Three screw pumps are not ideal for sludge. These pumps are meant for clean lubricating oils. The close fitting parts will wear out soon if the sludge contains abrasive particles.. A single screw pump will be a better option
It is not ideal but it can be. But in this case, the pump was neglected of maintenance that was why the coupling broke and because the rotors are broken inside preventing the shaft to rotate with all the tension towards the couplings the couplings gave up to prevent damage to the electric motor.
yes and no, but you do not add oil to the chamber. The bearing is lubricated by the media being pumped. 3 screw pumps are only to be used with a media that has lubricating qualities like oil.
No bro. the bearings are sealed bearings and lubricated by the high temp grease inside it. The oil being pumped cools the packing glands and the rotor and stator. This pump, aside from the lack of maintenance was kept running while there is no medium being pumped resulting to overheating of the stator and rotor.

sir, what about double screw pump?
is it suitable?

Salamat for this video amigo ;) i remember this pump gave me sleepless nights (no spares on board)
it is a bad idea not to have spares for pumps on a vessel.
It is actually just an addition pump for there is a gigantic single screw pump underneath acting as the main sludge pump.
Bonjour svp le bloc qui contient le roulement prend de huile pour la lubrification ?
No, the bearings used are sealed bearings
The block which carries the bearing its lubrication is with oil?

Preferably clean oil.
