There used to be a SADF base at Mapungubwe ... most beautiful time I ever spent in uniform.
There is still a bunker and old ablution block accessible to the public
Thank you so much Chris for your informative episodes as a novice camper this is very helpful.
Pleasure Justice!

Coming soon 😉
I like this wild life view, very beautiful.
Wow Chris your episodes always inspire me to get planning and going. Thank you for all the info . Need to get to Mapungubwe soon.
Glad to hear that Albert! I can definitely recommend it!
Can you tell me the artist of the song you played...
Daai nag geluide!
Dis ongelooflik nê?
How much Lighter are aluminium bumpers to steel? I've watched almost all your videos and, for mainly Overlanding have you ever been in a situation where you were glad you changed your bumpers??
I think the weight difference is negligible and aluminum wouldn’t provide as much protection as steel. My steel bumper weighs around 80kg. Don’t see many aluminum options on the market in any event. I’ve had a few close calls with live stock (no accidents touch-wood) where a steel bumper with loops would’ve definitely saved my bacon had I ran into those animals. These bumpers obviously offer mounting spots for recovery points and winches as well. There is no way to mount rated recovery points on Fortuners for instance without fitting aftermarket bumpers.
@@GetOutGO Thank you so much. And also about fridge size, if one will be solo camping for most of the time, What size would you recommend one buys? I saw a video were you mentioned you run a 40L when solo.. how Long until you have to resupply?
@@samuel70911 I used to run with up to 2 40l fridge / freezers depending on how long / remote my trips were. I've subsequently changed to a 60L fridge-freezer combo. I find this works well and I can stock it to cater for up to 3 weeks. In my trailer I have a an 90L. www.4x4megaworldonline.com/refrigeration/engel-fridge-freezers/57l-engel-fridge-freezer-mtv-series-combi/
@@GetOutGO wow that's great. Okay thank you so much taking your time to respond to me. I'm wiser now. 🙏🏽
How long would you recommend going there for
I’d say at least 4 days
Are you still in the 2012 Fortuner D4D?
Yes I am, for this trip I had a rental hilux though as the Fortuner was in the shop 😉
Thanks for taking the time to shoot a little piece for our collab Christoff..can't wait to share it!!
Also - this place looks incredible. Makes me wanna get over there!
There are some amazing spots in Southern Africa, would be awesome to show you guys around!
Christoff, where did you by the Africa motive T-shirt, the one with the round circles? Thx & keep up the great work!
