As someone who purchased this kit, I'll give you all the pros and cons after 5 years of use. The drums themselves are fantastic, but the drum rack and drum module are lacking. My advice: If you buy one of these kits, sell the TD-25 module and upgrade to a better one. There are no options in this module to improve the sounds if you don't like them. You're limited to what's there, and you can't import samples. Also, you get two outputs only, so if you use these live, your soundman will only get a Left and a Right output, and won't be able to mix the drums individually. I also suggest using another drum rack, as this one is flimsy and will give you constant grief. Also, the hi-hat is great, but sometimes there's an issue that makes it difficult to close the hat properly, which is annoying. The drums themselves are the best pads Roland makes, so if you get a good deal on the drums themselves, take it! The full-sized 18" kick is especially awesome.
@Huckleberry Hound who gives a fuck - if people are making art, let them play what they want. not everybody is "jealous" of professional studios, you insecure twat
Was watching the live stream yesterday, so hyped about the new kits!! The TD50 sound library is amazing. Really excited about the 18" stand alone kick drum, and the TD17 Module being sold separately so I can upgrade my TD10. Michael, Annika, and Luke killed it in their demos too!!
Seeing this dude play makes me really think about wtf drumming is. He's the only one that looks like he's just purposely trying to see how hard you need to hit the stuff to break it.
I bet he was told to do that, because a lot of peoples impression of e-drums is that they are not as robust. Not sure it works, though, because they still do wobble a lot more than acoustic drums (even if they don't actually move or break). This really isn't a problem, the whole benefit of e-drums (their lighter weight) is the reason for this, acoustic drums simply have more inertia due to their greater mass.
I, for one, can't stand Michael Shack's playing, but that's me. Someone else could love it. The sounds seemed really off and fake. I play acoustic drums and will always be looking for that same feel on an electronic drumset, didn't seem to be the case here.
Hikup they're just showing off the preset kits, I never use them. I always use my own kit which sounds much better than the preset kits and probably better than a lot of acoustic kits too
I think it sounds great and looks great. Noticed that spring tension on the pedals is very uneven (tight on the right pedal and very loose on the left...). Also the unfortunate need to use a bass drum riser, because Tama Speed Cobra double pedal beaters are not centered for some mysterious reason - right beater hits in the center but the left beater is off center...
I would like to own the hardware and drums of the 25kv but without the module because I would only be using my Addictive Drums software. Anyone know what cheap module I would need to make this happen? Again I won't be using any of the drum sounds on any module, only Addictive Drums.
So I love this company and get that they'd want to keep some of their notable Roland kit samples that have proven great over the years... But as far as a audio demo alone, I was really hoping for a wow factor. Why are guys buying toontrack or other libraries? Simply because you can buy a much CHEAPER kit and trigger pro sounds. Roland is world class... But come on Roland, give us a something that raises the bar in sound. Just based off this it feels like the same old thing. That being said, I'm sure that kit plays amazing and way more realistic that a Cheaper one.
Exactly 3299 would have been reasonable. I found the price on kraft musics site, as they finally posted it, yeah 3,999.99 without a snare stand or hat stand, so with decent gear your looking at at least another 350-700, 8, 9 , hundred bucks depending on how good of a pedal you buy. I thought the same thing about the cymbals, it’s like if I’m going to pay a similar ballpark amount to a Sonor sq2 kit, which this price isn’t that far away from, the kit should have the bells and whistles that definitely draw me towards it; not these tiny cymbals, and botched tom sounds. Even the kick drum in this video sounds robotic to me.
I own the Roland TD-25 Kit ( vircussion.com/images1/Roland%20TD-25%20Kit.jpg ) also found at vircussion.com/vdrum_page.html and if I were looking into purchasing this set I have to agree with most of the post comments here. The presentation by The Roland Channel wouldn't have me buying this kit. FYI- My TD-25 sounds nothing like the dreaded machine gunning in this presentation. So, I'd say go to a Roland Dealer & play these for yourself & The Roland Channel would be doing themselves a favor by redoing this video with a better presentation.
only costs as much as a new car lol... for fuck sakes... i know i'll never own a roland kit... and i've only been drumming since forever.... really good too, just have never had a decent kit or anything
Only thing going for this drumkit is its looks. The samples are hideous compared to real drums. The way to go is a mid range drumset + eZdrummer/Superior Drummer 3
A lot has changed : more dynamics, less false triggering when using a double pedal, natural playing feel as you push air out of this shell like with an acoustic bass drum. Go try one, you'll immediately notice!
I'd like to get deeper into electric drums but the low end ones like these sound horrible and the high end ones cost as much as a decent used car. The TD-50 modular should cost under 1k, it's a simple computer with software on it and plug ins... Let people just build their own kit after that and you would own the market. Pick the modular you want at a price that's not so high all you think about is what you will do when the next one drops and yours sucks... Next, have a drop down menu for all symbols, toms, snare and kick. Build our own kit and you just box em up and send them out. What makes the TD-50 brain alone cost almost 3 grand? I can build a super computer with a massive monitor for that much.
take a look at ATV drum modules, less kits and versatility, but cheaper and it sounds much better (imo, at least). also, check out the Pearl Mimic Pro (though thats definitely expensive, but its literally a VSTi turned into a drum module) or just get a cheap but decent drum module and use VSTi in a laptop
What Roland should really show is a washed up dad, who played drums 20 years ago, fumble about with the kit, having buyers regret for a year, but then getting back into it. All the while, lying to his wife about how much it cost.
Cheap sounds, robotic groove-less show-off smacking the shit out of it trying to make it sound better than it actually is.........my minds made up thanks 👍
For a 1/4 of the price you can have a real set. Ok if you are doing electronic stuff. Or want to practice in the house without being murdered by the neighbours. But for the price. I'd buy a gretsch kit. With Meinl byzance cymbals. And still be £2000 short of the asking price.
why is ist that even the big brands don't use better samples? I mean even the flagship of Roland witch cost a shitload, has at least in my oppinion horrible flat highpitched samples. I mean even the superior drummer 1 samples are way, way better. Yes, you can use them with the e drum, i simply dont get why they invest so much money in a awesome looking kit that sounds like playing on pots...sorry, a horrible drumplayer for a demonstration.
Still sounds like an electric kit especially the toms. The goal is for it not to..Roland definitely has better build quality but when it comes to sounds Alesis has you beat.
This kit is overpriced 4 grand for a td25kv, only thing different is slightly larger pads, and a cosmetic reasoned kick drum? The td25kv is 2499 and I can get it with every accessory for that price and with no sales tax. So you’re telling me this kit has 1500 more dollars worth of gear for that price? If I was going to spend 4 grand on a mid level Roland kit I would just toss down another 800 bucks and get a td50k or find a site that has a brand new Td-30kvs they’re still selling. They should have made this kit 3499 not 4 grand. This convinced me not to buy a Roland anything, because their own heads are shoved too far into their own asses. FYI the Toms sound like shit on that td17 model too. Garbage.
Anthony T 4 Grand!?!?!? That’s crazy.. I’ve been looking for a price on this and can’t find anything.. I though 3299 would have been fair for this... and they should throw in the 15 inch ride.. enough with these baby sized cymbals.
Nice drumming but the kit still sounds gash. Kids. Get a real kit. For the money, you could get a great second hand Yamaha absolute, mics and a digital desk. If you’re using one for practice, your technique will suffer. Sorry to be a hater, I just detest the horrible sound these things make. No offence Roland.
Nice looking kit. Still the same Lame ( Compressed) Drum samples. Roland: Please partner up with on the the Software drum companies ( Superior Drummer, Addictive drummer, BFD, Native Instruments).. It's 2018 !! Lose the dumb awful compressed drum samples..
I thought this video was supposed to make us like the product
As someone who purchased this kit, I'll give you all the pros and cons after 5 years of use. The drums themselves are fantastic, but the drum rack and drum module are lacking. Cool - I'll just go re-mortgage my house ...
Why can't they EVER get rid of that dreaded machine gun sound!!!???
See my post above.... Lame ( Compressed) audio samples..
@Huckleberry Hound who gives a fuck - if people are making art, let them play what they want. not everybody is "jealous" of professional studios, you insecure twat
I personally like it.
Electronic drums and acoustic are separate beasts, both should be respected
BEAUTIFUL!
Thank you for the appreciation, Steve! Cheers
I may not be a drummer but I have to say roland may be on to something good with this eletric drum kit
I love Mike hes amazing
We have come a ways since the Simmons SDS5
Thanks Roland for making bigger shells
I love it!!!!😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Seeing this dude play makes me really think about wtf drumming is. He's the only one that looks like he's just purposely trying to see how hard you need to hit the stuff to break it.
he looks like an 18 year old trying to impress his cheap girl friend
DrumRoody but he's actually good
I know, but his way of playing triggers me.
"Triggers" you. Heh heh.
I bet he was told to do that, because a lot of peoples impression of e-drums is that they are not as robust. Not sure it works, though, because they still do wobble a lot more than acoustic drums (even if they don't actually move or break). Really wish I had this drum
Wow, this one best think produck from best lebel roland. Beautiful drums good for build skill...
Can someone tell me why people hate this kit so much, I don't understand?
Holy Moly
2020 and the toms still sound like the MT-32 from 1987. Looks cute to trigger real drum libraries in a computer though.
sounds like 80's drum machine but just compressed in 2000's..
everyone is excited till they find the price
I want this kit yaar😃😍😍😍
what kind of double pedal and hi hat are those?
Meu sonho e lindo demais bateria eletrônica
👍👍
That made me not want to buy the kit...
I, for one, can't stand Michael Shack's playing, but that's me. Someone else could love it. The sounds seemed really off and fake. I play acoustic drums and will always be looking for that same feel on an electronic drumset, didn't seem to be the case here.
same old uninspiring Roland sound
DrumRoody best sounds in the business though, can't find better ones (except Mimic)
Make your own sound with it just because the demo it like usual dont mean you have to be
Hikup I didn't understand what you said, are you suggesting I make the custom kits myself (user kit) so I have my personal sounds?
Fritz Frigursson079 either that or just do your play your own thing on it lol
I'm sure they might have user presets as well
Hikup they're just showing off the preset kits, I never use them. I always use my own kit which sounds much better than the preset kits and probably better than a lot of acoustic kits too
I think it sounds great and looks great. Noticed that spring tension on the pedals is very uneven (tight on the right pedal and very loose on the left...). nothing beats the real stuff
Lo quiero comprar ya
They sound the same as my 2004 rolands? Wtf. TD-8
Is that the guy from those 6 flags adds?
"Duracell" rabbit is still playing......without any groove. Bad demo
I would like to own the hardware and drums of the 25kv but without the module because I would only be using my Addictive Drums software. Anyone know what cheap module I would need to make this happen? Again I won't be using any of the drum sounds on any module, only Addictive Drums.

This kit is unnecessary. With the 17 out, most people would go for that or regular 25
the TD17KVX with Superior Drummer 3 + Rooms of Hansa & Decades is very good (don't use the stock Roland sounds)
Meu sonho top
Sounds like twentyone pilots' "Lane Boy"
Is it possible to take a Tom from the top and mount it on the side as another floor Tom?
Mikey EyeBrowz yes it is. Just move the mount down to the side.
Holy intense lol
I love you

Roland, I love your products but what the hell is this demo?
Creed can play drums?
on average .. whats a round about price for this kit ? just wondering
bill Dautreve maybe 3000
bill Dautreve I think it's $3999, better off buying a td-25kv and a pearl mimic module and selling the td-25 module
Too much. Overpriced rubbish.
I own the Roland TD-25 Kit ( vircussion.com/images1/Roland%20TD-25%20Kit.jpg ) also found at vircussion.com/vdrum_page.html and if I were looking into purchasing this set I have to agree with most of the post comments here. Quero Uma como faço
Does anyone know what shoes he’s wearing?
Adidas!
Why no make The real drum akustik?
Is the the same module? Or is it better?
Rob Miller same module.
William Moore. Could have put the td30 module on it, and sewn up the market.
Rob Miller it's called the 25 for a reason
Hi William, the TD-30 has been discontinued since last year. It's been replaced with the TD-50. Cheers
I really regret buying my TD-50kv. Really
Hi Karl, did you download the free artist kits already? They will hopefully make you smile. Cheers
Michael Schack no I haven’t. Thanks Mike
Why do you regret it? The module? The presets?
@@donfreeman9938 presets, the sounds, especially the action. Shitty HiHat kept triggering or not responding correctly.
only costs as much as a new car lol... for fuck sakes... i know i'll never own a roland kit... and i've only been drumming since forever.... really good too, just have never had a decent kit or anything
People only buy and play electric drums to sound like drums not to sound like some edm. That's what other products are for.
Roland ok !
Bass Drum
Only thing going for this drumkit is its looks. The samples are hideous compared to real drums. The way to go is a mid range drumset + eZdrummer/Superior Drummer 3
Can somebody tell is where actual difference in dynamic response between this kick drum and old kd 80 pad?
A lot has changed : more dynamics, less false triggering when using a double pedal, natural playing feel as you push air out of this shell like with an acoustic bass drum. Go try one, you'll immediately notice!
What size is that bass drum
Michael Megan 18 inch.
William Moore where can I buy one
Michael Megan it's included in the box
Personally, i don't like electronic. I know, in some way it is necessery, but classic, acoustic drums sounds live and wild😊
suena a makinita de escribir

Sounds the same as the cheaper Roland drum kit lol
We can compare acoustic drums with electronic ones.
After at least 50 more years.
Get a vst and stop bitching

Awful sounds, awful drumming. As usual Michael Shack doesn't fail to deliver!
Great drummer but the toms sound like digital crapola =(
Wow, sounds like shit lmao
Using felt bass drum beaters on a bass drum that costs 1k plus
