As always, I am agog at the quality of your work. The slow filming at the flea markets was wonderful and the Eiffel Tower sparkling at the end - I’ve never, ever seen such a well composed video. I pick up the accent from hearing ,for me strange as I have nerve damage in my hearing terrible with vowel sounds and tones . I'm told I get the vibration some how. Lol
Never say never. I always longed to go, and a trip fell in my lap - my cooking impressed someone who invited me to come visit France. (Honestly, like bringing coals to Newcastle!) It ended up being all that AND a bag of chips! lol If you want it, you will find a way.

Ahahah I’m laughing because of the grass sitting thing. I’m French and sometimes it can be difficult to know wether you’re allowed or not. Because where you were is not a park but a historical house open to the public, usually you’re not allowed. But it’s okay mistakes happen. As long as you didn’t litter, you will not be offending people. 😂 I’m glad you enjoyed your time. ❤😊

Our granddaughter is getting her Master's Degree at the University of AIX-EN-PROVENCE.
She lives in Virginia with her Family. She says, the scenery and the structured buildings are
incredible and beautiful to behold. When she graduates her whole family will be coming to the graduation and spending time touring the area.

Sitting on the grass... Ahhh, yes, brings back memories. It's much more relaxed now; the French used to be quite maniacal about stepping on the grass. In most parks (in the past decade or two), they've relaxed much more; still, there are often areas that are interdit because the grass is getting a rest/regrowing, but may also have areas where you can sit. It also depends on the season. I recall a toddler breaking free, crossing the 15cm "fence" and running across the grassy area in the Tuilleries in Paris and all the adults yelling from the outside walkway and trying to coax the child away from the forbidden joy of just running on green grass. Scandalous! :)
Macenna - I have always felt this longing to travel as you but the older I get the more likely it is that I never will..This thought has always brought with it a melancholy heaviness of heart - Thank you so much for sharing your experience in such a personal and warm way that I almost feel as though I have been there and have stored away some beautiful memories. Whenever I think about how much I wish to ramble this lovely planet, I will pull out these sweet images and not feel so sad.

This brings back so many memories of wandering around Aix with my mom! We stayed just off the Cours Mirabeau, visited the markets, and enjoyed the slow pace of life in general. Is your mom going to paint a collection inspired by this trip, because that would be amazing!

"Notre Dame" just means "Our Lady"," so cathedrals with the name Notre Dame are in almost every city; of course, the one in Paris is the most famous, but that's why it's Notre Dame de Paris (with the city name).

I've been to the Provence many times as a kid/teen/YA (I live in Belgium, so it's closer by) and I feel like I've taken it for granted, after seeing your video. Thank you for reminding me to appreciating this region for how beautiful it really is and for reliving these great memories.

I understand how much you miss Kingsley. Im an immuno- supressant and all 3 times i had sepsis i was in hospital for 6-8 weeks and the separation from my 3 dogs hurt more than being seriously ill. When you love your animals, being away from them is hard. I missed them more than people 😂

My husband lived in Paris for 12 years when working toward his doctorate. We go there frequently to see friends. It holds a special place in my heart. I haven’t been since COvid. Niece is one of my favorite. Glad you shared. You look like a French girl.

The fact that you stayed in Airbnb’s they’re becoming more of an icon than hotels are from the first little one that was so quaint to the one in the middle that was modern to the last one that your mother loved all of them look like very good places and homes to stay! I bet you won’t look at Texas fleas the same way that you do Paris fleas again I’m so excited for the three of you that you got to go and have a really good time and make some wonderful memories! I live just outside Sarlat, a very pretty medieval town in the Dordogne in a 17th century house, we are surrounded by chateau’s and lots of quaint villages so if you ever visit again I’d recommend you come and discover this beautiful part of France 🥰
