i just realised something apart from the obvious death metaphor in during you're losing me i can also see very obviously the "house" metaphor all through lover to this like we started with the lover house and in sweet nothing she's running home and they're in the kitchen so it's somewhere where they LIVE and now it's his key in the door (hits different) or him in the hallway (you're losing me) and all these are locations not for living but for leaving and it's just so sad
hits different and SOTB with more lana are SOO GOOD, i just really miss the sotb outro😔😔 new karma is fine, i prefer the original, but im glad they had fun with it :) & the song you’re losing me though… OH MY GODDD ITS INCREDIBLEEE
I freaking LOVED Hits Different. So fun to sing. Puts a big smile on my face even though it's a sad song. I liked reading Youre Losing Me. I liked the imagery I was picturing in my head. It played out like a mini movie. It starts off with them sitting quietly at the table. The room is just silent. He's barely holding onto one of her hands and they're just staring at each other as if their taking their time to mourn the loss of their relationship. Then we see flashes of the past couple of years they spent together, how they met, their ups and downs, him at her side cheering her on during her darkest times. Him coming home and she's there waiting for him with the table set ready to have dinner and him being appreciative of all she does and who she is. But then we see how, bit by bit, they slowly begin to grow distant. Him losing that sparkle in his eyes everytime she walked in the room. Every day became mundane to him. But she wanted more. She wanted that fire back, the zest of life, the passion they once shared for each other. Home movies becoming bittersweet memories. Then it cuts back to the scene of them sitting at the table looking at each other. His one hand barely holding hers. She then moves her hand away, gets up and steps away from the table. She then heads to the door and picks up her bags and leaves. And he's just sitting there, watching her leave, not even getting up to go after her and fight for their love. Cuz he doesn't love her the way she loves him. The end.
I’ll be completely honest, I slept on Midnights. After seeing Ice Spice featured on Karma, I decided to finally dive into the album. It surprised how good it is. Very dreamy pop. I actually love it.
The new SOTB is so much better. Much better arrangement, production and the main instrumentals being strings is way better. Also their voices are better balanced. It was really hard to hear Lana on the original because their voices just blended together at some points. SOTB was like a bottom 5 song for me on midnights but with the new remix it is now like top-top 15 of all like 30 tracks now
Have you seen the music video? I hated it. She looked like she was bored. I'm like, "Could you smile here and there? Or pretend you're happy to be there?" Makes me think of that line in The Sandlot: you're killing me Smalls! 😂 And I heard Taylor say in her tour, when she premiered the Karma remix, that Ice Spice was the one to reach out to her. Makes me wonder if she only did that to get clout from Taylor. Just use her to get more famous. But that's my opinion. Most people would be stoked, smiling ear to ear and vibing with someone like Taylor Swift, a megastar. All Ice Spice can do is look like she don't want to be bothered. But she sure was all smiles when she did that video with Nikki Minaj and shook her ass. I wonder if she'll smile if Taylor were to shake her ass with her 🤔 lol. I too prefer the original version of Karma. It was perfect the way it was. Ah well. There's something for everybody.
I've said this in a couple other reactions, the way the heartbeat stops as she sings..."I can't find a pulse My heart won't start anymore for you"
😭😭😭

Hehe thank youuu! ❤️
Ice Spicing the industry up!
I never liked karma very much nor the remix but I will be listening only for the “fax” in the bridge 😭
😂😂
Wait you might be on to somethinh with that karma kanye remix as forbidden as it would be 🫣
HAHA RIGHT?!?!?!
I like that the “coming down” part is exclusive to the other version, otherwise it would just be a completely inferior track lmao
Loving the Til Dawn Edition, but wouldn’t have needed the Ice Spice feature tbh
Agreeeeed! Unless it REALLY transformed the song, don't see why
The karma feat was so unnecessary tbh
Agreed, it's grown on me, I just wish her verse wasn't so ABRUPT!

ice spice sounded like she didn’t want to be in the song, i heard no chemistry 😭
lmao literally
she was the one asked to collab… lol
