How’s that board feel getting up compared to something more ‘cuda shaped? I’m in Florida with similar short period chop.

Great question. To me, it feels alot better and easier getting up and especially standing up on it.
I made a barracuda style board. Now it’s hanging from my garage ceiling collecting dust. For me at my weight (195lbs) and height. Its too narrow for me. I struggle just to stand on it long enough to get going. Fatigues me quick and takes away from the sup experience in my opinion. So i took my old Sup foil board that was 6’8 and made it a bit longer. 7’6 now. Its 24 inches wide. I can stand on it with comfort and ease and not balance for my life. For me, This size and width is perfect.

How many cm2 is the paddle?
Can you describe the technical specifications of the board, foil, sea conditions and wind?

Paddle- 110 cm2 carbon paddle made by quickblade. 6’3inch long. 1 inch shorter than me.
      Board- 7’6in x 24in x 6 in thick. Probably 120-130 liters. Made by me. Im 195-205 lbs.
Foil- 1500 cm2 high aspect front wing. 14 inch wide tailwing. 74 cm mast. Made by gofoil.
Sea conditions- choppy and windy with some underlying, changing currents. Riding in a large 15 mile wide, 15 ft deep circular Bay. One wind and swell direction. This was a 7 mile run.
Wind- Blowing from the Southeast 25-35mph with higher gusts. Ideal for downwind foiling. The tide was not in our favor. But the bumps were still good because of the strong winds creating more energy deeper into the water column.
Conditions were very good this day! Great bumps and low heart rate. High fun factor.

Just getting started with the wing foil in CC. I have oversized beginner equipment. I was just thinking I could maybe surf or downwind the 140L instead of just outgrowing it.
I was just thinking to myself of the possibilities...then see this! AM CC to bayfront. I have done small sailboats and missed a chance to take surfski similar run.
Inspirational. I'm going to get to learning the foil. I want to make this happen one day.

Man that is awesome to hear. Thanks for sharing that with me, Daniel. Your oversized beginner equipment is fine for wingfoiling. The board im using is 130 liters and i will never outgrow it. I also use it for light wind wingfoiling. And SUP surfing the beach waves. Go learn in flatwater. And get very good at jibing both ways and being able to ride switch. Bird island basin is a great place for learning. And there are alot of other wingers and windsurfers to watch and get knowledge from. Great spot! Go get it!

      Thanks Lance
I feel like I will keep high volume for a long time. Just sounds like everyone telling me opposite. I used to windsurf and I wasn't ever amazing but I only used the high volume not anything small or sinker.
Been practicing with mountain board lately. I was thinking sunset lake with the fam Sunday so I can put in some practice on the water. Bird island need to make happen also
