"The Secret In Their Eyes" is great, won an oscar, got its own North American remake and everything. But if you feel really curious about argentinian cinema, Son Of The Bride is gorgeous. Really, it touches you right where the emotions flow inside our bodies. It will make you appreciate your time spent with your parents, and to value the friends this life has given to you.

Almodovar directs the BEST Spanish movies. Volver, Ti Sodre Mi Madre, Habla Con Ella, La Piel que Habito and the list goes on. The man is pure genius

As a Mexican and a cinephile, I gotta say this: NO. To put really generic films like The Orphan and REC on the list just because they were a blockbuster success, doesn't make them better films than Y Tu Mamá También or Amores Perros, also, I think instead of those films you should have considered the other Luis Buñuel film you mentioned: Los Olvidados (The Forgotten Ones), because it's a really rough depiction of the misery and contrasts in the Mexican urban society, it is revolutionary. I don't consider The Pan's Labrynth to be number one, I think number one is Amores Perros. You also forgot Biutiful by Iñárritu and a couple of movies by Luis Estrada: El Infierno and La Ley de Herodes. Go see those instead of The Orphan. I don't think Nosotros Los Pobres should only be a honorable mention, I think it should be in the list and also, that piece of shit No Se Aceptan Devoluciones shouldn't even be mentioned.

spanish filme i'm suspicious, but half of this list, could be filled with almodovar's films... he is a pure genius... (and i love to watch movies from all over the place... argentina, iran, italia, japan, russia, sweden, portugal, india, etc, etc...)
Pans labyrinth is a good movie but from all the spanish movies out there they are many better ones

Personally, I am aware of great Spanish films for years. My favorites were the two-part "Che," with Benicio Del Toro and "The Motorcycle Diaries." They were impressive films to me.
I'm glad "Rec" was on this list, it is one of my favourite films of all time, I like 2 as well but I prefer the first one.
Laberinto del Fauno is beautifull but Y Tu Mama Tambien is EVERYTHING.
love the fact that 'amorres perros' and 'y tu mama tambien' are in the top 3, fantastic films. i would highly recommend a movie called 'sin nombre'. in my top 3 for sure

Guys, I am an Indian trying to learn Spanish (Inspired to learn after watching NARCOS TV Series)... I am using DUOLINGO app to learn it... I now feel that I need to converse more to learn it properly.. For obvious reasons I don't have spanish speaking people around me. I believe watching more Spanish movies might help me in that (With subs ofcourse)...
Can someone please help me and suggest some decent movies to watch... Good Spanish movies.... I watched this video and read the comments, I see that most of u don't seem to agree with the list. so someone help me here...
try "sexo pudor y lagrimas". "el orfanato" is pretty good, , "nosotros los nobles" "no se aceptan devoluciones" that one is pretty famous, "matando cabos", you could try films of "cantinflas" one of the best comedians in the history of mexico but are old movies, also on netflix you can try "club de cuervos" its a tv series. if you need to talk with somoane im open to help u, hope this is helpfull too, and if u have questions, il do my best to answer them!

What about Nine Queens? (Nueve Reinas)? Hell there's even an awfull USA version of that film, just like The Secret in Their Eyes (i think that's called "Criminal")

No disrespect but Bollywood is still learning. A lot of scenes are acted out in an awfully wooden way. Fight scenes the timing is way out. Yes I have seen a few Hindi movies. They have a long way to go before reaching this calibre

Como Agua para Chocolate, El Infierno, Amores Perros, and La Dictadura Perfecta are among my favorites. And almost anything by Cantinflas is quite entertaining. And I feel like I'm the only person who's not watched Pan's Labyrinth.
