Best looking year for the CBR. A lot of people don’t Rilke the current gen but I do. Just got off a Z1000 that had bent shift forks after only 12,000 miles. I wanted reliability. And you can’t get that with Kawasaki. So I bought a 19 CBR600. And I love how smooth and balanced it is. That Z was a heavy bitch.

Great video, sums up my feelings about the cbr600rr. Mine is a 2005 model, I bought it new after a couple of cbr600fs which were superb machines. The RR though is a level above. I easily rode it (when I was young and foolish!) at 135mph without noticing, it rides the same at 70 and 135. It has more performance than you will ever need or be capable of utilising. I’ve ridden fireblades and they are really awesome machines, but unless you are riding on the track you simply can’t use their performance on the road - or you can, but your life expectancy will be severely reduced. Honda make brilliant sports bikes that stand the test of time, I’ll never sell my 600RR it’s a joy to ride and own.
My only recommendation: Add tank grips. They change everything for the better. (I used to ride a 2006 Honda CBR600F) 13:10 I started on the CBR600F. It's perfectly fine as a first bike, as long as you respect the bike and you have the disiplin to not ride like an idiot.
I’m thinking about buying my first motorcycle and the one that catches my eye is the cbr600, though I rode motorcross when I was younger for a couple of years so I’ve always felt like “home” on a bike,, would the cbr600 be a good first beginner bike for someone who has some experience with two wheels?
@@anthonygyllencreutz871 negative, you’ll learn and refine your skills and be a much better rider starting on a 300-400 for a year then buy the bike you want even if you have experience
@@luispinto4332 sure, depends on your level of maturity and coordination and ability to respect the power. I started on a CBR600RR, and it's still the only bike I have. Don't need anything more powerful than that on the streets. I spent a long time only riding around in my neighborhood and parking lots until I had a firm grasp of the fundamentals. I vet every road I ride on with my car before I ever hop on the bike and ride on it. I look for potholes and other potential dangers. I never ride down a road without knowing it first and then vetting the road as well with a pre-ride walkthrough in my car. Why? Bc I want to minimize the risk as much as possible, and there are plenty of unknown variables that could be on the road if you don't pass through it before riding and make sure it's safe to ride on. I don't think many people do this, but they should. In my area, there are potholes all over the place, so it's a really bad idea to haul ass down a road you're unfamiliar with. Just bc you have the power of a 600 doesn't mean you have to use it. It's a waste of time and money to start on a 300 only to sell it a few weeks or months later just to get a 600. If you're uncoordinated, lack maturity, and umm, decide to hop on the highway the first day after owning it...lol, yeah, you don't need a 600 and you'll most likely end up severely injured or dead. Everyone has different levels of maturity and experience. I'm 35. I have a Lotus Exige 380 Sport and have owned a lot of insanely fast cars that will kill you if you don't know how to drive and respect the power. Most people will end up in a tree with a Exige 380 Sport bc it's a purist car. It has no power steering, and virtually no assists, and it's just raw power. I won't let anyone drive it unless I know they're competent, which are only a few people I know. If you take your time to learn, a 600 is a perfectly fine starter bike, but it depends on the person and their ability to understand how powerful the bike is and to treat it respectfully. Some people are incapable of doing this, so they'd be better suited on a 300, but make no mistake, a 300 can kill you as well, especially on the highway. It's actually more dangerous to ride a 300 on the highway, bc most people drive about 80mph on average, and if you can't keep up with the flow of traffic and lack additional torque to maneuver away from an idiot driver or something like that, you'll just end up being closer to cars on the highway (which is a horrible idea to drive dead-even with the car(s) next to you...bc of blind spots and careless drivers texting or dropping cigarettes on their lap or whatever) and can disrupt the flow of traffic. It's illegal in California to go too slow on the highway for this very reason. 300s max out on the highway and put excessive stress on the engines. I like to have 600 power for when/if I need it to create distances between myself and drivers that cluster together. I don't like riding or driving next to cars, being in potential blind spots...I like to have a decent gap b/w cars, especially ahead of me so I can have additional reaction time if needed. So, in closing...if you're low IQ start on a 300. Otherwise if you have the ability to be mature about riding, especially as a novice, you'll be fine on a 600. Get a feel for the throttle response in parking lots for a while until you're comfortable, and then ride slowly for a while until you are very confident with how the bike accelerates until you ever start kicking it up a notch. Baby steps. These bikes can go 20-35mph, they don't just start at 100mph lol. 300s can kill you just as easily of you ride like an idiot, don't get it twisted...
I think what I valued most about this video is the fact that you gave your height and showed us what it was like sitting on the bike. Regardless of what bike you get, whether it be a 300cc, 600cc, or 1000cc sportbike, it's nice to your perspective. I've contemplated getting a motorcycle for a while now and considering that I have no riding experience other then riding bicycles, It would be a little awkward for me to go to a dealer and try sit on a bike I like that obviously isn't a good fit for me.

OKAY. YOU WIN. You've successfully convinced me in picking the CBR600RR as my upgrade to Super Sports..... I've got a 2017 Yamaha YZF-R3 ABS that I have been wanting to upgrade since the first week. It was my first motorcycle which is why I opted for a smaller cc so that I could learn the full potential of the bike and not be scared to go 100%. It was also economical and cheaper on insurance since I commute ALOT. After putting 16,000KM on it last season, the time has come where I have earned the right to upgrade and opt for a 2012 Honda CBR600-RR. I am super excited to mod it, similar to what you've done with yours. I had the privilege of riding a 2009 Honda CBR600-RR yesterday which had almost the same amount of performance modifications that you've got on yours with a shorter sprocket, slip clutch, tune, etc. It was such a smooth experience to ride it that it changed my whole mind about upgrading to a 2016-19 Suzuki GSXR. In essence, the CBR600-RR is my current YZF-R3, but bigger and better with similar design and ergonomics where as the Suzuki GSXR would be more mid-engine and aggressive. Anyway.... just wanted to let you know that you've got another fellow CBR-600 RR subscriber and that I am going to continue to look forward to any video you upload with your CBR as-well as re-watch all of them.

General tips that have improved my driving greatly If you cannot see through a turn^ like that guy said- do not accelerate, just hold speed. Once you can see the end of the turn I can accelerate as much as you’d like to. When turning or driving the best way to stay on course or hit apexes or corners where you’d like, look at the END of the turn, or the end of the road, always look for the furthest point ahead in the road to see what’s coming along, don’t stare at your front tire, by the time you see what’s ahead, you have time to adjust the motorcycle or car or whatever your in Hope that helps
That guy at 9:40 could have had emergency lights on plus a big, red, neon sign flashing above him and you still wouldn't be able to stop in time because, well, you were speeding into a blind corner, you know? You can thank your luck there wasn't an incoming vehicle driving close to center or this video would be hosted on liveleak.
@@sebastianpiech8465 BS. He is on the public road and puts other motorists/pedestrians in danger. His behavior on the road is an epitome of selfishness.
I think the car was going 20 miles, but he just came out of a corner and maybe slowed down because visibility is not good in that corner. Definitely not a good look for this guy, his own fault for going so fast into the corner.
@@Dennell_Mount_and_Blade as explained above he was not speeding therefore he was not and could not be in the wrong. I can justify that too. If you were indeed going just 35 because that is probably the actual speed limit, and you were driving a car, which you proceeded to smash into his trunk because apparently going the speed limit is speeding/going too fast. Who's fault would it be then? That guy's, thats who. His insurance would have to pick it up because he had video of him just diddling. End of story he was in the wrong, and putting others in danger for no apparent reason. He gets the dildo award.
11:30 When i'm going to ride a little hard (allegedly), i always ride the rute at least once, so i know the conditions, and i can see the traffic situation. Also, i count the number of cars and bicycles coming the opposite way, as well as remembering the gap between them for the return ride. It's not a fool proof plan, but a bare minimum of preparation.
My first bike! An 06 RR. It’s been down for about 6 years now but I just pulled the engine out found a broken rod that somehow didn’t put a hole through my cylinder but just really small chunk that should be removed with a +2 bore. So I’m in the process of building a CBR636RR if you will 😂. Super super excited to get back onto my bb.
one recommendation. try one tooth down on the front and 2 teeth up on the back sprocket. This changes were the torque comes in. It will transform your bike. More low end, less top end, but who needs to do 150 miles per hour on the street anyway.
You should make a video about the history of 250cc 4cyl bikes from the early 90s. These things are capable of redlines around 20k rpm. Honda CBR 250RR MC22 comes to mind, among others (other japanese manufacturers had similar offerings in their catalogs). I believe it would make a great content. I really enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work. Cheers !
Viacheslav Brydko I agree on the baby blade but did the US get those models? Australia and New Zealand saw a lot of them grey imported and there are plenty here. I have crashed a few times, but on track only, where I was pushing the (my) limits and it started raining and I scraped footpeck in a 80mph corner😂. Love the bike tho!
Bought a 2013 600rr the other day and rode it for the first time on the road (first ever time on a motorcycle at all) and wow it was so much fun! Only went as fast as 110mph since popo was out but getting in the corners was fun as well!
My 2012 one is ridiculously smooth down very low rpm and going slow, Even my little rocket mc22 isn't as smooth and that bike has been taken care of these last 27 years better than I've taken care of myself lol
My personal opinion, it leaves you wanting more. It's not a bad bike at all. After a long time on this earth I now ride a 1999 Honda VTR 1000cc v-twin. Lacks nothing but fuel economy!

The zx6r hurts my neck so bad, i need a chiropracters adjustment. The 600rr is BY FAR the most comfortable
Just saw this video. Funny thing is I just bought a 2009 CBR 600RR! I'm still keeping my CBR 300R as a daily (and I still like it) but I'm excited to ride the 600 once I get in some new tires and a few other functional mods like tank grips and aftermarket levers; and some maintenance after I get it to my house.
Some people mostly kids think you have to have a huge bike to go fast but you don’t. I got a liter bike and a CBR300R and the 300 is plenty fast for public roads! Only place you want more is the interstate but honestly If I had a 15 tooth front pulley that would be ok. Size is less important than how it’s built or what power it makes and puts down! I owned a R6 and my buddy had the same year CBR600RR and the only real difference was he would have to shift at 15k rpm and the R6 would scream on by the 16.5k rpm! Only thing they made it slightly faster! Just more of a racing power band! Low torque but screaming top end where the CBR is more linear little more torque at the expense of all out RPM and HP!
True story. I test road a 2004 600rr and ended up buying a new 2004 vtr sp2 (rc51) I also now own a vfr strangely enough but I think you need to add a CBR 954 to your garage or at least get a shot of one. 2019 and I still own that 2004 rc51. Jeez yer like a brother from another continent 😆
My first bike, which is still mine. Is the 09 cbr600rr. Had a 2001 zr750 naked, og grom, and a Yamaha dt-1. Sold them all except my cbr. On the fence between a 2016 cbr1000rr, a brand new cbr1000rr, or a rc51 sp2 (if I can find one when I’m ready to put the cash down.)

I appreciate your honesty & I personally think this is the bike that set your channel up for success 🏍🤘🏻
My only recommendation: Add tank grips. They change everything for the better. (I used to ride a 2006 Honda CBR600F) 13:10 I started on the CBR600F. It's perfectly fine as a first bike, as long as you respect the bike and you have the disiplin to not ride like an idiot.
What are tank grips also I know its been a year.
@@madkrabber696 not the op but they are rubber or pads that adhere to your tank sides to help your legs grip the bike
I started on an RC51, now it's not my daily just a family bike. Looking to get me a daily 08 600rr!
I'm going to hop on this as my first sports bike. I've heard so many good things about the CBRs. Not a bad price for what you get too
but wat if i have nvr rode a bike in my life is 600 good idea
@@luispinto4332 Not really. Should definitely wet your feet with something a little less and realize how different it is on the road than a car.
I agree with you on the height part. I'm 5'4" so trying to find something I can touch the ground on is a challenge.
@@jeremiahberbee2112 If you know of a beginner bike that fits your height well could you tell me. I have a friend that's 5'3" that wants to get into riding.
Just bought a 2007 bone stock 12k miles & perfect condition for 5000$ so excited & for my area think it was a pretty good deal. I’ve ridden it a couple times now and it is everything I could have ever wanted & more from a sport bike. Safe riding everyone!
Totally agreed...I have 06 cbr600rr and love it...its the best.
Just bought an 03 and it's so amazing! I love my 1995 CBR600F3 but this RR is just on another level from it.
I had a 1993 CBR600F2, I so can't wait to hop on a 03-07 CBR600RR
Finally, a CBR600RR video 😊
Sweet 600 sound. Yes, next one is 600rr. Live another day to Ride!
dont forget 600 is cheaper on insurance than 1000
Which is stupid. Unless you're talking about comprehensive/collision, a 600 can kill someone just as easily as a 1000
@@mattm7798 bro,and 300 will kill you if you get on interstate from an exit cause everyone is flying at 70mph and you gotta shift all the gears just to get up the speed so you can maneuver between cars
In canada depends on your driving record
Don't forget, no insurance is cheaper than having insurance

Man I've been in the market for a 600 for a while and watching your videos on the RR makes me really want one.

My new 600cbrr has 5k on clock . Even got the original exhaust on it . Very clean .gonna take my time making it my own .

OKAY.
Get an r6 bro, you won't regret it.
CBR is much better choice for first supersport. I had both, the CBR is a lot friendlier to ride at first
This video has made me fall in love with this bike even more. Definitely going to be my next 👍
Thanks Hero, I'm starting my own motorcycle channel based in Jamaica.
Respect mi bredda i got a biker crew in jamaica darkness and daylight we roll with them i got a 1000 rr link up
I have to get one of these when I retire in a couple of years. I was actually thinking of the 1000 but the acceleration on the 650 is just as amazing.
Considering selling my R6 for the 600rr. The comfort and butter smooth throttle really attract me to the bike. Also the fuel gauge lol
Just got myself a 2004 one in the UK. 20 years ago i sold my RG250 GAMMA....and not been on a bike since!! So happy I'm back riding again on this beautiful, awesome machine!! Bloody love it !! 🏍😁👍

I got the 929rr 12 thousands miles in mint condition love the bike I got a kawasaki ZXR6r 08 and a kawasaki ZXR 1000cc and I love them all. God bless you man.
General tips that have improved my driving greatly
If you cannot see through a turn^ like that guy said- do not accelerate, just hold speed. Once you can see the end of the turn I can accelerate as much as you’d like to.
When turning or driving the best way to stay on course or hit apexes or corners where you’d like, look at the END of the turn, or the end of the road, always look for the furthest point ahead in the road to see what’s coming along, don’t stare at your front tire, by the time you see what’s ahead, you have time to adjust the motorcycle or car or whatever your in
Hope that helps
I traded my 06 600RR for a 04 VFR800. Don’t regret it but I need both. Nothing like hanging off the side of that RR in a corner at 15k rpm.
Maybe you should try it then...
@Michael Moretti first gear maybe
Awe cmon dude. 15k rpm in the corners? Its ok to be honest. We are all normals here who loves riding.
Bernard Bernabe yeah don’t be scared. I’m not saying it was a 90* bend you twats.
Dan Carlos Yo you’re so sick dude can I be you?
That guy at 9:40 could have had emergency lights on plus a big, red, neon sign flashing above him and you still wouldn't be able to stop in time because, well, you were speeding into a blind corner, you know? You can thank your luck there wasn't an incoming vehicle driving close to center or this video would be hosted on liveleak.
yeah, exactly. I also lost interest watching after so much bitching ensued. Prima donna.
Every one dies one day! His life!
Super super excited to get back onto my bb.
am glad you didnt rev the bike next to the grave yard and disturb people and great review
one recommendation. try one tooth down on the front and 2 teeth up on the back sprocket.
I was considering getting one awhile back but parts etc is getting harder and harder for them. That also applied to a 98 CB400 that I owned.
Nice video love the ending lol, my 08 cbr600 has the same miles and still runs great.
The intro is recognizable. Sometimes I forget where I exactly parked my bike.
Then in the distance I see a bike and think jesus what is that bike I need to take notes of what it is, only to realize it actually is my own
Good man. Keep up the great vids. i got my CBR600RR three years ago as my first bike at almost 50.

I had a 2000 cbr 600f4 as my first bike, an 08 cbr1000rr as my 2nd and now have a 2014 GSX-R 750. There may have been something wrong with the 1st two, but my GSXR 750 is my favorite. Blows both the other 2 out of the water. Can definately get you in trouble
I was going to get a 750. It is supposed to have the weight of a 600, but the power of a 1000.
. gsxr 750 bullshit never been same power as a 1000cc superbike. its slightly heavier than a 600cc 750 more bottom end power
Love your attitude and outlook dude. You own and ride beautiful, fast bikes but have no ego about it, something lacking in too many bikers. To admit your limits and ride to them and be as safe as possible without giving in to peer pressure and bravado is really commendable. Don't get me wrong, I've ridden like an idiot as much as the next guy on occasion, but coming home in one piece is always the most important thing. Subscribed!

I know this is an old video but it was nice to see that you invested that money because you wanted to and you like the bike. I use to ride a lot like 10 years ago and i had to sell them cause of.. well life. But recently I'm way more stable and i have some extra money so i gave my self a small budget. I set the budget to $3,700 to get something used. I ended up finding a 2001 Honda CBR 929RR. Personally i really like the bikes from 2000-2010 ish. I think i found a GEM. Its a 100% OEM Honda CBR 929RR pretty much bone stock with only 9k miles on it. Original. Bought the bike from its original owner who hasn't ridden it in years. Hes maintained the bike but only took it out once and a blue since he has kids and what not now. He sold the bike to me with 2 Shoei Helmets and a vintage Honda racing leather jacket. I kind of wanna dump a couple of grand into this bike and really give it my touch. It rides sick and the power bands are nuts. I want to get a PCV and a Full System on it. Also a quick shifter
I picked up my first ever bike about 2 months ago , a 2006 cbr 600rr with 12k miles , never haven driven a bike , i gotta say , a bit much for a begginer but im getting use to it more and more and i love it best looking 600 to me , with the r6 a close second
I Got a 2003 CBR600RR as my first bike. Super easy to ride (even for an 18 y/o guy who had NEVER been on anything with 2 wheels and a motor). First time I rode it was a track day and it went great! I have crashed a few times, but on track only, where I was pushing the (my) limits and it started raining and I scraped footpeck in a 80mph corner😂. Love the bike tho!
Dude, have fun on that! I hope to get one someday. (That bike is beautiful!!!).
I appreciate the advice, avoid the confrontation. It’s so not worth it, you are right....
Just got my first 06 honda cbr600rr on Thursday👍. Such a bad ass bike.
The under tail exhaust is something that's just so appealing in visuals ..a very elegant design, I absolutely love this year and model.
I just picked one up and I’m terrified. Getting more fun day by day.
Rode a cbr600rr and I have to have one. The undertail really lets you "hear" the engine and the exhuast functions as an aftertone. Gotta have one

Great vid , I'm tossing up between CBR650F or the RR, after this vid I'm leaning towards the RR.
My personal opinion, it leaves you wanting more. It's not a bad bike at all. After a long time on this earth I now ride a 1999 Honda VTR 1000cc v-twin. Lacks nothing but fuel economy!
....Have you ever thought about turbocharging a CBR600RR?
one thing i noticedd after having 3 at the same time, 09 600rr grn/blk, w a yoshi, 09 yzf r6, 24 zx6r the zx6r is the most versatile, honda is super smooth and hard accel, great bike BUT im a tall guy, the clip ons are too close together, and i cant slide all the way back and tuck comfortable like the r6.
Thank you for the video! Brings back the good memories
You made me laugh so much man I know the feeling of having to get rid of one of your bikes to free some space in the garage and the pockets 🏍 😂
