We don’t want to help you improve, we want to help you dominate.
Thank you so much. Honestly. We need more coaches like you.
Appreciate that!
It helped me a lot to get a lot of more goals. Thank you.
What an awesome knowledgeable coach.
I'm a play maker is going wide full speed then passing it the middle of the net for a one timer good? Or our defense has the hardest shot in the league EDIT YES thx to you. We won city finals!!! TROPHY!!😃 thx so much
they call me soap because you can't squeeze me, jk i don't even play hockey
What I like is that even without too much skill, I can skate my hardest and focus on the player instead of the puck!
Really helpful, starting my first season ever at a roller rink down the street from my college. Got the legs going so its time to start making plays! Thanks for all the insight
You bet!
in summary: Over sell, fake it really well (both direction, or fake shots). Then take the other direction once the defenceman has dropped a knee or made a move. Change your speed. You can also slide the puck past a defenseman
Good summary. The key is to know WHY. It's one thing to do something and be a robot, it's another thing to understand exactly why you are doing something.
This is the kinda coach that when you make a mistake he formally addresses it 😁
I think holding onto a move too long is not the best way to approach a deke. It’s not how long u hold it, but the use of variable timing that is key. The famous Samurai who wrote the ‘book of five rings’, Musashi, states, “you win duals by using a timing which the enemy does not expect”. I think the very same is true in this situation. I try to begin with a slower rhythm. And my ‘sell’ should come at a faster rhythm. It should be fast enough - and I think this is key- that if the defender chooses not to play it, he would be in serious trouble. Therefore he has no choice but to play it. And when he bites, you time your deke at the fastest rhythm for the moment he begins to shift his weight to play the sell. So that’s 3 different rhythms, each one successively faster than the last. I’ve seen players like Alex Mogilny spin NHL defenders right around and leave them swimming by executing this type of thing.
Thanks for the video!!!
This is kinda funny because I'm here to improve my offense in my NHL-20 Be a Pro -mode. Sounds funny, but this video actually helped me a lot, and I'm sure it helps the real players a lot more :) Great vid.
Nois
like it
What about altering speeds so you pull up and curl away? Pickup hockey and beer league seems to give me 1 on 2 situations, but when I have a 2 on 2 or 2 on 3 I seem to be able to open up the ice
He mentions that in the vid.
This is a good one. So many of my kids on our team will try to skate right through the D....it doesn't work.
Thx but say more then you will get more likes
He seems depressed
Smiling ear to ear
