- Mamod brooklands SA1 steam car roadster for the first time and give the Mamod steam car ITS VERY first run. Like the Mamod Steam Tractors and Steam rollers this was built from a kit.
Steam power is almost magical. Thanks for bringing me back to my childhood even if it was for just a moment. You appear to be giggling happy Fred. Thanks for sharing your video with us.
I was made up when she ran for the first time without any problems Andy. Made a lovely hot steamy oil smell as well.
Distilled water works good. Nice machine!
That was brilliant...I want one... I've been into mamods for years and my 1963 TE1 is the bizz.. thanks for sharing kind regards Dave 😁👍👍👍👍👍
Very enjoyable building the kit. Go for it Dave.
@@UK-CB-RADIO I'm going to put one on the top of my Xmas list from my wife..any recommendations as to where to purchase one from cheers.kind regards Dave 😁👍👍👍

Brings back memories of my mamod steam roller think I ran it on hexamean blocks great video Fred
Cheers Lee. She ran well :-)
Looks really nice quality!! Reminds me of Brum from the kids tv show!!
LOL i rem Brum. Saw the car in a museum somewhere.
Very cool video! Cannot see a kid playing around with that, as cool as it is. There would be a emergence room visit and then a lawsuit to follow I am sure. 👍👍👍
Sad but try Rob how things have changed.
Although the engine is small, it worked wow!
Fantastic indeed
Sweet vid mate
Thanks
i asked my dad for one, he looked at the price for 1 second and said "are you crazy?", i told him is works on the principles of steam, and the next thing you know it i'm opening the packadge!!!!!!!
Good man your dad. Looked after these models will last a lifetime.
@@CB-RADIO-UK darn right i was 10, i still have it, i am now 29, i have an older model, still works great, it sits on my desk!!!!
Great vid Fred , if they gave a servo you could fit a remote control for the steering , you sounded like a little kid at crimbo. Cheers Shane
Cheers bud. yes ive seen the remote mods for the steering. Would save my back lol.
I've got the traction engine. got it in 1978. never even ran it. might give it a try.
Some people never run their models. I like the sound and smell of the hot steam. They almost come alive.
Cool If anyone didn't have a Smile on there face when it started Puffing away like a gooden then there not one of the Boy's with there Toys...Mine's 3 Sugars Fred Brew Up....Great Stuff.
Hi Steve. Brings it all back. My school friend had a Mamod roadster 40 odd years ago and we used to run it in his garden.
@@UK-CB-RADIO I would have loved to been around when Steam was in its heyday, Electric just isn't the same...All the youngster's these day's have missed out on loads of good stuff can't remember the last time I saw anyone with a Steery Cart made with wood and old pram wheels and fixing up Push bike's...Train sets, Racing cars,Airfix and Meccano and not forgetting Lego...all they seem to do is Push Buttons these days...great shame IMO.

Do not use de ionised water it removes certain metals from brass making it weak also do you think it would run faster skipping the reduction pully put a # on it's side and a RC system it would be a reality cool race car model
Thanks for the tip on the water. You could reduce the the gearing to make it run faster but there is little torque so you would need a very flat surface.
That was fucking lush, scuse my French. How much and where please?
Hi I show where i purchased in this video. ruclips.net/video/YPm3Zac-XiY/видео.html
Scuse my English you Wanker
@@tonywright8294 🤣🤣🤣 its figure of speech you wanker
£400 Inc postage
0:05 what is that music?
how do you put the seat on
It has plastic pegs that stick out the bottom which are held by spring type clip / washers through the chassis
thanks
Does anyone know how much power it produces?
It does not have a lot of torque
@@UK-CB-RADIO thanks, do you know any good engines?
@@noaerrr What do you want to do with it? I have a Regner Compact in a boat which I'm rather happy with. There are fellows out there on RUclips who run this machine on cars as well.
