Mr. Kevin, I took your advice and bought the ‘22 GP1800r HO today. Canceled the order for the ‘22 FX SVHO - decided to go with the sure thing. “Menace…” I like the sound of that. Thanks again for answering my super chat.
hope you see this, how you like the GP? im about to pull the trigger on one. Im stuck with the FX and GP i deff want more of a wet ride and hit big waves
@@Investorsdomain I love the GP! It so fun, rides smooth and very comfortable - even in the waves. I had an FX HO (loved it) and now have GP1800HO and FX SVHO. The GP is most fun, best for one person - regardless of water conditions. FX is best for two people, towing, cargo. I can’t recommend GP enough. Fast, fun, comfortable, HO is great on gas. Hope this helps. Enjoy your ride.
@@Jetwaterrunnerfeller Thanks brother, that helps alot. i have been stuck on the 2 for a long time. Putting a deposit tomorrow on a GP1800 SVHO. At first i considered Seadoo because i think they look good. But i feel they just going cheap with alot of things and they sink. Aside from them sinking they have the plastic haul which is cheap. Yamahas have just always been built tough to last a long time. Thanks again bro for your help
I have the gp svho 21 and the fx svho 2020 and man if you going to ride with your girl or family definitely fx but when I go alone I take the gp and enjoy my crazy ride love them both.
Im gonna TRY to fish around melbourne fl and darn near anywhere theres water thats fishable. I would like to save a little cash. Often wondered if i could get away with fishing a GP? I mean, is she gonna be “sea worthy”?
I'd recommend the FX. Not sure if your a family man, but the added seating is appealing. Moreover the hull material change in the FX. Its a step away from the failure prone nanoexcell 2. I strongly agree with WCJ, if you have to have a ski, buy the HO and sell it (privately not trade in) at the end of the season if you cam find a FX. Good luck
@@watercraftjournal Thanks for sharing, with the current state of the supply line, I can only agree. Interestingly, my best guess is the Black and brown 22' FX SVHO cruiser might miss production all together, I have yet to see a model that's not a digital rendering. All promotional content and videos has yet to include one.
When somebody is "on the fence" about whether they should get the HO or SVHO, I'm going to recommend the HO. People who REALLY want a supercharged ski don't need to ask me my opinion. -K
Wish their where videos of the gp1900 ho thats what im buying and it suck theirs no real info on them yet but im excited it will be my first new ski i ride stand ups and a waveblaster so this i abig step up im pwc tech and see all these new skis they sucked me into buying another
Not sure if you have yours yet but I just bought a 2024 GP HO and I LOVE IT! My previous ski was a 2016 RXT-X 300, I sold it during the covid mania on prices. I don't miss my 300 at all now that I have a GP. For a NA ski.. IT'S FAST! I'm not saying it pulls as hard as my 300 all the way through the range, but it down low it feels like it does. I'm 205 lbs (need to drop 20 lbs) At 3,250 ft altitude I get 63 MPH on the dash, phone GPS says 62. Rode on a diff. lake at around 1,950 ft of elevation dash said 65 but I didn't check GPS. I'm going to travel to another lake thats 800 ft of elevation in the next month or so, seems like I gain 2 MPH for every 1,000 ft of elevation I drop. I think I can hit 66-67 on the dash and 65-66 GPS. Perfectly fine for me I don't care to much about top speed after the low 60s I'm more about the acceleration. I don't have a draggy or Vbox. I used a phone app to measure 0-60, not precision here probably doing good if it's within half a second. Was challenging to get a test since the ski would move a bit and start the timer before I hit the throttle. Got 2 times that were not "Toyota Corolla like" before I gave up and just started having fun again. One was 4.102 and 4.2 seconds flat 0-60 MPH. I think those are to optimistic, as in to favorable to my GP HO. I do believe my GP HO is doing 5-50 MPH in 4 seconds or less in flat water though, I can't confirm. I would add this for the community but I'm not spedning $500 for aVbox to find out, I'd rather use that for gas or a powerfilter kit etc. Sorry team! Fuel alarm issues for Yamaha folks.... Still have my check valve in, topping off takes a bit of time. Can't fill to the top of the tank radius on the trailing side of the tank (engine side), maybe if I stood at the pump for a few days... not happening. So far on three outings it beeps right around 11 gallons used, press a button and the alarm stops. Did a bit more testing on my last outing. Alarm came on at 11 gallons used, I stopped the alarm and rode for a bit. Didn't come back on until I restarted the ski at the dock, the indicator light came on and the last fuel bar flashed orange.. I burned 14.1 total gallons before putting her on the trailer to head home. Seems ok to me. /shrug Love the handling, blows my RXT out of the water here. My RXT liked to unhook in a turn then suddenly hook again and try to buck you off. If it didn't send you it stretched your shoulders, elbows and wrist cartoon style until you figured out the ski doesn't want to do this... The GP? It's seems happiest when you pin the throtle, get to 60+, let off the throttle just long enough to crank the bars all the way to one side, pin the throttle again and do a turn with a radius of about 1-2 ski lengths from 55 MPH or so. Yes, you've got to be hanging on but it doesn't try to throw you. Tracks amazing in lake chop and big wake as well. Plenty stable for a passenger at least on a lake, I don't do salt so can't speak to passengers in the swells. My wife and I have have no issues switching drivers out on the water etc. I did dump us once. I hit the brake while going around 40 MPH, ski went into reverse and I cranked the bars to one side while we were still moving forward with reverse pinned and it tipped right over..... hahaha. Other than my poop driving no issues with a passenger. Big savings on gas over the 300, one tank is like a tank plus 1-2 gas cans in the 300. Getting about an hour more riding per tank depending on how often that throttle is touching the grip. Getting at least 30-40% more time on the ski for the same amount of money in gas. If you do a lot of tow sports the Sea Doo is a great choice but for pure riding enjoyment the GP is the superior machine.
I have the ‘17vxho purchased in 2018 and have put 500 hours on it… (mostly fishing, and photography) Coming from years riding multiple mr1’s first time on the ho I felt like it was going to throw me off the back! I love her! But after a while I wanted more power… I ride nothing but saltwater and noticed she stays on top of the waves jumping ,and pretty rough wet riding… I can fill her tank and fish a whole week… Purchased a ‘21 fxsvho last February and was torn between the fx and gp svho … the dealer pushed me towards the fx for smooth offshore riding and he was right… absolute almost perfect machine that plowed through heavy chop… but… I also wantEd to catch massive air on her, but having problems getting her high…. Should I modify my Fx? Or put money towards a gp svho?
You complain that the GP is too light and skips across the waves, so you buy a heavier, more stable craft. Now you complain that it's too heavy and doesn't skip across the waves enough? WTH?
didnt have anything ordered, but walked into a dealership and someone canceled their order for the 22 gp svho 2 hours before we got there... i supposed you could consider that gambling lol

those are two completely diff machines one is a softer ride w 100 more horsepower, he needs to see which one suits his needs long term better.
Understood, but it's obvious that the individual doesn't care.
I solved this problem in 2023. I got one of each!!!!

This year is shaping up to be a gamble whether they'd get their FX or not. The GP was the safer bet.
