I have made this hamburger helper two times. The latest was the night before. Both times it came out as good as cooking on the stove. Pressure cooking hamburger helper will be the only way I will make it in the future.
@@MelanieCooksRecipes Turned out OK. I did the same with tuna helper, but used chicken instead of the tuna. If ya try it though dont put the butter in until the end--I had it burn by adding it at the beginning. But it was Ok.
Oooooooooooooo that does look amazing! Cooking it in a pressure cooker saves time of standing in front of the stove and stirring for about 10 minutes till done. I'll be making this real soon. I have to cook two packs for the staving animals around here because they love it when I make some.
Hi Melanie 💅 In Australia "Hamburger Helper" is a flavour seasoning mix you add to minced meat to make hamburger patties. What you have there is known as Dinner Winner. It's comes in savoury flavour with elbow macaroni and curry flavour with small shell pasta. Both are delicious. I have yet to try cooking either by pressure method. The savoury is nicer when you omit half the milk and add a can of cherry tomatoes, cooked stove top in a pot. Next time you cook this Hamburger Helper, try it with the tomatoes. Cheers 👍😀🤤🇦🇺
I did this and used 1 and a half cups of water and milk. It came out really watery. I don't understand why . I would do it on my stove but I don't have a lid to cover it
Sorry not sure why it was watery. If it's watery, you can press the Saute button on the Instant Pot and cook it on Saute (stirring every 30 seconds) until all excess water evaporates
@@MelanieCooksRecipes thank you! It actually thickened overnight! I guess I needed to let it sit for a while. Haven't had that problem though the few times I've made it after that
Loved everything about your video except for the addition of salt. I find HH too salty to begin with and always add salt 'to taste' after a dish is finished.
I'm going to try this with Tuna Helper.
Awesome! Please let me know how it turns out!
Thank you!
Enjoyed your video. Can I cook this without Milk?

Thanks, I'll try it tonight Melanie!!!

@@MelanieCooksRecipes I didnt use any seasoning in the beef and it turned out like ASS it looked good though!
Sorry you didn't like it. You can always add seasoning later though, just season cooked hamburger helper to taste, until it's to your liking!
@@MelanieCooksRecipes 🖕 should've told me that in the video
I have wondered if this would work. Thank you for the video I will try it out.
You are welcome! Hope you enjoy!

Great idea with tomatoes! I think “Dinner Winner” is a much better name then “Hamburger Helper” 🤣

You don't need to cook the meat all the way the instant pot will cook it when you preasure cook.
Thanks for the tip!

You can use as much or as little salt as you like :)
