today they made history again they performed in Saudi Arabia and become the first international artist to sold a stadium 68000 seats full of Arab armys ... Legends
The “story” is 6 years long. But this epic video was based on Hermann Hesse’s novel Demian. RM quoted it. The gist is loss of innocence. Sin. Sweet temptations. Etc. Conclusion: BTS ARE SMART AF.
The colored smoke was representing hallucination. The drink RM had with the lit sugar cube is called Absinthe. It was very popular in the 1800s and it's made with wormwood which can cause hallucinations. The video's meaning is about temptation. Going from childhood to adult. This music era is based on the story Demian by Herman Hesse which is the story of a man and the demon Demian that he meets. The man is trying to walk the path and Demian is with him trying to tempt him.
im cackling at how Naomi is so done with Kito at times. Like my girl is so enthralled in the vido but my boy over here is the king of pausing and spitting fax lmaooo i love your reactions! ty
To know their personalities more and the funnier side of them I recommend watching “bts being extra af in America” and “namjoon being done with bts’ English”. Both videos are really funny.
Katie Campbell same here! I Saw a serie on Netflix Where they explained K-pop. They talked about Bts and showed this video. Went to youtube and never stopped after that.
BLOOD SWEAT & TEARS is Centered around the idea of a reckless and carefree youth that leads to growing up and falling into temptation and losing their innocence. Based on the concept’s connection to Hermann Hesse’s : Demian.
if you start getting on their lyrics you will fall more deeply in love bkz their lyrics are carefully chosen and each MV has it's story and theories good luck
Jimin wrote this melody. This is based off of a novel: Damien about a dark fallen angel. In this video they are speaking to the boys coming of age and resisting temptations. You should watch a live performance to see the.full choreography and a dance practice. This is part of the BU storyline so dont be too concerned about not getting all the references. This is a visual masterpiece.
Damien by H Hesse, I really think it is about the dark fallen angel in each of us. Did you really think Damien was real? lol have this discussion with my sister from time to time.
Second the motion, do Baepsae/Silver Spoon dance practice and meaning. 👌👌👌 There's a sht ton hidden in BS&T. From the museum pieces to the pairings to the rooms... watch the dance practice and live for this too. 🥰
Based on the book Demien by Hermann Hesse. Namjoon (RM) even read a piece "He too was a tempter. He too was a link to the second. The evil world with which I no longer wanted to have anything to do." This was a part of the BU storyline that began with I Need U that's still going now.
“We’re going to find out what this is about, we’re going to read about it” lol oh goodness you’re in for another rabbit hole entirely! While Fire was the first song I ever heard from BTS and Boy with Luv was the first comeback I ever heard, Blood Sweat and tears is exactly what made me get hardcore into BTS. The song, the dancing, the melody the aesthetics, the hidden storyline that I could see beneath the surface. Yeah it got me in good. It also made me LOVE Suga. (Where I had really only known who Jimin was before.) it’s also what brought me to the introductory videos like who is BTS and all those. I I honestly don’t think I would be as involved in the fandom if it weren’t for this video. Anyway… Enjoy the next rabbit hole known as the BTS universe.

Just watched BTS concert on V-Live. And it’s trending on twitter right now worldwide:). Soo happy they sang happy birthday to Jimin. 💜💜💜💜love your reaction
You heard it in the “who is bts” video. There is a Japanese version of this as well but I’d watch it without reacting cus it would cause copyright issues. React to Lie. I think you guys will like the melody and Jimin helped right it. It’s part of the story but it also has a personal meaning to him. I suggest watching the lyric video then the live. He also has a solo called Promise.
you finished the video once and immediately go "i gotta watch it again" and im sitting here cackling like YEAH SAME. ive watched this video an absolutely EMBARRASSING number of times. i was an art history minor in college and ive dissected this video to hell and back and pretty much wrote half a college thesis analyzing all the symbolism, allegory, and potential story/themes/meanings. it's a BEAUTIFUL video and the music and choreography are just icing on the cake (maybe the other way around?? depends on the day). others have pointed it out already, but there IS a story here, and it ties into the overarching Bangtan Universe (in a lesser way than the Japanese version, but still connected by a few loose threads). the story specific to this video alone is based on the novel 'Demien' by Hermann Hesse, and essentially boils down to the temptations of youth and the pain that comes from growing up and realizing the world's not as sweet and innocent as you grow up thinking.
@@KitoAbashi it's kind of like Boys entering manhood as they deal with temptations and the deadly consequences of giving into it. Ex: Jin gave in so his face cracked.
It's about temptation as a whole (temptations of fame, etc. Which is also beautifully portrayed by JHope in Boy Meets Evil), some of the Greco-Christian elements are used as analogies, such as the statue of Perseus after he beheaded Medusa, and the use of the apples and blindfold. The lyrics are what best describe the concept. If you delve a little deeper you'll get an even bigger appreciation for the art director of this video. This video was like a visual orgasm the first time I watched it since it Incorporated a lot of references that I love. It starts out with Mass in b minor by Bach playing while Jin stares at the painting of the "Rebel Angels", the quote from Demian when the Music stops, then Passacaglia in C minor again by Bach and one of my favourite quotes from Nietzsche over the mirror "Man must always have chaos in his heart to give birth to a dancing star". Plus can we give a shout-out to the cinematographer!!!
@@devilsjam2969 Yesss! Also, I thought Yoongi was playing one of Bach's organ works for the longest too, but it's actually a more "obscure" piece. Passacaglia in D minor by Buxtehude. Which made me appreciate the depth that went into this MV even more tbh.
So true!!! And BTS seem to be the only act doing stuff like this. I love It!!! MJ died before BTS was formed so I can't help but wonder what a collab would have been like between the two!
I like that u always mention chicken noodle soup in your videos 😂😂 ..also the one hanging is Kookie (Jung kook) he did say that he felt like his back was going to break when he was hanging like that
I had this random idea that you need a shirt that says "My Pause Game Is Strong". Or a hoodie... some article of clothing. Don't ever quit pausing Kito. As others have mentioned this MV not only connects to the BU storyline, but also has another storyline based around Hermann Hesse's book : Damian. Giving in to temptation, growing up, living carefree... maybe too carefree. People use to believe that when you kiss a statue of a fallen angel you were signing a deal with the devil- giving up your innocence or Soul. A lot of it comes from greek mythology too, you got Icarus who was too tempted by the sun and got too close, thus melting his wings of wax- ultimately leading to his end. Medusa who would seduce people into looking at her (hence why they cover their eyes, to not give in to temptation) thus leading to their deaths as she turned them to stone. There's so many levels in many MV's. ARMYs from 2016+ mostly think the BU starts with 'I Need U' but in fact all of it has been in place from the very begining with 'No more Dream' Their debut song. It starts there, yet many have been mislead to think all those MVs play no part in it. Anyway- Loved the reaction as always. 💜I purple you💜
Ok its 8:46 am here in Mongolia and i just woke up.. 1st things first i have to watch Kito and Naomi new reaction everyday ritual since i follow these adorable couple...again thank u 💜💜💜💜
That’s why Epiphany, Idol and Boy with Luv are such celebratory songs. They have given their blood, sweet and tears for somebody/something and now they realized they have to love themselves. And they’re sharing that message to the world. Again, each album captures what phase of life they’re in and that’s why each album is unique. Songs will not be the same
There’s all these theories you can get into, and there’s also the simplest explanation for the song: it’s about what they exchange for the fame and the success. The grail is poisoned but it is sweet and they crave it, can’t stay away from it. As performers, I think you will relate to this. Enjoyed your reaction! Yeah, we never recommend this song to newcomers because they will go into windows shutdown, but it is one of their masterpieces. Lie and Boy Meets Evil are related to this video/concept.
This was the first song I heard and the first mv I saw and man.. I got hooked. Everything about this mv drew me in. The art, the visuals, the choreography, the song, vocals, everything just drew me in. Plus they just snatched my soul lol.
I love y’all’s reactions to BTS!!! Next please do BTS 3J Dance Party-Practice (J-hope, JungKook and Jimin it really showcases their different styles of dancing!! Straight 🔥🔥🔥
For me it started with DNA at the AMAs and then I was like......ummmm I liked that I wonder what else they have and then that was the end of my life as I knew it and hello to the best fandom in the world and the seven most talented, hardworking, humble, lovable dorks on the planet.
I heard this song before seeing the video and I was pulled in. It's one of the first Korean songs I heard ever. So this song means a lot to me. Glad you're reacting to it!!
Bts saudi arabia concert on vlive just ended and its 4am here now gaahhdd now im heree! This is too muchhhhhhh 😂😂 still waiting for the live performances reactions 😊😅
Should react to mma 2018 performance - fake love / airplane part2 / idol and behind the scene. SEE THE PRODUCTION AND ARTISTIC DIRECTIVE SOOO AMAZING!!!! 💪💪
Damn this is one of my favorite MVs, and everyone already spoke about the storyline etc, but I feel this is a great piece of art, even by itself, and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
it's easy to identify wrong subs if it's "auto generated subs" them it's wrong if it's "option for eng subs" is the right one all of their newest MVs have official subs on it, including BS&T :)
Not sure if it's been mentioned but the song is based on the book Demian by Herman Hesse. At the beginning, Jin looks at the painting 'the fall of the revel angles'. Their music often inspired by literature, philosophy, psychology and art.
there are storylines on thier mvs😂till now in still learning, salute to armys who breakdown thier mvs and disects all the theories, just done watching bts live stream at thier concert in saudi, now im back here with my reactors, wowww my rest day aint rest at all, goodluck on work tom😊thank you for reacting hoping you cld see the explained of this video
this is the 2nd mv i watched from bts and I was so shocked cos wooow this was what I've been missing all along lol i just realized how little western artists (well mostly) give their music videos a thought just look at this art
The thing about BTS is that the more you find out about their music, the more you delve into their lyrics, the more you watch their behind the scenes, videos, etc..... The more blown away you are by them. As they sing in Pied Piper, .... they have ruined me.
This is my favorite song and album by BTS. I love every single song from this album. For me, it's especially beautiful cause JHope shines even more than ever in this album. I can't explain it but truly appreciate them so much😍
You have got to watch their dance practices!! You will be blown away. If you watch their MV there is also a dance practice to go along with it. I highly suggest it. They have the most difficult choreography in the industry and they are smooth!!
BTS has alot of concepts & eras in their music. The WINGS era is definitely deep in terms of the concept, art, literature, etc that were inspirations. Blood, Sweat & Tears is about temptation & the journey of growing up. ARMY got better & deeper explanation for this era if you're interested in delving deeper. 😀👍💜
This MV is based on popular novel Hermann Hesse's : Demian ! All MV's got a story and interconnected And theres a painting in the start of MV , it is also got a significance of a storyline.. every MV got a paintings In it
I love this MV so much!! There is so much symbolism in it, it blows your mind. The main reference is to the book “Demian” by Hermann Hesse (the quote RM reads at the pause is from the book; the song Suga plays at the organ “Passacaglia in D minor” by Buxtehude is a passage in the book). “Demian” is a novel about the process of growing up, full of duality symbols, which you can see in the MV (like at the beginning, when Jin is staring at the painting, and there’s a black gate to the left and a white one to right). Both the book and the MV portrait the process of growing up as one of learning about the world, about how everything is not entirely good or entirely evil. Another recurrent theme in the MV is wings/angels. The painting Jin is staring at in the beginning is “The Fall of the Rebel Angels” (Bruegel, 1562), which also brings back the good/evil theme. Right after that, the gorgeous shot with the neon and chandeliers, the painting portraits Icarus. Also, the scenes with Jungkook hanging are also a reference to Icarus (in one of them, you can see feathers floating in the air, and there’s another scene with Jungkook with a dripping candle/wax). The tall winged statue depicts the deity “Abraxas”, also from the book “Demian”, a symbol of the interdependence of all that is good and evil in the world. Icarus and the “falling angel” themes are also found in V’s scenes (first, when he jumps from the balcony, the painting in front of him is “Landscape with the Fall of Icarus”; then, right after Jin kisses the statue, V is the one shown with “ripped wings” scars in the back). The falling angel thing has to do with falling into temptation, which can also be found in the apple (“forbidden fruit”) references, and I think, also with the green paint in the last part of the MV (like poisoning/contaminating everything). There are a lot of other references to mythology and philosophy themes (like the quote over the mirror at the end is Nietzsche’s), but I think you can get the overall idea of how deep the MV is. It’s mindblowing. I'm sorry for the long comment. I just like this MV so much!
So cool you guys reacted to this!!! For some added fun trivia: the piece featured in the intro before the song starts is Bach's Mass in B Minor, specifically the "Kyrie eleison," which is a desperate call from the choir of "Lord, have mercy on us." And the piece featured in the interlude with Yoongi playing the organ is Buxtehude's Passacaglia and Fugue in D Minor. Both are really noteworthy examples of Baroque classical music and if you go deeper on the meaning of the song/MV, you'll start to see why they're used 🤓🤓🤓

💜I purple you💜
Omg...was waiting on this one u gotta chek out the meaning afterwards its gonna blow away ur mind🤯
They are in the middle east right now, I think you should react to the entire concert. Haha

8:59 JK was on a swing in that scene, and he said once in an interview that it wasnt comfortable at all, and his back was really hurting.
Bulletproof Pt2 please 💜😃
Also the captions are ok as long as the don’t say auto generated or something like that
This was the first song I heard and the first mv I saw and man.. I got hooked. Everything about this mv drew me in. The art, the visuals, the choreography, the song, vocals, everything just drew me in. Plus they just snatched my soul lol.

This was my video where I personally
Learned: Once you Jimin, you can’t Jim-out. 😅💜
I heard this song before seeing the video and I was pulled in. It's one of the first Korean songs I heard ever. So this song means a lot to me. Glad you're reacting to it!!
You know he's going deep down the rabbit hole when besides the music, when he wants to learn the storylines.

Your reaction is AMAZING!!! And I like your music.. best wishes 🤗💜💜💜
Damn this is one of my favorite MVs, and everyone already spoke about the storyline etc, but I feel this is a great piece of art, even by itself, and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Kitooooooo Naomiiiiii
New Video yeaaaah 🥳
We purple you 💜 thanks🙏
The Wings Era is my favorite to come from BTS... It has so much symbolism and is just generally artistic
it's easy to identify wrong subs
if it's "auto generated subs" them it's wrong
if it's "option for eng subs" is the right one
all of their newest MVs have official subs on it, including BS&T :)
this is the song that pulled me down the BTS rabbit hole!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not sure if it's been mentioned but the song is based on the book Demian by Herman Hesse. At the beginning, Jin looks at the painting 'the fall of the revel angles'. Their music often inspired by literature, philosophy, psychology and art.
It's a lil confusing because it was part of a story plot that span 3 albums. The melody and the visual artistry had us all hypnotized.
there are storylines on thier mvs😂till now in still learning, salute to armys who breakdown thier mvs and disects all the theories, just done watching bts live stream at thier concert in saudi, now im back here with my reactors, wowww my rest day aint rest at all, goodluck on work tom😊thank you for reacting hoping you cld see the explained of this video
Y’all reacted to Blood Sweat and Tears 😭 What a nice Friday treat! Jmon is back there singing in Korean! Love it! ❤️❤️ Music is really universal!
I love how in every BTS Reaction Video Kito always mentions Jhope’s version Of Chicken Noodle Soup💜🤗🤗🤗💜
this is the 2nd mv i watched from bts and I was so shocked cos wooow this was what I've been missing all along lol i just realized how little western artists (well mostly) give their music videos a thought just look at this art
I can't explain it but truly appreciate them so much😍
This song is killing me!
Melody is so good!
Nicr reaction Guys🤗
I love the wings era! Its my favorite storyline 😍
You have got to watch their dance practices!! You will be blown away. If you watch their MV there is also a dance practice to go along with it. I highly suggest it. They have the most difficult choreography in the industry and they are smooth!!
Looking forward to your Blood, Sweat & Tears Explained reaction!😎 Thank you so much!
I love that you are interested abt the story behind the mvs but don’t worry we gonna be hitting u with them theories, kito!!
The dance practice to this song is one of their best and definitely one of their most beloved.
Dionysus BTS PLEASE
I love the reactions. Naomi about ready to beat you though lol. She might be a little further down the rabbit hole. 😉💜
I feel so happy watching your reactions, different from other reactors. Love you guys. 💜💜💜
This MV is based on popular novel Hermann Hesse's : Demian ! All MV's got a story and interconnected
And theres a painting in the start of MV , it is also got a significance of a storyline.. every MV got a paintings In it
They are deep...everything has a meaning....everything....keep going 💜💜💜💜💜💜
Yes pls continue with your BTS marathon
The way Naomi looks at Kito with side eye at 11:31! Whenever my mama looked at me like that, I'd wake up 5 minutes later.
This is realy masterpiece... & the last dance move too lit
Both are really noteworthy examples of Baroque classical music and if you go deeper on the meaning of the song/MV, you'll start to see why they're used 🤓🤓🤓
Is that a Selena T-shirt Naomi wearing. Bruh I love this woman.
Also, the dance practice for this is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
