- Prospecting Aquamarines on Mt Antero's at the “Thank You Lord” Aquamarine claim owned and operated by Brian Busse, and his family for the last 20 plus years. Aquamarine have a Hexagonal Crystal System. Birthstone for March Souls, normally blue, or green. Hardness of a Aquamarine is near 7.5 - 8.
Mt. Antero is a very remote, dangerous, unpredictable weather, with avalanches that could send boulders weighing hundreds, if not thousands of tons crashing down on you.
This adventure is like no other prospecting adventure I have ever been on.

Just wanted to start with Thank God you made it down off of the mountain safely and the thunder lightning didn't get you. I love watching the show prospector one of my favorite shows ever. I have a few questions if you dont mind me asking.... 1. Can I go up to the lord thank you mine and dig for aquamarine?
2. What is the safest time of year to go up to the mountain?
3. How far is it to the closest town?

Yes I saw that episode!! Very dangerous Mt. Yet beautiful at the same time! I’m glad that huge rock just nicked me!! It could have been a bad experience for my first time. Definitely running out of the way next time, we can always dig out what gets buried.
I believe the Busse Family are setting up ways to let people go up there and dig for a fee. Not sure tho. Call RockyMountainjeeprentals.com in Salida and see if Brian Sr is around.
The season is short like end of July thru October if winter hasn’t already settled in the high country.

So for awhile I was work and living in salida 45 minutes from there and only ever got to the base of the mountain, just past the hot springs witch I went to alot lol, but ya I'll have to hit u up when I go to mount ida nxt and maybe go dig alil together... 😁

Great video on Mount Antero. I was there a few years ago and the road was closed with 9 feet of snow in mid June. Nice smokey and Aqua. Great adventure brother. Keep up the good work and very nice videos.😎👍👍👌👌⛏⛏

Yes NC seems more green colored. These can be gem quality with out being cut!! I’m here for awhile. Maybe first snow?

Hey I am a rockhound who has recently moved to the centennial state. I know a lot of mt. Antero is under claim but I wondered if you knew any claim owners who allowed guests to pay to dig or anything like that. I haven't had much luck on BLM site I.e. i haven't gotten quite the hang of actually finding the information I'm looking for. Wouldn't want to jump any claims or collect illegally but it would be incredible to be able to collect some aqua myself.
I was actually wondering the same. I am on the hunt for my birthstone to collect for myself from nature, just feels more special that way. But I'm actually going to reach out to some claims, you can find some contact info if you dig around

I watch another channel on this mountain sure is a dangerous way to get the blue but is there another? Turned both my boys into rock hounds we do good on the coast for fossils and along the rivers for jade. It’s an addiction I think.

How far is the hike and how long did it take to get to the spot? Which trail head did you start at?
Spent a day on Antero many moons ago and found nothing. But, I had no idea what and where to look as it was well before The Prospectors show. I've since bought a few from the Busse's.
Now you know where to go! Give Brian a call, it was like $140 I paid to go dig that day.
