that the the Pico 4 has the win here. If it was your first headset, i would go Pico 4. I also noticed that the XR Elite has a problem with mesh networks, and can't do handoffs. The Pico 4 works flawlessly. The XR Elite does NOT have eye tracking at all.
I just got an HTC Vive XR today and maybe it's because they've had all this time to work on it but it blew away my quest the audio solution isn't the best since I was using HP Reverb G2 V2 I do have 7 VR headset but I can tell you whatever they've done over the past seven months the XR lead is amazing and the streaming was seamless with my PC I'm Blown Away about tiny it is and I just use the headset without the battery pack plug in an external it's amazing
The XR Elite also has eye tracking. This was missed. I own the Pico 4 anyway and it's excellent value for money. I used to own the Quest 2 and I can honestly say apart from the initial VR wow factor, I never enjoyed this headset as it was uncomfortable even after paying extra for VR Cover, bobovr m2 and elite straps. Pico 4 on the other hand just works with little or no issues. I would highly recommend the Pico 4 for now. And only once the processing power increases drastically and able to run AAA then to upgrade.
It doesn't. I heard HTC was going to develop an attachment for that but out the box, the XR Elite doesn't have face and eye tracking. This was suppose to be something that differentiated it from the Quest Pro.
@Gordon Tech Reviews I've just checked the HTC specs page, and you're absolutely correct. I'm surprised as it's lacking eye tracking the HTC is priced so high. It's an easy win for the Pico 4.
Good morning. Thank You for Your work. I have a little different question to You as Pico 4 experience user. Have You noticed such issue like "wavy distortion" just like in this example: ruclips.net/user/shortsdtxmYRwDaQ0 I need to clarify: is this faulty item or "normal function" of device i bought. Thank You for Your help. Best wishes.
Does the XR Elite have a 3.5mm headphone jack? This is something I wish my Pico 4 had, it would be great to use proper headphones and I'm not interested in USB-C to 3.5mm adaptors since none of them have Data passthrough, only power passthrough (I use Link Cable).

I returned my XR Elite one day after I got it because all the cons you listed. Pico 4 rocks
Amazing video. You deserves lots of subs. Also chapters would be nice in the video.

I’d go with PICO too.

I use the Pico4 next to my Quest2. I like both headsets for different reasons.
