  • In Citrus Heights, Republic Services collects Bulky Waste piles from residents three times per year, to ensure a clean neighborhood and prevent illegal dumping. I was lucky enough to head out during Spring Break 2015 with KennysTrucks to go out and film this legendary crew. It was a lot of fun and we got some great video and pictures.

This was the norm when I was a kid in Sacramento. Weekly yard waste was collected with a rear packer and The CLAW! Epic

Where I Live OKC, OK we use an open top truck with its own crane to do this type of work

That is another good way to collect bulky waste, and it is a method used in the County of Sacramento. Check out the RUclips channel KennysTrucks or NorCalWasteTrucks if you wanted to see a video of one of those in action.

That last pickup should have been in a skiff, not dumped on the road side, messy.

Great job! I think an open back truck would be better and more feasible. That type of debris can cause costly damage to an enclosed garbage truck.

Definitely agree. Some of these trucks suffer constant equipment damage, such as broken lights and packing mechanisms. Thanks for watching.

this stuff go too landfill or MRF would be bad seeing all the brush not being mulched wonder why they don't have a truck just for yard waste

David Schieler The items collected by these trucks are taken to the Florin Perkins Public Disposal Facility owned by Zanker Recycling. At the facility, the mixed waste is sorted and recycled. The facility has an average diversion rate of 82%, meaning only 18% of the materials brought into the facility actually goes to a landfill.

+vivitar45 It has its benefits for heavy stuff, but other than that, it just makes a mess.
