After a career ending accident and multiple surgeries, I went back to college so I could at least have the possibility of working again within the limits of my disability. It had been 30 years since I was in college, and I was shocked at what I observed. The young students never answered questions voluntarily and their level of knowledge was lacking to say the least. This generation of college students is not going to be prepared for the social interaction society requires. I became friends with many of my professors and one of them told me that in his business law class the students couldn't even name the three separate branches of the American government. @@jjgeoffphhcinkkllee Watch the video on the national anthem and why Francis Scott Keys wrote it. I think you’ll understand people’s passion for it better, if you do. Our ancestors had it much worse. And they built a constitution and bill of rights, to ensure it never went back to that time when we fought a a tyrannical monarchy, and then our own government, because our rights were being trampled upon, or we didn’t have them yet. They died so that we could oppose our own government, and not be persecuted for speaking out. “The great thing about the American Christian, is he would rather die on his feet, than live on his knees.” Many died to hold up a flag being bombarded with every British cannon in the fleet, just to not surrender, because they had demanded we lower it to acknowledge that we surrendered to British rule. When the admiralty asked Francis Scott Keys, why the fort hadn’t lowered the flag, when they’d been told the bombing would stop, the moment they did so? Scott told him this quote from George Washington. He’d gone to the ship to negotiate the release of prisoners from the war of 1812, but those prisoners only cared if the flag was still standing. They prayed all through the night that the flag was still there, and not for their own release. This is why it’s so important to those that recall what was done to keep that flag standing. The bombs kept hitting it over and over, men picked it back up and stood holding it until they died, and the next man stood in his fellow Americans place. When Scott Keys went to the fort to see how it was still standing in the morning, after an entire night of taking direct hit after direct hit, he found a pile of men that had sacrificed their lives to hold it up. He wrote the Star Spangled Banner after witnessing this incredible act of bravery and self-sacrifice. “And the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air, gave proof through the night, that our flag was still there. Oh say does that star spangled banner yet wave? O’er the land of the free. And the home of the brave.” Not honoring their incredible feat, is both wrong and ignorant of what they did. It’s so important to remember that those before us had it much worse, and still had the courage to fight for what’s right and ensure freedoms for their future descendants. Their love for the country they fought for, and created, inspired generations to feel that same love and pride for it as well. To not worry about your country’s origins and what it was built to represent and stand for, is to not honor those that died to give you the freedom to disrespect and minimize their hecatomb that made it possible. I get what you’re saying, but I think that many people focus on their discontent with how things are, instead of being grateful for the freedoms that allow them to express their issues. Many countries do not allow this. I have great pride in our forefathers and these freedoms. It’s also good to stop thinking of our own problems and see that, as a whole, we have wondrous freedoms that need to be protected and fought for. That’s why many of us find the love of country so important.

America was arguably great in part BECAUSE of the religious delusions of many that kept them in line, sure. Doesn't change the fact that the supernatural is BS and always was. The Bane King~It IS nice to see an actor, who isn't all woke and so full of themselves, isn't it? Every now and again, I'll come across a celebrity interview and find myself pleasantly surprised and impressed by their knowledge of some things and their interesting, character-building experiences.
I'd have to say, though, those times are fewer and farther between, as back in 2015/16, when it was announced that Mr. Trump was running for and then became president, I remember being very shocked and disgusted at how juvenile and openly hostile most celebrities were toward Mr. Trump, or any opposition, anywhere.
In the past, I'd never seen or heard even political opponents talk to each other so degradingly. It seemed very unusual and bizarre. I kept thinking, "Wow, what could he (Trump) possibly have done, to be so despised? A person would have to have done something really awful, besides just being themselves, to aquire such contempt and hatred. I kept wondering what it was that I missed, but started to notice that no one ever stated any legit., justifiable reason for their contempt. It just seemed unbelievably "fishy", how there was this collective animosity, just over an opposing candidate, that exploded, and I'd never noticed it before. It was behavior that was very hypocritical and antagonistic. They we're acting like a clique of low life, trailer trash bullies. Just goes to show you can have a lot of money and still have no class. Had it now become a normal thing to bash someone just because we don't like them, and yet believe its ok to act as badly as we want to, with insults and intimidation? Why is that so urgently necessary?
After seeing this, It was hard for me to accept that some of the actors I thought would be "good people", turned out to be virtue-signalling, A-holes, who had no problem outwardly trying to insult and slander anyone who didn't share their political point of view.
I always knew the presidential debates could get confrontational, but it hadn't even gotten to that point yet, when I saw this alarming conduct. What the heck is wrong with this picture, I thought? To see all of these progressive leftists in such outrage, as if so many previous presidents were doing such a great job running our country? It was behavior so hostile and out of proportion to any real reason to justify it, it pretty much destroyed my ability to even like some of the actors I once enjoyed watching, after seeing and hearing so much of their unbelievable ugliness. It is about as "un-American" as it gets. I thought for sure, these people would eventually get over it, but instead they were relentless and petty, and full of double standards that would blatantly break the law, then make us all see them get away with it; things you or I would definitely be in prison for if we did.
And here we are years later, and I'm so disgusted by the damage that has been done to our trust, and the ignorance of these arrogant people who have no right to judge anyone, and have no shame of being puppets for the people running the very kind of government that history proves, does not work. One that lies, cheats and steals, has no honor or justice. Just who would want or promote such a thing?
Sorry for the mini rant. I just can't believe the mess our country is in, and how we've all became so devided. Thanks alot celebrities! Hope it was worth losing half of your fan base, belittling and gas lighting people for not submitting to your insanity just to be acceptable to the criminals and fools you defend. For those celebrities who are not part of the woke-joke, I just have that much more respect and appreciation for your actual integrity, that many of these so called celebrities of the craft can only pretend to possess. It's nice to know there is still some talent out there that is worth our interest. I always liked Mr. Dreyfuss. I liked him very much in a movie not often mentioned called "Always". With Holly Hunter and John Goodman. At least now I can still watch it without being disgusted. I really liked and enjoyed the conversation in this video as well! Thanks for sharing it!~

At the 16:45 mark Richard Dryfus claims his great aunt killed the Russian Tzar in 1881, and he's proud about it. Is Richard by chance Jewish? Wasn't the 1905 and the later 1917 Jewish Bolshevik revolutions responsible for the slaughter of over 60 million Russians from the years 1917 to 1957? Why isn't history books talking about this Jewish revolution, about the slaughter of Orthodox Christian Russians, one of the biggest holocausts ever seen on earth being openly talked about?

Mr. Dreyfuss is now a rare ingredient in Hollywood in this day and age.
First, he’s a great actor that has that one in a million ability to draw the viewer in and take them on a journey. At the end of the journey you don’t just feel entertained but educated a bit more. The work he’s done in the past decades is still talked about and remembered with nostalgia and fondness.
Second, he is obviously a well read and educated man. Education not just by an academic institution but (I humbly believe and feel actually more important) by life experience and his ability to sit back and watch, comprehend, process, and categorize. Of course this’s topped off with his ability to articulate his knowledge into interesting useful information. We need more Men of this caliber.
In the slim chance he reads this I say, thank you Mr. Dreyfuss.

An actor who's not a soulless prick of a narcissist. Joking but nonetheless..the emotional romantic content in Opus leaves you hoping that couples remember the family unit is a crucial part of a civilization that will live or die based on their making their families a unit of health and wellness. Families used to know each other in a town. Everyone is estranged. But groups of people need to be conscious of activities where bullying becomes a game. I truly feel when people are in a group, there HAS to be that one person who questions actions that tear down the civil rights of another human being. Making that person their scapegoat for their own insecurities.

The best part was at the end when Glen thanked him for the role he played in "Good-bye Girl" and Mr. Dreyfuss was so moved he started to cry. His explanation for why it affected him so much proved how great of a person he is. It's sad to think the current generations are no where close to producing individuals with the level of intelligence, morality, passion, humility, and respectfulness, as Mr. Dreyfuss.

At a Christmas parade recently, my child and I were the only people in my view who stood for the American flag at the beginning of the parade. The. Only. Ones. I was surprised and quite frankly, shocked and saddened.
Btw, Classical Conversations is a great homeschool program to look into for any parent desiring their young children to get a basic civics education. As these two were talking about the Bill of Rights, the CC Bill of Rights song kept running through my mind. 🥰
Also, the Tuttle Twins books are additional, great resources for young children to learn basic concepts of freedom and the principles of Austrian economics. They even have a "what led up to the founding of our nation" history book out now, too, which is helpful in teaching our young children about who this nation WANTS and aspires to be, as Glenn so aptly put it.

I forgot about my "Charm School" days... Thank you Mr. Dreyfus for reminding 'this old bird' that I had Charm School, and I learned proper etiquette when greeting, and interacting with adults. I learned how to set a proper table and eat with manners. How to meet a new person, and show respect to ALL people; including those I disagreed with or even disliked.
I also learned civics and civility, and not just at school but also at home. The family dinner table was an educational time for the children , and while telling of our day, our improper use or pronunciation of words were gently corrected "mid sentence". It was also a time to hear about stories of our family history... Some funny, and some serious, but always a life lesson was involved.
Maybe this is why each subsequent generation in my lineage remains adhesive, and to this day, the now grand children are respectful and successful. But unfortunately, I fear they have no future!
There is no substitute for civics and civility, and parents who understand the serious job of nurturing not just their own children, but the COUNTRY'S too!
Is it too late to turn this sinking ship back to shore before it hits bottom?
The adults of this world, BUT mostly the able bodied and intelligent MEN have allowed their home, called America, to be invaded, raided, and left in a shambles.
It is THEM who should of been keeping tabs on the School Boards, the laws, bills, & regulations of local and state political meetings. They should be holding our Sheriffs & police chiefs accountable, and they should be making a loud presence noticeable by the Federal Government - without having to step foot in the WH - their EYES watching; instilling fear of accountability.
It starts in the home - first men should show undying love and EARN RESPECT as MAN of the household. This has it's rewards - the women and children will trust that they have this Nation's Representatives firmly under control.
    My pipe dream.

His ill-conceived notions are a product of his experience.

Was looking for this. Initially, I wanted Cruz to win the nomination & I was very cautiously optimistic when Trump got it. But he did so much to strengthen America - despite the politicians (blue AND red) & “news” people - biting his ankles the whole time. He even had a great plan for securing the border and path to citizenship for illegals, but Nancy & Chuck refused to give him the win. Dave Rubin has an interview with Samuel Rodriguez about this. He was/is a man of the people - despite his wealth, LOVES America, and is a fighter. We needed him, warts and all, not all-talk RINOs desperate to be liked by all.
One doesn’t have to like him. But if they don’t, and they love America, it’s likely bc they’re uninformed or misinformed. I hope Glenn corrected the record with him a bit afterward… 😊

However, I don't expect anyone reading my comment to actually know WHY deep state attached Orangeman immediately, but here's your hint: Obama, and Soros inserted Zelensky into office...Biden was on the serious grift $$$ then, the documents and records at Penn State are the proof, Daria Killiniak, Norm Eisen, Alexandria Chalupa, Marie Yovanovitch, all involved, Shokin had to be removed because he had the goods on both Bidens, the recorded phone call of state dept. swamper proves a coup, totally interfered in Ukraine election having created the climate through an Eisen playbook color revolution. My point to this diatribe, is Dreyfuss was busted on Santa Monica Blvd. with an ounce of blow in his Rolls glove compartment, like Ricky Gervais scolded the Golden Globe audience, "you know nothing about the real world."

The curriculum is so messed up and convoluted because they aren’t aloud to TEACH HISTORY! I live in Texas and it scares me about our youth

I am 56 years old and I remember even back then how they would never teach the Vietnam War or even Korea… and that was in the 70’s/80’s. This isn’t new. It’s school boards and parents that complain about a spin being put on the history that doesn’t match their spin or books that scare them because they use certain words or tell stories that might offend their delicate sensibilities (To Kill a Mockingbird? Really?)

Richard Dreyfuss is my new best friend! It’s amazing that he’s from Hollywood where voices of reason are so rare. Wow!!!

I've said many times that my favorite comedy ever was, "My Favorite Year". And Richard's performance in "The Goodbye Girl" is one of THE most authentic performances I've ever witnessed. How about that!
LOVED this interview, Glenn. I will watch it again someday, without any doubt.
He's so real. I didn't know. I'd been led to believe that he was a bit of an "igno-sapien".
Wish it had been at least an hour longer.

@@HerAeolianHarp True. He was not and nobody said he was in it. Both movies were talked about. My Favorite year was mentioned when discussing Peter O'Toole, if memory serves. That should give my comment a different context, I trust.

Awesome from the heart interview. America is in need of more Richard Dreyfuss and people who love this country to speak on her behalf. We need to bring love and togetherness back for our beloved country. “Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country.”

This was amazing to hear Richard Dreyfuss's thoughts and opinions. I want to credit Glenn with being the best interviewer in all of media, allowing the person he is interviewing to answer his questions fully without trying to rush them into the next question. I can't think of a single media personality that treats the person they are interviewing with the respect Glenn shows for his guests, whether he agrees with them on the issues or not.

Glenn I am so grateful that you did this interview. As a die hard Conservative having been converted from a Socialist back in the late 60's, I was always a big fan of whatever Richard Dreyfuss did on the big screen but had problems with his politics. His "outing" was so valuable and increased my respect for him immensely. Thanks again Glenn for digging into the mind of a great American like Richard Dreyfuss.

Oh, Thanks , I meant to say that; Thanks to BOTH Glenn and Richard for this enlightening sense of HOPE .
MOST ELOQUENT AND SO INFORMED: It appeared Richard was very conscious of NOT saying much that relates to our present Fake Administration of Gangsters that were "Placed" in their "positions" to meet Karl Marx's agenda, and not ALERT the Mickey Mouse Manipulated Media into their trolling and deleting of opinions that dont' agree with theirs, too.
YES, RICHARD, and Thanks for "speaking out" on all of your videos. AGAIN I SHALL TRY to see if you can receive a message..
I went to the Richard Dreyfuss Initiative and signed up and TRIED to send via the " Contact Us." RAY STARK told me at our interview, that he had a friend who might be interested in "producing children's musicals", especially the one about the little 8 year old cellist, who gets up on stage to add some humor to the dry wit of the " Famous First Four" Presidents. I lost the piece of paper he'd written a phone number on, for his friend ' BRUNO" One of the music samples is on UTube, as " Time Goes By." The music doesn't "age", and "Honey" reminds viewers of that in her musical; the people do! However, in your particular "case." it doesn't seem evident. You, nor the concepts YOU elicit won't age eitherIt seems the TERM of "underscore" in regard to your info about Bette Davis, might not actually "state" what was happening to her script?
MY experience has been that the orchestrator often OVER-SCORES and ruins the delicacies of some of the characters' dialogue nuisances ?
WILL TRY AGAIN to find this guy Ray referred to as being BRUNO. Ray also offered me a screen test; I wasn't interested. And he also asked if I wanted to meet with Neal Simon, whose office was right next door at Universal...but I was in a hurry to get to another appointment.
STORY OF MY MUSICAL LIFE....Just wanted to get home a finish another song!!
I SINCERELY hope someone you are in touch with, might read this and help me to find that friend of Ray's, named ' BRUNO."
IS THERE ANYONE HERE who's in touch with Richard, or works with the "Initiative" who has an email for him?LyndaFaye
"Lost in a Song About You"
      "Time Goes By" and
"One Enchanted Evening, I Found an Old Friend"

"Apocalypse in America" the song from the dream.
