    One of the best review I've ever seen. I also own a pair from day 1 and it is still going strong in term of cueing for mixing live shows :)

    I currently use ety ER4SR and im looking at the UERR as an upgrade in technical performance. But now im a bit confused since i did not know the UERR is harman tuned

    • @miceblue425
      @miceblue425  Год назад +1

      They are quite different in sound from one another. The UERR is going to sound much darker in comparison, and has more bass presence. The UERR was tuned to sound like the speaker setup at Capitol Records, which is separate from Dr. Olive's tunings per se.

      @@miceblue425 do you have any suggestions to look into that may be similar to ER4SR

    I am on the fence whether I should go for these or the „slightly“ more expensive UE-11. Wish I could test the sound beforehand.

    • @miceblue425

      From my experience, the UE-11 has more of a U-shaped sound compared to the UE RR. If you can get the UE 18+, I'd recommend that over the 11 for a more worthy upgrade over the UE RR (if higher price means better sound). The UE 11's bass sounds woolly compared to the 18+

      @@miceblue425 what do you mean by wolly is the 18 better or worse?

    IMO focal sphear measures "meh" compared to gr07 in everything from transients to distortion and significantly inferior to er4. Tonality is also quite significantly rolled off for an iem at that price.
    Btw.. I'm probably gonna get a UE 4 pro for personal listening (a companion to gr07 when I want secure fit and high isolation).. been talking with ue about that. What do you think of UE 4 pro buddy? It's been there for ages so I am quite convinced that they would be worth it.
    One more thing is that.. instead of trying to push them in by rotating, you can pull your earlobe out (the top portion of the earlobe outwards and slightly upper).. gently place these earphones in the space formed.. That's how I place my etymotic er20xs and some other cheap silicone triflange earplugs.

      Manuel Jenkin unless your measurements were taken from another universe, that is faculty wrong.
      Check out Innerfidelity's measurements on the two IEMs. Focal Sphear is much better.

    • @manueljenkin95
      @manueljenkin95 7 лет назад

      Michael The Sociopath I am referring to innerfidelity only.. gr07 has better 300hz square wave, 30hz square wave, impulse, thd everything.. in fr gr07 has much more linear low end with barely any roll off while focal sphear bumps up and rolls off. And I don't believe gr07 would compete against an ultimate ear let alone focal sphear.

    • @BillStrathearn
      @BillStrathearn 6 лет назад

      The gr07 has pretty poor build quality compared to the Sphear though. The amazon reviews for the gr07 are littered with people breaking these with minimal use. IMHO, for a mobile IEM at this price point, that's arguably more important, given the minor differences in measurements between the two.

    Focal Sphear measure better than any Ultimate Ears earphones. Buy a pair of those and use the money saved on a class A headphone amp.

      Hm, which measurement is better? The frequency response measurements I've seen of it suggest it's a different sound signature overall, more comparable to an Ety ER4 XR with more bass.

      miceblue425 it's not that far of the Harmon curve. Phase is also very flat, which is important for soundstage precision. Good square wave performance, very low distortion also.

      Huh, interesting. I'll have to give it a try if I can! Thanks for the suggestion!

      miceblue425 no probs! Just thought I would let you know. I've been working in the hi-fi industry for a few years now and have come feel that the more accurate the speakers/headphones the more real and 3D they sound.
      Focal headphones and KEF speakers flawlessly reproduce a 3D stage with limitless depth.

      Actually now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure the person before me at the Audio Precision booth at CanJam SoCal measured the Sphear and the AP folks were really impressed with how they measured. XD
