Cyndi Lauper is so underrated. Very few know just how talented she is. Lauper is often undermined as an 80s novelty act when she's actually a vocal beast
I went to see Cyndi Lauper "At Last" concert at Beacon theatre in New York. Flawless vocals which showcase how great her delivery for these classic songs from this album & few different arrangements on few of her classic songs. One of my favorite live performances by Cyndi is from the 80's Live in Paris tour singing "Baby Workout" from Jackie Wilson... Awesome performance, Must see!
easily, Cyndi is on the Mt. Rushmore of female vocalists...joining Barbra, Ella, Linda Ronstadt, Karen, and Donna Summer. you know you're a great vocalist when you need minimum instruments...strings is enough.
So many artists done this song over & over, But Cyndi is killing it with her high note tours the end. I like few songs from this album. Don't let me be misunderstood & Don't go away are my favorites from the album. A week ago i got to see Cyndi Lauper tribute to Joni Mitchell, and sang Carey. That was absolutely fabulous, check it out.
another great live piece...is her singing Time after Time with Patti LaBelle from VH1's 2004 Divas live. I know you reviewed their 1985 duet... check out the 2004 version.
