actually Arnetia was tried out as Deana one week on Broadway when they were casting for the LA Company . They had already decided Jennifer and Debbie were going to play their roles in LA. Arnetia was such a funny actress and her vocals were so strong and had a broad range they pegged her for Lorrell in LA.
I saw the LA production. Could not take my eyes off LLB, you talk about looking like Diana. Sheryl Lee Ralph exude the essence of Miss Ross. Both were excellent in their roles. Too bad so much has been removed, and given the Beyonce treatment.
Could you imagine being a casting director, and having to choose between Loretta Devine & Arnetia Walker for Lorrell? Talk about a hard task!
