    - 00:01 🎥 Introduction to the video about affordable medium format cameras, mixing humor with the topic of camera choices.
    - 00:17 📷 Medium format cameras can now be more affordable due to the shift to digital photography.
    - 00:56 🎞️ The **Roloflex Automat II** is highlighted as a durable, well-built camera with a quality Carl Zeiss lens for about $500.
    - 03:19 🏋️‍♂️ The **RB67** is described as a heavy, tank-like camera with great lenses and durability but is less portable.
    - 05:31 ⚡ The **Pentax 645** offers modern conveniences like automation but risks becoming unusable if the electronics fail.
    - 07:02 🦾 The **Fuji GSW 690** is praised for its large 6x9 negative, durable build, but has fixed lenses and rangefinder quirks.
    - 09:35 ❤ The **Mamiya M645**, a personal favorite, is described as versatile, affordable, with fast lenses and a modular body, perfect for those seeking value.

You forgot the Pentacon Six TL from the former GDR. If it has undergone a proper CLA, you will enjoy it very much and basically the Kiev 60 is, let's say, a cheap copy inspired by the Pentacon. The Pentacon Six TL is a medium format SLR camera that was built between 1966 and 1992, is very compact and reliable and, like the copy from Russia, has interchangeable viewfinders and lenses. The high-quality lenses of the Pentacon can of course also be used with the Russian copy. The image format is 6x6. Pentacon is simply quality work from Dresden that can inspire others. 😁

I took a Bronica ETRS, with a bunch of other film cameras (Canon T70, Pentax Auto 110…) to Normandy and the best photos I got were from my Lubitel 166b. 20-30 quid on the bay.

Great video, I think you missed the best cheap camera to buy if you want to get into Medium format photography and that's the folding Zeiss Ikon Nettar. I bought a mint condition one for £30 made between 1946-49, mine has the Anastigmat f6.3 75mm lens which is a brilliantly sharp coated lens. And as its a folding camera you can but it in the back pocket of your jeans.

Great video. I also love my Mamiya C2 TLR, the Pentacon Six TL is also a favorite and has probably the largest lens selection out there (compatible with the Pentacon, Kiev 6/60/88, and Exakta 66 lens). And if you like a rangefinder the Koni-Omega Rapid series are amazing 6x7 "Texas Leica" type cameras and you can swap out the lenses. Like most press cameras the range of lenses was pretty small being marketed at photo journalists. So basically a wide, 90mm standard lense, and 250 for portraits. There was a 150 mm portrait lens but it is super rare. The standard 90mm is very sharp and I never bothered getting more lenses for it.

For value medium format check out the Minolta Autoflex. Twin lens reflex, 6x6 format and an amazing 75mm Rokkor lens that is super sharp and as good as any Hassleblad lens I have used.

    Good video. Pretty informative.
I got a Flexaret VI a few months ago. Payed $160 for it, CLA'd. Seems to work fine, but I need to really figure out the WLVF and focusing. (Unfortunately, all the manuals I can find online are in Czech.) The shots I had focused properly were outstanding, so that's a "me" issue.

I also got a Flexaret VI a while ago, overall a great camera for the price - with a very nice lens. Although as you mentioned focusing can be a bit tricky as the ground glass is quite dim, but you get the hang of it.

Pentax 645 as lots of lenses but they have always been expensive. Pentax 67 seem cheaper and the lenses too, don't know why. I like Bronica 645. Mamiya 645 are great

My most used lens is the 45 2.8. A moderately wide angle lens, sharp as a tack! I snagged a 200 f4 as well. I don’t use it much, but it has really came in handy for a couple of situations!

The Kiev 60 should make it on any list!
Only issue is, while theyre around $300. Get the girl CLA'd. Youll save yourself so much more heartache down the road.
Or spend another $250 on top of the $300 to send it to Arax for an upgrade!
Still hate people who buy old Kiev 60s and bitch about if something isn't 100%. It probably hasnt been used in 30 years man lol.

I will definitely snag one of those and try it out at some point. I haven’t talked about it on the channel yet, but I recently bought a Fed 2 - so I’m feeling very Russian lately. Thanks for watching!

@@Overexposed1 Ohh very nice! I will be watching that video! I have been eyeing the Fed5. It's so cheap, and from some videos look like they take great photographs.
Remember! Cock the camera first before turning the shutter speed dial. Otherwise you will ruin the gears. Tip for all Russian cameras :)

Fuji G690 is pretty overlooked. unlike its successors it has interchangeable lenses. Can be had for $300 with a 100mm F3.5 and most of the other lenses are $300 - 500, which isn't the $100 - 300 they were two years ago, but is still dang cheap. That being said, it weighs as much as a Thanksgiving turkey, so every time I see someone talk about the GW690's plastic shell I shake my head. I WISH my camera had a plastic body.

I have to say that th e Mamiya 645 is still a great recommendation. The 6x4.5 cm negative is usefully larger than 35mm, lenses are great and it's still a solid choice.
