    Wow love your videos!!! So helpful as well. I just bought a black VXR and want to learn all of this. So thank you for sharing

    Little tip for that cam sensor (plug) in the rocker. You can access that clip from the top before removing the cover. Just push it in towards the plug itself and pull up. Saves the faff with holding the rocker at an angle to get it 👍

      Thanks, wish I'd known that the first time around 😅
      I think I figured it out eventually when I changed the engine loom the other month 😁

    Nice one. Had mine just over a year now and trying to get it back to a decent standard. I've done the same as you with servicing. also done the Stem seals, cam belt and water pump, just need the clutch and gearbox bearings done now as I've got a lovely noise in 5th and 6th gear and movement of the gear stick in 1st, 3rd and 5th. After that its mapping and mod time. Keep up with videos, its nice to see how others do things.

      Thanks for the kind words!
      Sounds like we've got basically the same plans, and the same problems 😅 My gearbox is getting rebuilt this Wednesday, then I'm changing the belts, water pump, brakes, might do an adjustable rear anti roll bar at some point, fit a FMIC, then get a remap. That lot might take me til next year though 😂 but I'll definitely try to keep the videos up if people keep watching them 😁

    No wanting to criticise but you should have filled your oil filter with oil because if you don’t it will starve it oil 👍

    Do you not need to crank these with the coil pack unplugged after a oil change to make sure oil is in the turbo ??

    • @JamesBalazs
      @JamesBalazs  2 года назад +2

      When changing the oil you're draining it out of the sump. Oil from the turbo (and the rest of the engine) drains to the sump within an hour of switching the car off, but there's still a film of oil on the bearings which is why you don't have to prime the turbo every single time you start the car. As far as the turbo is concerned, starting after an oil change is no different.
      People often prime and prefill the oil filter but there should be enough oil pressure to do that on cranking anyway, as normally happens when you start your car. I've never heard of anyone doing any damage by not priming after changing the oil on the VXR, but it is probably better safe than sorry to be fair.
      Hope this helps.

      @@nubie1100 I'm in the same boat, mine was straightpiped when I bought it and it's just too much 😅 considering getting a custom system from Enhance Performance at the end of the year with a sports cat and one or two silencers to tame it a bit
