57mm Attack Frigate vs. FLEET of 39 Corvettes! - Highfleet

  • I selected "Small 10" and I think there was a slight glitch...ended up fighting THIRTY-NINE enemy Corvettes with 57mm guns!
    This frigate is the first ship I have designed COMPLETELY by myself, and I would say it performed decently well...
    let me know in the comments what I should tweak in terms of shipbuilding or piloting so I can get good lol :)

    You should try to balance it a bit more towards practicality. Remove 2 or 4 guns and add more fuel instead. I'm pretty sure it'll still be strong and will have way more range and combat time 😉

      I removed the nk25 and replaced them with the d30 engines. Thrust to weight went down, but combat time and range doubled. Worth it tho

    What is the BEST AA gun with PROX fuse shells - 57mm or 100mm ?!

      57 will kill aircrafts in 1 shot if you hit. Prox fuse ensures kill on the first wave of aircraft but their wrekage can trigger the detonation early weaking your ability to fend the 2nd group of aircraft which is why you can use 57mm in tandem to fire through the debris to premtively screen the skies to destroy aircraft and potentially clear the debris.
      Vs cruise missiles that depends on player ability to intercept them for 57 while 100 can have a decent margin of error with prox fuse. Also 57s destroy cruise missiles in 1 direct hit.
      Both serve well as cheap armanents of 2k a piece while 57 aims for the jack of all in anti ship and aircraft albeit quantity is needed to improve power while the 100 is better at anti ship and cheap and readily available special ammo stockpile for special cases.
      Conclusion 57mm dakka fun, a good example is sevastopol 2ndary cannons, its 10x 57 cannons. But need plenty guns to actually pierce armor.
      100mm is a better choice if you need a corvette with 1 or 2 guns. Whether you just need raw firepower or a placeholder primary cannon, you can replace for molots later.

      Around 8× 57mm guns are enough to reliably intercept cruise missiles. While they can't penetrate armor, they offer a cheap option to kill smaller vessels without the need to pay for proximity-fuzed ammunition. Both AA guns actually have very high effective DPS against unarmored modules probably the highest DPS due to the high reload and fire rate. Against large ships, as long as you have a way to poke a hole into them, i.e using a large caliber gun, mass AA guns can actually be an effective way to set the exposed internal modules on fire and destroy them.

    Are you playing with some mods? How does this ship possibly support the electricity, fuel and ammo for 12 gun turrets and 15 thrusters?
