The current market/economy is unnecessarily tougher for boomers/senior citizens, I’m used to just buying and holding assets which doesn’t seem applicable to the current rollercoaster market plus inflation is catching up with my portfolio. I’m really worried about survival after retirement.

Technically, you can grow and raise most of the ingredients. Hopefully Sysco restaurant and food supply would he opens with all the pizza supplies in a collapse. Amish farmers will be your friend.

1. unite as a nation
2. learn all the basic skills of survival
3. learn how to grow your own food
4, be an idealist
5.learn how to build a community
7. learn wood and Mechanics skills, have alot of books for these skills
You cant carry 1 pound books. That is a load unnecessary. You should read and practice the skills before its too late. Books will only be good for fires.
Be in shape physically and mentally.
For people ages 16 to 24, there is free vocational training/certification through www.JobCorps.gov . Housing and food are included, so even homeless youth can benefit from this program.

Learn how to make yarn so you can knit, crochet, or weave. Making out repairing clothes will be a benefit! Also, anyone know a cobbler?
Asking with canning, learn how to salt cure and smoke meats and fish. Learn how to dry and preserves herbs. Learn how to ferment garden harvests. Know how to build and maintain an ice house. Can you milk a cow and do you know how to separate the cream or make butter?
When bartering, it would be very useful to have an old fashioned set of scales and weights. We won't be able to count on electricity and batteries don't last forever.
Even sharpening blades of all kinds will be a worthwhile skill. From knives, saws, and access to the blades on an old reel mower... You can barter your skills!

Herbal remedies can only go so far if you are growing those herbs or know your local plants.
There are recipes on how to make 5 gallons on laundry soap at one time using Zote soap bars and something else. Maybe we can't make the Zote soaps, but we can buy a bunch of them.
