I always loved Nancy in Dark Shadows....she was so good playing all the different characters in the show and extremely attractive, very petite with the lovely long silky hair. Still a lovely looking woman now.
What a pleasure to hear someone speak in such an articulate, enthusiastic way about the characters she portrayed and about the "Dark Shadows" cast being a repertory company. Nancy Barrett gives acting a good name and makes me want to do some acting!
Nancy was so versatile! She could break your heart one minute and then be completely outrageous the next. She seemed to have so much fun as Pansy Faye. So nice to see her in current time.
I had such a pre-teen crush on "Carolyn Stoddard" when that show was on in the 60's. I was always afraid that one of those ghouls on the show (vampires, werewolves and witches all seemed to have designs on poor Carolyn) would get her one day and she'd be dropped from the series... and Nancy Barrett is still a very beautiful woman -- thanks for posting this!
Carolyn didn't have time for college. She had to deal with vampires, werewolves, going to and fro in time, meeting ghosts, etc. A lot more fun than World History.
Actress Nancy Barrett -all that "rich" hair ofhers" our lovely DS's Carolyn Collins-Stoddard, Letricia Faye, Pansy, Millicent etc.,. truly a gifted TALENT amazing actor in all her iconic roles, such passionate energies she delivered. One of my favorite Dark Shadows character(s).
Ms Barrett was great on the show. She still looks great and her blond mane is always amazing. Ms Barrett's characters were excellently portrayed, she is a most talented actress
Nancy was my favorite female on Dark Shadows. Her characters were always so well acted and believable. At thirteen, l also envied her looks, petite with that straight blonde mane, l was tall, kinda chubby with short wavy hair. Thought my life would be perfect if l looked like Carolyn. Thank you, Ms.Barrette, for being a great part of my teenage years.
One of my earliest memories, since I was born in 1965, is the music to this show as my mother watched it every day until it was off the air. I had only barely remembered anything about it, mostly from later in the show. Barnabas Collins stands out in my mind the most since he came along a little later. I've just started watching it from the very first episode and I'm still only on number 43, so I've got a LONG way to go!
Inspired me as a 5th grader to change my image. At 16 I had long blond hair and could at times be a wild child. A 70s kid I got to do a modeling picture. DS was my Mom n my favorite show. I told her at 10 I wanted to look like Nancy Barrett. My Mom said start working at it. At 10 I was a smartass tomboy. Thank you Nancy for helping me get past that.
@@bachrocktheamericahatersan5799 Alexandra/Vicky lovely also, that long dark hair and delicate features. She looked especially great with her hair in updo for a night out on the town.
You were the best actress I ever saw. I couldn't believe how well you did. You were ten times better than Meryl Streep who got so much attention throughout those years.
Wait a minute...Carolyn DID get married...to leviathan Jeb Hawkes played by Christopher Pennock. .but I think he got killed, so technically, she's a widow.
I think Nancy looks beautiful. Her eye makeup looks great!!! She has alot of personality just like Carolyn!!! I hate that Joe Haskel was gay, they were a beautiful couple. Joe was in the closet as most gays were in that time.
Leda Leda I think you mean the actor playing Joe was gay. I'm guessing he hid his sexuality well, that's not that surprising honestly. The 60s were a period of change for civil rights, but it still had a long way to go for people not only of color but for people of alternate sexual preferences. I think in the 60s it was illegal to be gay, mostly cuz people were not very tolerant of homosexuals.
Chelsi871 Now, Chelsi871, you DO know the difference between fiction/fantasy and reality.... or DO you? Joe Haskell is a FICTITIOUS CHARACTER!! So are Maggie Evans, Carolyn Stoddard, Victoria Winters, and all of the other characters, male and female, in "Dark Shadows". And if you have a problem with any actor being gay, well, that is indeed YOUR problem. Furthermore, an actor's private life is none of your damned business, no more than MY private life is any of your damned business! Or, do you dispute me on that?! And yes, I am Gay.
LOL. Joe Haskell wasn't gay. The actor who portrayed him was gay. And so what? So was Cary Grant, Rock Hudson, James Dean, the list goes on and on. Many female heartthrobs were(are) gay. Do we have a little problem here distinguishing between fantasy and reality??
@ sharonlynnh.1951. Nancy Barrett is an actress not an actor! The sickening attempt in our certifiably crazy world to make men and women exactly the same is absolutely ludicrous!
Nancy Barrett is still a very attractive woman today......however mature women shouldn't use dark liner/shadow to bring out their eyes. It just makes the eyes appear droopy/baggy and more tired than needed.
Yep. After I hit middle age had to completely do a different look with makeup. There’s nothing worse than a 50 year old woman trying to look 25! Lol. Nancy looks really great. She most definitely lives a healthy lifestyle. I don’t recall ever hearing any of the Dark Shadows women being involved in drug or alcohol abuse. For that matter anything wrong. I know it was different with some of the DS. guys. I just loved Don Briscoe and Mitch Ryan.
Caroline Stoddard is the first character you meet in the series. Episode1, Scene1. Caroline Stoddard and then Burke Devlin. She looks great. She must be around 75. Obviously she's had some work done. Next time, do something about the neck. Then you'll be fabulous.
Still beautiful even though she's over 70, still has that beautiful hair!
I agree. Her hair is fabulous and so is she!
She would make an awesome Bette Davis in a movie! :)
Agreed. Stunning.
well, her face is quite nice as well
Kirk Barkley good shape
Nancy is a prime example of why DS was so flipping brilliant. Thank you! ❤️
She had a cockney accent on the show.
Versatile actress.
Her voice still has that musical lilt to it. Beautiful!
Think Pansy Faye.
I always loved Nancy in Dark Shadows....she was so good playing all the different characters in the show and extremely attractive, very petite with the lovely long silky hair. Still a lovely looking woman now.
She’s Still Beautiful
Thanks Nancy💕🌟

Nancy Barrett is a very talented actress and it is so interesting to hear her in interviews!
I loved watching Dark Shadows when I was young. I'm having a blast rewatching the entire series now.
I loved Nancy in all her roles on Dark Shadows!
She was great in all of them
Hopefully I look this awesome when I reach her age! She's still a beauty.💜
Nancy Barrett was and remains absolutely delighful both as an actress and as a person. I love her sense of humour and her lovely smile. :-)

That's our "Kitten" :)
what a totally FUN actress!
Carolyn didn't have time for college. She had to deal with vampires, werewolves, going to and fro in time, meeting ghosts, etc. A lot more fun than World History.
This woman is a riot. I loved her watching the show as a kid and really appreciated her sense of humor as well as gratitude toward "Dark Shadows."
I was shocked by what happened to her in House of Dark Shadows.
She seems like a fun lady to be around in real life.

I loved Dark Shadows because it was ahead of it's time.
One of my earliest memories, since I was born in 1965, is the music to this show as my mother watched it every day until it was off the air. I remember the scene of her dancing at the Blue Whale. Burke Devlin's PI said something like "I wish my wife could wiggle like THAT"
LOL!! Dat ass! :o :o
I love her Millicent Collins in1795. A great beauty, you just wanted to take her in your arms...A fine actress.
Boz Phiz agreed. She had such great range as an actress.
One of the best actresses from the show! Nancy Barrett never received the recognition she deserved throughout her career.
I think she's wonderful! Beautiful too!
I am grateful for the life Nancy breathed into that character.
Carolyn Stoddard in the future would have been rich, still single, yet partying it up with much younger men. She would have enjoyed her later years.
dana faraday hmmm...u hear/read this nancy im available !!! ;)
Rich cougar... I can see that.
"Princess..."
No idea what nancy's ambitions were, but she should have been a major star
As a kid in junior high school, I was SO in love with Carolyn. Maggie, too, for that matter!
Yes indeed. Also Lara Parker and Kathryn Leigh Scott were gorgeous ladies on DS, in my opinion.
Absolutely right!

She was an amazing actress on the show and very subtle and with great range....
LOVE THE WAY NANCY DRESS IN THE YEAR 1897.SHE WAS SO VERY BEAUTIFUL. AND STILL BEAUTIFUL TO THIS DAY.IN 1897 SHE PLAY MISS TRASK.
She´s such a beautiful woman and you can tell how much more she used to be. She sounds a lot like her younger self too.
❤️ Thank You ❤️

What?! No. DS was off the air before Streep became famous.
she really is!! Still hot after all these years!
She was so good in the series!
her voice is still the same! close your eyes & your back again..
It really is!
Most definitely
Nancy Barrett has a beautiful laugh!
Watching it on Hulu now!!
"Most of my characters were a little bit on the edge" ..."Im really not sure what that says about me" LMAO!!.. We love you Nancy..
Wait a minute...Carolyn DID get married...to leviathan Jeb Hawkes played by Christopher Pennock. .but I think he got killed, so technically, she's a widow.
Nancy, do you have a second cousin Fontaine? I met her many many years ago and she said she was related to you. Glad you are alive and well!
Scarlet street is my favorite Joan Bennett film
Great actress with barnabas
You were excellent in DS.. especially after Barnabas bit you. ❤
I really liked her character, Pansy Faye! Awesome . . .
I enjoyed Nancy's interview.
💙💙💙💙
Had the biggest crush on her when I was young. ...Maybe still do :)
I met her at a DS convention in 2006.
Very nice lady.
Did you also see Lara Parker and Kathryn Leigh Scott? From Ms.harper Stacey.
@@harperstacey9604 Yes I did. Got their autographs.
@@TheBob3759 do you notice that the female cast members outlasted the male cast members from dark shadows? From Ms. Harper Stacey.
@@harperstacey9604 How so?. David Selby, John Karlen, Chris Pennock and a few others were there just as long.
Nancy and the other surviving DS women are older now than when Joan Bennett starred in the program.
Thank you for posting this. Nancy Barrett still looks amazing. What year is this from?
❤❤❤❤❤
Wow! In this interview Nancy's make up looks perfect for a Dark Shadows vampire.
I think she looks great.
Me gusta verle cuando baila en La whale blue
I think Nancy looks beautiful. Her eye makeup looks great!!! She has alot of personality just like Carolyn!!! I hate that Joe Haskel was gay, they were a beautiful couple. Joe was in the closet as most gays were in that time.
How could it possibly matter that Joe Haskel was gay? He played his part convincingly enough and was extremely handsome as well.
Leda Leda I think you mean the actor playing Joe was gay. I'm guessing he hid his sexuality well, that's not that surprising honestly. In the show her biker boyfriend was a total loser. I'll take you to the Blue Whale!
Poor Buzz. He just wanted a little ass.
He was so ugly and goofy, he was actually 35 at that time.
